ask help for senator and congressman.. that's what i did for my mom.
i am still waiting for the case complete.. hope we can get an early interview.. hopefully she will be here before thanksgiving or xmas-
good luck keep us posted..
Hi, thanks... I was reading your signature/timeline yesterday and that encouraged me to seek for advise. Do you think that 5 months is enough to contact the senator? What exactly I will tell?
Thanks

I found out about the USCIS workload, I filled my mom's petition on May 21st and it's been 5 months now.
I was planning to expedite the petition due of my daughter's autism diagnosis. I left my job to stay home for my daughter's in-home ABA therapy. We are having tight budget but not extreme finacial lost so I decided to wait.
I checked the status online but still not even touch, do you think that it's advisable to seek for our congressman or senator's help while it's not yet touch or transfer? Or it's better to wait until they transfer my case?
Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes we have documents that she is diagnose that has autism (medically and school district) and recommended speech and occupational therapist, She has speech and OT session every week for few hours, but we feel that it's not enough so we are seeking for 1 on 1 ABA. As of now we are in the process of Treatment Plan with ABA company.
About financial hardship, maybe not because we applied for TEFRA (Medical Assistance for children with disability with working parents), we will pay for monthly parental fee and the rest will be covered by Tefra.
Thanks again

Thanks for the reply.
Do you think it will harm my petiton if I still try to expedite it?
Thanks

Hello, yesterday I posted about my autistic daughter will have one on one in home therapy and she needs someone to be with her during therapy. I will have my leave of absence but it's just after 12 weeks, so we need someone whom we can trust because we are not comfortable leaving her to someone whom we dont even know since she cannot talk and express what she needs.
Today one of her therapist told me that she really need in home because even I am working in the same center that she is attending, I can see that she is having hard time...
They said I can try to expedite but not sure if they will approve it.
Question. How can I expedite it, do I need to contact first our senator or USCIS? Then do I need to give the backup proof to the senator or the USCIS will request for it? My mom's petiton was submitted last May 20th.
Thanks

Thanks for the help.
I am a preschool teacher and my daughter is attending same center and I am not happy about some teacher's way of taking care of her, the social worker supervisor asked my husband if we are comfortable leaving my daugher to respite care after my leave of absence but we actually not.
What's the best way to contact our senator? Do we need to give all the necessary documents as proof for one-on-one therapy and the diagnosis to back up?
Thank

My daughter is diagnosed that has autism and we decided to have one on one therapy at home but we need someone to be with her during the therapy as part the program. I am planning to have my family medical leave of absence but just up to 12 weeks. So we need someone to be with her during the therapy that we really trust after my leave of absence.
I filled my mom's petiton on May 20th, can I expedite it and seek for senator's help?
Thanks for reading.

Hi everyone, I will petition my 57 yr old mom who is in the Philippines. I just want to ask what will be my answer at question #22. It's kinda confusing and wanna be sure...
" Complete the information below if your relative is in the US and will apply for adjustment of status.
Your relatives is in the US and wil apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at USCiS office in:
It's obviously NA because my mom is in the Philippines.
How about in the next question "If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of status, he or she will apply for visa abroad at the American consulat post in:
Do I need to write Manila, Philippines or NA since the question #22 is if my relative is in US.
Thanks.

Yep it depends upon the state, your purpose of having the credential evaluation and your degree, I am from Minnesota and the reason of my credential evaluations is for licensing purpose and continous education( now that I am pregnant, I decided not to take the licensure) . In Minnesota Department of Education, we must appply for evaluations accedited by NACES. My papers were evaluated at e-ValReports for $125 both bachelor and masteral(course-by-course), 2 copies... this is the cheapest.
If just for employment purpose, this is the cheapest... around $70 you just need the standard or general report. If licensing and continous education you need course-by-couse or comprehensive evaluations (with units accredited, subject, GPA, etc.)
Some also evaluated the working experience.
The payment for credential evaluation is kinda expensive, depending of the evaluation that you need. Secondly, the requirements for evaluation is depending to the evaluation company that you will apply. Some evaluators just accepted the TOR by email, some accepted a copy with notorization and some required the original documents.
In my case, the evaluator asked the original copy and I even submitted my marriage certificate to change my maiden name to my married name.
As I said, there are different purposes of having the credential evaluations, there are different requirements, some evaluators are not accredited.
Hope it helps.

I got my interview letter yesterday on March 8, 2010. Well, the last touched for my AOS was Dec. 16, 2009... some who almost same touched had their interview last January or early February. Atlease I will not worry about my paper now....
-
Your timeline is close to ours and we just received our AOS approval email early this week. Ours was transfered to CSC the 15th December. You should be soon!
Good luck
Hi Thanks and congratulations, unfortunately my paper is not transfer at CSC or I even not receive any interview letter as of now. The USCIS costumer representative told me to wait 60 days after my case resumed, so that will be on Feb 10 to inform them that my case is out of date, I cannot wait until Feb 10, so hopefully I can call this coming Monday.

Hi, I do not have any touch for my I-485 since Dec 16, 2009. It seems that almost all were transfered at CSC and some already received their interview letter. Any ideas and advice? Thanks
-
Congrats to all who have their GC now and goodluck to those who have interview date.
Hmmm, I am sad because I do receive yet any interview date and the last touched for my I-485 was Dec 16, 2009.

