Go into the Employee section of the website to get what you need. Your manager may have to give you your employer's code number.
This site is a service that your company uses for basic personnel matters.
Your manager is just doing as they are instructed.
I did that. I have the employer's code number. I have all of that.
I put the information into the site and as I said they just give me a printout that I give to the person requesting my information (USCIS) and THEY have to put in some codes and my SSN to get my information. I can't get my own information!

I talked to my manager today at work about how I need that proof of employment and salary and stuff and she just gave me the directions on how to go to the website theworknumber.com. She explained that she thinks it's stupid but she can't do it herself.
Now I went to this site and it doesn't help AT ALL. It just gives you the directions to give to the person asking for this information and THEY have to get it themselves by calling or going to the site. I guess they have to even pay to sign up. #######?
This is ridiculous.
I don't know what to do if my manager can't do it and I really don't think this "The Work Number" thing is going to work.
Does anyone know WHY my manager can't do this? She would be happy to. She also explained that she can't even give any references if someone calls about a former employee, she has to tell them to call someone else. This doesn't make ANY sense, how would a complete stranger know how good an employee is? Just based on how much they worked? She said it's a stupid system but I don't know if I can get her to sneak around it. Is it some law?

Question. When he calls in to schedule an interview and all that, how far from that point should we expect it to be? We have a few things we need to do before his interview and we don't want to rush it. I'm not sure when he should schedule it...

I always read people asking about this sort of thing but I read so much on here and I end up getting confused.
Ok.
It's about the 1-134 affidavit of support.
I know right now that I am not even close to meeting the minimum requirements so I am having my parents co-sponsor. What I'm confused about is should I just fill out one but not really bother with providing evidence for myself since I would just be proving that I can't support us on my own? And then have my parents fill out another and THEY include evidence. Like do I need to even bother with getting bank statements, etc for myself?
I don't know why this part confuses me so much, blah!

We just got the NOA2! I can't believe it has happened so quickly!

I have always loved bananas but I'm also slightly allergic. But it's not too bad, it just makes the roof of my mouth and my tongue sting.

The only time I like uggs is on little little girls. But then again, they make anything cute.

I have friends in Eugene, and they say they dont call it METHford for nothing
Seeing as they got all your passwords, hope you got the trojan and keylogger off. What did you scan with to get rid of it?
Yeah some people are pretty bad here but all those aside, it's a nice place! I love it here.
Well they only got ONE password to begin with but by digging through my stuff, they did those "reset password" things and got into my other stuff. The computer's clean.
-
Haha I don't tink it sucks BEING me, but this was a suckage event. I mean, they had access to a lot of my stuff just by knowing how to get into ONE email.
-
oh sorry to hear that
on a sidenote, im a fellow Oregonian, what part of Oregon are you from? Me, Prineville(central oregon)
I'm just like 10 minutes from you then! Methford here. Small world.

I hate guns, I really do. And I hate how people say "Guns don't kill people, people kill people!" WELL HELLO if those people that kill people didn't have guns it would be more complicated than just a flick of the finger to do so. And people with guns kill people on accident too.
It just makes me get a sad feeling inside when I hear people say, "Yeah I'm gettin' ma kid a youth sized shot gun fer christmas!"
I care about people and life itself too much to take something like guns so lightly. They aren't kids toys. They aren't IDIOTS toys either.
It's funny that even with this opinion I dated an ####### for half a year that hunted religiously and owned a bunch of guns. Some in his room and a couple under a blanket behind the seats in his ugly pickup truck. What was I thinking?

I am angry.
Someone *coughanonymouscough* hacked into one of my emails and posted my email and password on "a message board" (says an anonymous source). I have a feeling I know which one but unfortunately it's one that doesn't have a search feature. This person didn't tell me where.
Anyways, from there I had 2 myspaces, 1 facebook, 1 youtube account, 2 of my emails, photobucket, and some others all out of my possession. I hate that these people did it so carelessly.
They probably had a blast going through all my personal stuff! WEE!
But I have it all back now and am trying harder than ever to protect it all from happening again.
I'm glad they didn't delete all my stuff or mess with stuff too much. But that doesn't make up for the fact that they are all still #######.
They sent messages and comments to friends and even spoke "dirty" to my BROTHER. He wouldn't tell me what they said. One friend got the assumption I am a lesbian after this detailed comment "I" left her. Oh well, at least they understand it wasn't me.
It took me only 24 hours to get it all back but it was so frustrating because all the websites have confusing and crappy customer service! I really just needed my emails back and I could get everything else from there.
-
I just checked my bank account and the check was cashed! YAY! So we got our case number but still haven't received the NOA1 even though they sent it out on the 18th according to the site.
-
I send mine in on February 12th. Woot!
-
But is that the worse that could really happen? Being charged the difference if caught? I rather take the chance of being able to spend less and finding out we have to pay the full price than paying the one way price and not trying.
-
I was wondering the same thing. It's just NUTS how much it costs for a one way.
But when I tried looking it up people said that it will get people curious if they see you have a round trip yet are coming to get married.
So I'm confused. Would this cause problems? We don't need extra problems but we COULD use that savings...

Well it's funny because my fiance used to be an "America hater" but that's just because he, like many others, just saw the government and assumed it was all ####### here. But now he loves it here!
But really it wasn't hard to decide. He feels that England is stuck in the past and no one knows how to move on in their lives.. or something like that. He is surrounded by that "Nah, no point in trying" attitude but around here he sees that there's that, "Why not? You can do it!" Kind of thing.
He also really loves the openness and natural beauty of Oregon. He's becoming somewhat of a nature lover.
Plus, I have so much family in America while he only has his mum and sister over there. Not that they aren't important but it would be easier to keep in touch with the two of them from over here than my huge family.
Overall it would just be so much easier for both of us to live and grow over here in America.

We use Blockbuster and I really like how you can just go in and exchange the movie whenever and get a new movie in the same day. My best friend works at Blockbuster too so it's nice to go in and have a little chat. It's fun in there, for me.

Good job and good luck with the rest of it! That's really fast.
I am trying to lose just 15-20 pounds. It's kind of annoying because as soon as I give up on trying to lose weight I all of a sudden seem to lose a whole bunch but as soon as I NOTICE how much weight I've lost it all comes back. Plus, I automatically lose weight during the spring and summer due to change in activity. I just need to figure out how to lose the weight AND keep it off all year round. And since I love sweets so much I wish to not completely eliminate them or anything.

I have yet to meet him but I am not fond of my fiance's father. But... neither is he. We have valid reasons. His dad just treats him like #######. I might not ever meet him though so it's all good.

This is what happens when I don't look ahead. Once I read it I just stopped, stupid.
I just realized it says that LATER I have to send him a copy of all of it.
Well, now that I'm on the subject and answered THAT question (though I am still wondering about copying check)...
Do I have to also copy (again) my birth certificate and all the evidence (photos, etc.)?
-
In the step by step it says
"Make TWO copies of the entire package before you send it in. This includes the money orders too."
What is the reason for making copies? And does this mean of checks as well?

Welcome! I'm pretty new myself but people on here are really helpful. Good luck!
Proof of employment. The Work Number? BLAH!
