  1. nickandkayte,

From what I have read on here where people have documented their interviews is that they will more than likely not ask for proof of relationship stuff. Of course have it with you which you will. They are going to be more concerned with the I-134 affidavit of support info from your fiance. It sounds like you have are almost have everything together...you should be just fine. Keep us posted and let us know how it goes!

  2. Paul,

If you are planning to file a K-1 (fiance visa) you will have to marry in the US. You could get married in the US (small ceremony), file the AOS paperwork that then later in the year, have another ceremony in France. If you choose to marry in France, you will have to file a K-3 or CR-1 after you marry. I would recommend looking at the guides to see what is best for the 2 of you.

  3. I would think that it would be much cheaper to get them in your country than in the US but you can get them in the US if you prefer. When you go to file the AOS, you have to meet with a civil surgeon here in the US. Whether you have had vaccinations or not and they can administer them to you at that time. You can come here without having the vaccinations but the forms required for the AOS are going to have to be signed off on by a civil surgeon who is not going to sign the documents for you (which are required) if you have no proof of having the required vaccinations. It is your choice, have them in France and bring the paperwork with you showing that you had them or get them here...

  4. Okay...I have sort of an update for those of you that mailed packet 3 and have been waiting for some response that they have received those documents. I called DOS and they said that they have opened the packet 3 envelope that David mailed but have not qualified him yet. I am assuming that this means that they have not entered the DS forms into the system. Does anyone know how long that typically takes? I am relieved to know that the forms aren't floating around the embassy or lost so atleast it is something. The woman I spoke to said that the London Embassy is back logged and that they have been receiving a lot of phone calls today for London. Hopefully, we will all hear something more this week..

  5. First of all, it look like you have found the right place. This website has gotten us through this process so far and continues to. The letter of intent and the G-325 is good. He is also going to need to provide you with passport photos as well.

As far as not having a long history of work, that will not be a problem. If it were me, to be on the safe side, you may want to get a co-sponsor. You are not going to have to worry about that until you get to the 2nd phase of this process, since you do not have to prove any income in the first phase. There have been a lot of people to go through this process that have been students, just out of school or without a long work history. You should be fine.

  6. Thank you for letting us know that...this part for me not knowing if they got it, if it has been lost, or if we need to send it again...is driving me nuts! It makes me feel better to know that we are not alone...

I wanted to ask???When you went to the interview and paid for the postage to get your visa mailed back to you, do you get any kind of tracking number? I was just curious..

  7. Anyhow just checking once again on my folder 1 documents:-

    Police check

    Avi of support

    OF-169

    156X2

    157X2

    156K

You will also need your long form birth certificate, passport, and DS-230. If I think if anything else, I will let you know...

  8. You are more than welcome!

As far as the police certificate, worse case scenerio, they will approve pending receipt of the police certificate as long as everything else is in order. If your fiance is overnighting his docs to you, if he sends it UPS, DHL or Fed-ex you should get it in 1 to 2 days max. If that happens with the police certificate, you are going to be able to use their courier service vs royal mail so it will get there quicker...

  9. Yes, those dates are when we had confirmation that the package was delivered. Those dates are not confirmation from DOS. Every time I call, they ask me if he received his packet that was mailed on 10/7 and I always respond telling them that it was mailed back over to weeks ago. I feel better knowing that we are not alone. I was starting to feel that way. Not happy that you guys are going through this either. We were hoping for a November interview as well but everyday that goes by, a little bit of that hope goes away...I know that eventually they will get to us but at this point, I would love for it to be sooner rather than later....

The consulate prefers tax transcripts because it shows that you did file your taxes. They have the right to ask for any year (the last 3 years)if they want to. After waiting this long for an interview I am not going to take any chances. Since you can call the IRS and on the automated system request tax transcripts for up to 10 for free why take the chance? .I got mine back in the mail in 2 days. You can also have them fax them to you while on the phone with them as well. The affidavit of support is VERY important at the London Embassy, more so than evidence of a relationship. You are also going to need them when you file the AOS and I-864 so why not go ahead and get them now? I have probably sent way more information than I should have but after being away from my fiance for over 5 months and possibly another 2, I don't want one thing to come up that I have missed....that is just me though...I totally understand where you are coming from and according to the embassy website, you have what they require so you may be good to go...I am just a worrier, well in this process anyway...It will do that to you...There may be some other VJ members that could give better insight that have been through the interview already that I could, I just wanted to share my thoughts...oh! and good luck to everyone...I know that most of us right now are in a holding pattern just waiting and hoping to hear something soon...and I do hope it is soon for all of us!!!
