Thank you SO much for your words of encouragement. I cannot believe you allowed them to scream at you this way.
I would have gone straight through the ceiling. I'm a very very nice woman, but if someone pulls this nonsense on
me, I am a tiger. In fact, my husband calls me a tiger!!! The judge in Morocco refused to approve a marriage for us,
and I confronted him in the court house. My husband said he was shocked when I got up and told the judge I wanted
to talk to him. When I was through, obviously he gave us permission. I called the USCIS today and complained and
had a very rude guy at first and then asked for his supervisor who was lovely and then went on to tell me her own mom
married a man 20 years her junior. I am kicking up a lot of dust here. How did they ever have the nerve to talk to you,
a citizen of the USA, in such a manner? That is so horrible. I'm sitting here stunned. You look like a very happy
couple and I wish you every happiness. Best to you!
Those guys did make me very angry! So angry I left the room in tears when they were done and told my husband not to talk to them that we would just live in Jordan. Of course they told him if he didn't go with them, our petition would be void.
I finally looked at one of them when he said "you are not Muslim" and said "I may not be today but tomorrow I may be!"
As for kids, my husband never wanted kids and even refers to most of them as monkeys.... LOL! (And yes I told them that he had said that, too... LOL)
They told both of us they would be here to arrest us in 2 years when he had his permanent green card and filed for divorce. I told them to come on and try... we are happy together and still will be in 2 years.
It was an experience to say the least and one I hope we never have to go through again.
I think what angered me most was that they had so much doubt about our relationship, but still did not ask for a single phone log, picture, chat log or anything.
But in the end, we are together. And I think this journey and all the struggles we went through to be together have only made us stronger and closer as a couple.

When my husband and I first applied for a K1 in 2009, we were returned to USCIS because of the age difference and the CO did not look at ONE piece of proof of the relationship.
A month later, I was in Jordan and we married and filed a CR1.
When we interviewed almost a year later, they still didn't look at anything we took as proof (and I had about 35 pounds of papers and pictures).
We were interviewed together and then separately by a criminal investigator from homeland security and a man for DOS. They treated us like criminals! They were basically screaming at me "you are not Muslim" and "you can't give him sons".
It was awful! We got AP for over 3 months and he finally got his visa and got here on Dec 15, 2010.
Yes an age difference is a big RED FLAG! But hang in there and hope for the best but expect the worst. You CAN win this battle!

Tranquillo:)
I just got a speeding ticket and it will cost me 400 dollars to get it off my record and go to stupid traffic school...anyways, I don't remember seeing anywhere on the forms a part where you need to disclose traffic tickets so I think it's ok!
What is not ok is the amount of the fine but I guess lesson learned!
T
I have to add something to this.
My husband got a speeding on New Year's Eve... just 2 weeks after his arrival. ($157)
He is still on his international driver's license and the officer didn't want to see his passport. So.... I don't know how the officer DIDN'T see his name, but.... he listed Moh's first and middle name as his city and country!
It looks like his name is Amman Jordan AlHosainy!
-
Red flags? Now what does this means??
Red flags are things that make them suspisous that the relationship isn't real. One for us is that I am older than he is.
-
Maybe this will give you all some hope... hubby leaves Jordan tomorrow! We were in AP 97 days and honestly, we had some red flags (in their opinion). But anything can be overcome!
-
This is a good news, let the good news coming our way.
Good luck and Best wishes.
Thanks everyone!
The link where we have been checking the AP tells us he should have it in 5-14 days!
-
Hey there !! Congrats, I'll pray that soon he'll has his visa !! Would be a great Christmas gift na !
You spoke of him entering his passport number in a link,I was not aware of a link that you can check on your AP. Would you please pass that link to me.
Best of luck to the both of you
If I understand this right, that link is different for each embassy and I am not sure all embassies use it.
If they have it, it will be on the immigrant visa page for your embassy. On Jordan's it says "check the status of your administrative processing". When we click this, it lets us enter his passport number for info.
The embassy gave us this link at his interview.
Hope there is one for you to use. It helps a little to be able to check it!

can you tell me how did they conact ur husebond ?????? by the phone or email????
i think it took less than a hundred day to get done with the AP right??????????
did you let ur family or frinds to email the emmbasy as what you said before???? if so i will do it
I had emailed them with my new phone number and when they replied today to say they got it, it also said send the passport. And at the same time I was reading this, he was entering his passport number in the link and it said the same!
This was day 97. Another guy Mo knows also got his message at the link today. So at least we know they are working on things.
We decided not to send the emails. Just waited it out. But I did send a kinda begging please help us email last week (the 22nd I think) and in the link we use, it says our case was updated on the 23rd. I think it takes about a week to show a change online. I don't know if my begging helped... who knows... LOL!
-
You should hear something in the next few weeks if the pattern holds up...
It should be any day now...
This was day 97 for us and when we entered his passport number.... they were telling us to submit it! YEAH!
-
The embassy wants his passport!
-
The embassy wants his passport. I think AP is over!
-
The embassy is asking for the passport! YAY!

