  1. I just wanted to see if there are going to be any issues with the documents I sent to my fiance over a month ago. We have not been scheduled an interview date yet as many of us haven't, but I wanted to see if we are going to have any issues with the dates on my supporting documents. They are all dated around the first week of October (ie. the employment letter, bank letter, paystubs). My mom's info for co-sponsor in case we need her is dated for the last week in September. Do I need to send more updated documents or is this going to be okay with the London Embassy? I thought of scanning and emailing updated paystubs just to show that I still have my job but I wasn't sure if anyone thought I should send anything else...Any thoughts from recent interviews? or current VJ members waiting for an interview date?

  2. I understand where you guys are coming from in reference to not completing the checklist without having everything, however, we origianally sent our packet 3 minus the checklist because all that we were waiting for was the police certificate. We had emailed to make sure that the police certificate had been received and they emailed back when they would be sending it back and they mailed it back the exact date that they said that they would. We went ahead and sent the checklist not having the police certificate in hand knowing when to expect it. We mailed our packet 3 in on 10/16 and the Embassy did not enter it into the system until 11/2. The checklist was sent in on 10/19 and was not entered in until 11/4. We have now had the police certificate for over 2 weeks and we still do not have an interview date even scheduled yet. I am glad that we did not wait because if we had, we would be waiting even longer...I agree with not sending it in and not having everything ready to go but at the same time, with the amount of time it is taking to get an interview and then add 2 to 3 weeks to that when they finally do get around to scheduling it...that is more than enough time to get everything together...I know a few weeks ago people were getting interviews scheduled very quickly after the Embassy received the checklist and it may get to that point again but right now...its not happening, or atleast for us anyway...

  3. I totally understand...I am the same way. You may already know this but make sure that the medical is booked soon...There is a post in the UK forums that talks about the changes that just happened on November 2nd. Good Luck with everything!!! We are both close to finally seeing an end point...yeah!!!! I so hope to hear something this week about an interview date. At this point, that is all we are waiting for...they have everything else done. Fingers crossed but I am not going to hold by breath...but I am always hopeful

  4. Hey Wendy and John...my fiance mailed the DS forms on 10/12, the embassy didn't receive them until 10/16 and did not enter them into the system until 11/2 and the checklist on 11/4 and we still do not have an interview date. I am hoping this coming week will find out something...but who knows? and then add 2 to 3 weeks to that until the interview...unless its longer...at this point, I think that the time lines have changed even from those that interviewed at the end of last month and the beginning of this month. I hoping for all of us that we will get some dates soon...According to our timeline, it looks like it will be (and of course there is no way of knowing) but we are heading to week 4 without an interview date and then add 2 to 3 weeks to that once we do. I am trying to stay hopeful...but it is a challenge every single day...

  5. I totally understand where you are coming from. I have said about 1,000 times "We don't know when it will be but we are hoping...this date or that date. Even as close as we are now, I just have to keep saying...we don't know...yet. I think planning once you have an interview date is a better idea. I would not book tickets or anything but have a reasonable date in mind. The one thing that is helpful in this process is that it is not a "normal" situation so friends and family tend to be a bit more flexible and the expectations are not as high because your plans are not in your hands and those who are close to us know that...I finally started telling people when they asked me when the wedding date is.."when the federal government tells me"

  6. If you are sending the DS forms in by the end of the week, then they will receive them long before the expiration date so if they don't process them in a timely manner, they will automatically extend it, I would think. You can write a letter but I am not sure that it is necessary. From the timelines that I see, as long as you have everything in, and they process everything and you should get an interview date before the expiration date. It has taken about 3 weeks for everything to be put into the system for us and now all that we are waiting on is an interview date.

  7. The K-1's are being approved a lot faster than they were earlier this year but that can always change. We waiting 4 months to get an approval and are on our second month waiting on an interview. My advise, don't have any expectations because in this process, there can always be delays. We are close to the end and we still have not made any plans and are not going to until that visa is in his hand. If you make plans and have expectations for certain dates...you will put extra stress on an already stressful process. I know that you want to, I know how you feel but I never thought that it would take this long just to get an interview date and we still do not have one...I know this is easier said than done but you are going to have to be patient. Believe me I have had my moments but unfortunately, this is just how this process works...

  8. They will approve pending but I wouldn't worry. The amount of time it has taken us to get an interview scheduled from the time we sent in docs which was over 3 weeks ago and then even if they schedule it soon add another 2 weeks minimum, you should have the police certificate back way before the interview.

  9. Very rarely if ever will an employer put in a letter that your position is permanant. Really in this day and age, no one's is. I don;t think there are many people that can GUARANTEE that they are going to have a job 5 years from now. I got a back up co-sponsor just in case. I am not sure if I am going to need them or not. If your fiance goes to the interview and the CO determines that you are not qualified but everything else is in order, they will just ask that you get a co-sponsor and approve pending the review of that information. If you are worried about it, just get one and then you won't have to.

  10. Mine were not sent certified mail and I got them in a few days. If you need them soon, they will fax them to you while you are on the phone with them as long as you are right next to it. You have to get someone on the phone but they will fax them to you. Or you can call and request them again to be mailed. The extension for tax returns was October 15th and they may just be really busy right now...

  11. I originally sent what the example on VJ said to do and then changed it and re-sent it to my fiance. I asked some VJ members that all told me that I needed to change it, so I did. There are posts where people went to the interview with that not marked and were asked to fix it and send it back to have the visa issued. There may be others that have filled the form out the other way and may have been just fine. I just don't want to take any chances...

  12. JewelX, I sure hope you are right about that (interviews being scheduled soon)..I would be over the moon if we could just get an interview date. I know it is easy to say..."don't worry" about receiving packet 3 but you really don't have to. I had David read me the letter and it just directs you to the website. We were filling out the forms and were going to send them on a Monday, he just happened to get the packet 3 letter that Saturday before. His was mailed from the Embassy to him on a Wednesday and he got it Saturday just 4 days later...From what we have experienced, in the time delays of everything getting to the Embassy and it taking over 2 and a half weeks for them to even open the envelope and still to this date have not processed the forms yet, I would not wait for packet 3...I was scared for him to send the checklist before we had the police certificate back but it has taken so long at the Embassy, he has already gotten the police certificate back as well...