Interview , Jan 26th, 2010 K-1/K-2
Bloomington, MN
We were called in by a gentleman only a few minutes late for our first appointment.
He said, "sit where you want".
Then my wife and daughter were sworn in.
He checked my wife and daughter’s passports.
He asked my wife:
Where do you live?
Parents names?
Your married name?
How many children do you have?
What are the children’s names?
When were the children born?
What is your home phone number?
Then he switched to variations of questions on the I-485:
Have you ever been arrested?
Have you ever been in jail?
Have you ever been a US citizen before?
Have you ever been deported?
Then back to personal questions:
He then asked, “do you or your daughter have SS numbers?” My wife does, but our daughter does not yet. She is only ten years old, but we do have an individual tax identification number, ITIN, for her. I asked if he wanted the paperwork for our daughter and he said “no, it is not necessary”.
Then he asked my wife if her daughter spoke English. We both said yes at the same time and I commented, “probably better than I do”. He then asked our daughter her name and her birthday.
He then said “I am going to approve both of these”. You should get a welcome letter in four weeks and a green card in six weeks. I asked if he needed anything else and he said “no”. No paperwork, no pictures, no financials … simply nothing was asked for except my wife and daughter’s passports initially. About 20 minutes for the whole interview.
He asked if we had any questions and then my wife and I asked about the 10 year card. He printed off some of the necessary paperwork and we thanked him and we left. He was very pleasant and professional.
Even though we signed up for e-mail notices, we have yet to receive any update on our status, except the initial e-mail saying we are signed up to receive e-mails!
We are of course relieved this part is over and we wish all of you good luck on your interviews and green card adventures. For those who have received green cards all ready a Big Congratulations!
Congratulations, I am from MN too. But unfortunately no interview date as of now. God bless.

Too bad, mostly same as my timeline already have interview dates and some already transfer at CSC. Well, mine need to wait... Feb 10, 2010 (60 days after my case resumed) I will call the USCIS if I will not receive any interview date... Congrats to all who have their GC and interview dates this coming days.

Mostly November filers received the I-693 RFE http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...6532&st=165 ... you can ask and read what they did. Mostly they already responded to the I-693 RFE.
You can also read this http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=233655
Good luck, I paid $70 for another transcription plus vaccination expenses were paid by the insurance and I think $150 for full medical at Mid-Way Family Clinic...but we do not know if they will ask you to have another vaccination like me.
-
Yep, every state is different. In my case, I just shown my passport with I-94, SSN# and state ID...they asked me about the NOA1 but on that time I do not receive yet my NOA1 so the lady told me to bring back the NOA1 but she allowed me to have the written test... days passed by, and I tried to call the DMV if they still need my NOA1 and the operator has no idea about AOS...so I just ignored the lady and few days after my I-94 expires I received a withdrawal... I went to DMV office and just gave the copy of NOA1 and all went well... since I do not have my license in the Phil I have to wait until February to accomplish atlease 90 days then I can have the road test.
So here Minnesota, unexpired I-94 then NOA1 are enough to get the IP and driver's license.

As you may know from reading topics on this forum a lot of people have received RFE's for their I-693, myself included.
As a K1 fiance holder I had a full medical in the UK in September as part of the process. For this reason I do not need to have another medical exam for the I-693, only the vaccination supplement needs completing by a civil surgeon.
Section III. Frequently Asked Questions
2. What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas?
If you were admitted as a:
A. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e), or as a
B. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen, and
C. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then-
You are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination.
You will, however, be required to complete Part 1, Information about you, and submit the vaccination section of Part 2 with your adjustment of status application. A designated civil surgeon must complete the vaccination section and Part 5, the Civil Surgeon's Certification.
Taken from the I-693 instructions.
So what I was hoping, from other people's experience, after receiving your RFE did you just send another vaccination supplement and if so was everything fine, or did you just give up and go ahead and get the full medical.
Really would like to hear people's experiences on this matter.
Luke and Deanna
As I told you in another post, I received that I-693 RFE even my overseas medical is still valid and I responded by another transcription at Mid-Way Family Clinic at University Avenue St,. Paul...CS Dr. Gebre. My EAD and AP are already approved a week after they resumed my case... but my AOS is still pending... as of now I do not receive a second RFE because I just sent the transcription. Hopefully my respond is enough, some responded to that RFE letter with a full medical to be sure and not to worry about, but it's kinda expensive having a full medical...but for me it's better because even my EAD and AP are approaved I still worrying if my transcription is enough or not for my AOS.
In my RFE letter it says, "Submit a properly completed I-693...."
Good luck!!!!

Hello, in my case they didn't put it inside the I-693 envelope. I gave the photo copy of the RFE letter to them since I read it that it's necessary to give the yellow letter with the responds. So I was the one who put the yellow letter into another envelope with the respond.
Yeah better to ask the lady, but too bad you will wait again...but maybe she read that part , sending the respond with that RFE letter.
Good luck!!!

I have received my interview letter with Appt. date Feb 1, 2010. Notice date Dec 22,
It's strange enough that so far no touches both on my EAD/AP since november 25th. Ohh well I guess, EAD and AP approval should be on its way.
:)
Congrats!!!!

The same thing happened to my husband, applying in Minnesota as well. Ugh, we can't even get another copy because we used Dr. Arnold and he is closed now. It is so frustrating! I think we will just end up having him get the full medical because we are just sick of dealing with it. Does anyone know if the EAD and AP will continue to process despite this RFE?
Hi, I am also from Minnesota. Dr. Arnold made my I-693 and I had my another I-693 at Mid-Way Family Clinic. The Service will process your EAD after they receive your respond. It also says it in the RFE letter. In my case a week after they resumed my case, my EAD and AP were approved.
Good luck.