They wanted to check the validity of our relationship. So they did an interview with me, and also interviewed my fiance's father. I have called DOS and they have told me on two different occasions that it looks like the interviews went well, and that maybe now we are just waiting on background checks... or just for them to give an answer.
If your not sure why your in AP, look at all the questions they asked him in the interview. What kind of questions were they, were they really digging for some information about your relationship ? Was is a fairly simple interview ? Some embassy's simply wont tell you why your in AP. Hopefully it will move fast for you. There are some who have been in AP for...forever. I try not to think about that, cause it makes me sick.... and just feel lucky that so far this is not the case for us, and pray it wont go that way. Good luck.
Danni
I was at the interview with him and it was hell.
The first CO was nice and it was simple, normal questions we read here all the time, He told us it looked like we would be in AP and wait for more questions. Then a man from DOS took me to a room and he and a homeland security investigator questioned me. The old routine about we fit a pattern of arab men marrying older women for a visa... blah blah blah. I stood my ground with them and let them know we were real. Of course they then took him back too.
Another man (I don't know if he was another CO or what and the embassy was about to close by this time) then told us mandatory ap and that it was going to Washington, DC and asked for the names of his brothers and sisters.
I have asked DOS if I should be preparing anything or doing anything and they will tell me that it doesn't look like I need to do anything. They haven't called either of us or any family or anything and we were given that link listed here to check on the AP.
Also, I took about 35 pounds of relationship proof with me and they didn't want to see any of it. The last man we talked to said our papers were perfect.
I am guessing from all this that it's background checks, but who knows! They won't come right out and say and the embassy is even more evasive.

i think around august of 09
any news?!??!?!
I know our case is in a different country, but this happens a lot... both the AP and telling someone they are approved and then doing this.
We were told at our interview on Aug 24 that it would be in mandatory AP. Don't count on much info from DOS or the embassy. This is day 96 for us. In an email our embassy said it usually takes 3 months, but they also told my senator 5 months. It is very hard to say... but good luck!
-
any good news????????
No news. I will call DOS again tomorrow.
Do you know anything about how long the police certificate and med exam are good there?
I am thinking it's only 6 months and Mo will have to do it all again
-
i called DOS on friday the answer was the same but she told me that ur congress man sign up for help on the case
they told my congressmsan to call back in a month they did not tell him any other information
Sounds like they give the same speech to everyone!

Hi Everyone
Hamza and I have been in AP/AR for 102 days (that's counting the 31st days in Aug, and Oct)I hope everyone has a speedy AP! Good luck to everyone. The best way I have found to pass the time, is to try to forget about it, and keep close with your SO!
Danni
Can I ask if you know why you got the AP?
I am more and more convinced ours is a background check.
-
Frank1961,
Go to this link, http://212.38.142.2/niv_stat.asp and enter your wife's Jordanian passport number. If her passport number shows up here, then she is in Washington DC background checks and you just need to wait for them to be completed.
If it doesn't show up here, then she is most likely in AP at the embassy level and they are checking out and verifying your relationship. If it doesn't show up, call DOS and ask them for the status of your wife's visa. If they tell you it is in Administrative Processing, ask them if it is name check or if it is at the embassy level.
I hope this helps you figure out what is going on.
Good Luck to you and I hope your AP ends soon.
Thank you. This helped me too. They gave us this link at the interview.
I have asked both DOS (on several occasions) and the embassy if it is background checks and neither will give me an answer. But finally when I asked one person at DOS if I should be preparing any papers, she said no.
If it's background checks (and it SOUNDS like it is), I hope they are almost done!
-
what is an AP?
AP is administrative processing. They can do it at any stage, but most of the time it happens at the interview.
-
my wife she on ap since 03/24/2010 good luck and dont fell bad thats jordan
Did they tell you why she got AP? Do you know if it's a background check or what?
-
Ya I know !! At least they could give us sum kind of info. All they ever tell me "Still pending AP" !!
I found this, which tells about AP. http://www.usaimmigrationattorney.com/SecurityNameChecksAndAdministrativeReview.html
I printed the FOIA form. If I read it right, my husband is the one who has to sign it and get it notarized. Great, even more time lost getting it back from Jordan after he prints it! But I think I will use it. I just want to know WHY we are in this ridiculous AP! His record is clear and so is mine... not even a speeding ticket!
-
THanks for this!
Good read.
Has anyone tried getting thier name off the list?
I heard that tehre is paperwork that can be completed
Do you mean to get a name off the AP list? That would be great! If you find anything, let me know.
That link was interesting. It sounds to me like they look for hits on the LAST name but maybe it's more than that. I pray it's only last names!
-
Thought maybe I would start this. I didn't see it anywhere.
Maybe those of us who are in AP can gather here and cheer each other on and try to find ways to pass the time.
This is day 93 for us!

Haven't been on VJ for quite a while. Hubby's temporary green card expired Dec 15, 2012. Can't remember our NOA1 date (think it was Sept 20 or so) and biometrics were on Oct 17. It is at VSC so expecting a long wait from what I am reading here.............
