  1. Did anyone ever come across a situation where someone's father of the one being granted temporary residency wanted to come to the US... and they are well into their years? I was wondering if my father in law being 92 years old would fall into some kind of a waiver or something if he wanted to come here and stay after his 2 month "visitor" visa expires. Have you ever seen anything about there being a maximum age requirement for someone needing to file for permanent US residency? My husband is here on a K1/CF1 visa and has temproary residency we were married in January, he's a british citizen..

ANy advise would help, he's not in great health but wants to leave England and live with us permanantly... we need to do this fast though because being 92 as you can well imagine, time is of the essence.

Thanks VJ for any ideas you have.

  2. Thanks... it was getting really old.. especially when I see others getting visas 3 months or so after initial filing... it was only 15+ months for us.. a year more than some... oh well cant cry about spilled milk.. on to the rest of our life together..

    happyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy danceeeeeeeeeeeee !!!!!!!!!!!!(F)

Wow, congrats Scott and Thuy!!!! I am so happy for you both!! You made it through the HCMC consulate hell, you can make it through anything! Enjoy the rest of your lives together! You two deserve all the happiness there is! (F)

  4. Hello fellow Feb AOS Filers! Long time no talk too, I guess life happens and thats'a good thing! This year, John and I got married on 1-23, we had Valentines day, the birth of our grand daughter Marcella, started biking, had my birthday, went and saw Jeff Dunham Live and suffered through losing my sister to Cancer. But like anyone elses's lives we have our good and our bad, then our good usually happens again. for John and I our good came 2 days before my sister passed on July 13, we went to San Antonio Texas for our interview and were approved. He recieved his green card with Temp status good for 2 years in the mail on Friday 7-23-10.

VJ has been a silent blessing in all our travels and without you and this site, we never would have been able to aoccomplish all that was needed to insure that we would have each other for ever. We are in love, we are blessed and forever we are grateful.

Be kind, good luck and I will check in on everyone occasionally, but for now, I think I will prepare for my trip to Europe in 3 weeks and enjoy a well earned vacation. I Love You Guys!! Good luck to all still laying in wait! You are in our prayers!

  6. OK Everyone!! we have great news!! John's Adjustment of Status was APRROVED!! TODAY 7-13-10... AT 2:00 pm. In San Antonio, TX. Officer Guerro with Homeland Securtiy asked many quesitons of past relationships, any kids, how we met, why we love each other and where will we be in 5 years. After a few tears of gratitude and expressions of our obvious love for each other, he granted him temporary residency, we go back in 2 years - show proof of ongoing relationship then again 10 years after that. We are truly blessed!!(L)

  7. They returned all of our evidence and said that our case is undergoing additional processing...AP... it will likely be this month or the next before we hear from them..

You guys are in my prayers! John and I both wish you the best and know you are two of the strongest people we know. We talk about you guys often and admire your courage and strength. Bless you both!

  9. Nwanyioma and Loveaboo, I'm not in the US yet.. I might be flying by late Feb or Mid March... My POE will be either JFK or Miami FL. I'll keep you guys posted! :)

Loveaboo, How's the AOS going? That AOS process seems like a puzzle to me now...

Who else is doing AOS now of June Filers?

Hey GF! John and I sent in our AOS on 2-11 I think it was, we already received confirmation of receipt, I sent it regular post.. it wasn't too bad really, just some more forms and some evidence of documents, when ya get ready give me a shout and if I can help I will. Warren and Cindy already went through it too. You may have to do an interview, that depends on what they get in Chicago. Hope all are doing well. JG and I are fantastic! Loving this married life thing-a-ma-bob! lol...

    Huggs VJ!!

  10. photos boarding passes and copy of my passport.. dont want to cause any friction until we are done with DoS.. this was one of two women known for vicious interviews

I'm so very sorry to hear about this Scott and Thuy. Man! You guys have been through hell already! I will pray that this nightmare is over soon. God be with you both and keep you strong and everlasting!

  11. I've not been in here for so long took me an hour to get caught up!! lol. I'm glad to see everyone is getting by. Life in Austin is beyond happiness. I'd say deliriously wonderful. To all who've been approved Congrads! To those in limbo.. God Speed!!

John and I get Married in 2 weeks (1-23-10). We went yesterday and got the Social Security card (it's free in case your wondering) - needed his Birth Certificate and Passport only. Bear in mind, the people in Georgetown, TX do not give the Social that day (not sure about others, would assume the same). They said they have to "clear it in the database" which takes a day, but we arent driving all the way back there to get it, we will wait for it to come in the mail (average 10 business days). We then headed to the District Clerks office for the Marriage License.. basically same documents for him, mine just my Drivers license, no blood tests required in Texas. We hav ea pretty one for the officent to sign, then he will mail to the clerks office, record iot and send original to us.

We have to wait 72 hrs to get married and marry within 30 days (so 27 days really??) lol. Love the State departments!!

Update on my sister, while she is still too weak to travel her white cell count remains unchanged (not good), but she gained 6 pounds (good), but the cancer is more defined (not good) in her kidneys. I am positive that all the support from my friends and family (online and in real time) have helped in her being able to be with us a little longer. I'm afraid she wont make it to the wedding (4 hour drive), but she will get a videography, professionally done by a cameraman who works for Regent Cinemas!! Weeeee!!

Next steps after wedding, file for AOS, EAD and AP... You guys are the best. John and I wish you all happy lives together and pain free processes.

  12. It's been 26 days since my interview...

I have emailed the Consulate 3 times in the past 3 weeks about our case status updates.. We've been under 'Consular Final Review' for two weeks now.. DOS says the same thing.. Not sure when the final review should be over...but I'm praying it's soon...

Huggggggggggsssssssssssss AYA and JOHN!! your spirit is high your hopes have no boundaries!! Keep on em girl you can do this!!
