From what I understand, you bring the documents they requested. You be sure you made copies of them. They will not ask you for the entire folder, only for copies of the documents requested. If they need the original, then you have them on you.

Hello.
Thanx for your reply.can you please help me with the US embassy email adress then i can contact them.the other thing is should i fill out DS 160 online before they contact me ?
From what I understand that the Packet 3 is sent by email to the US Petitioner.

The last thing you want here is someone to control you and make your life living hell...Like the above member mentioned, in the future you should have no problem being petitioned but expect to be questioned by the CO in the Phil. In the future if petitioned, I suggest that you have plenty of proof and your next man can visit you more than one time in person.
You hear many stories about fiance coming to the states and being abused by her husband. Also, you hare about many women who come here with intention for fraud as well, lying to their husband of wife just for the sake of coming to America...Its a two way street...So you need to think about it very carefully and your intention to coming to the US.
Good luck

Now you just have to wait for the case number from NVC. The minutes you have a case and invoice number, your fiance can begin the process of filling out DS-160. You can track your case number only at ceac website, it will show in transit then when received at the embassy it will show ready.
You will have all the required documents sent to you in packet 3.....
Your fiance will need POLICE CLEARANCE I think as well.
-
Its not important but it will not hurt to send them in with packet..I did send copy of the receipts and pictures of my fiance wearing the ring with both in the same picture...Is it important or not? That is all up to the adjudicator looking at your file...I say just have her wear the ring even its not the right size, take photos with it and submit them with the petition...

Guys, I am almost sure that your approved petitions are still setting at USCIS in the last stage for it to be REALLY transferred. NVC does not have your petitions as of yet unless you are lucky and get it tomorrow Monday. As far as the 5 to 6 months entire process, that might be true but not in all cases if there are delays and more back ground check. I looked at the portals of both Lebanon and Afghanistan to see if there was any delays in some of the members when it came to NVC case number...I really did not notice any delays, most got their case number within the frame of the 6 weeks and some in less than that. Then again, dealing with USCIS with all the security background check make me wonder if they started new process of more aggressive background check or not...I think that you really have to be aggressive and insist on talking to Tier 2 agent at USCIS, they can and they have the power to enter your receipt number and tell you exactly where your file is.
-
Guys try to call this number and speak to an agent. Ignore the message at the beginning telling you to call USCIS or NVC if you have questions...Get to an agent and explain to them what is going on...I read a post on Vj that they got there case number through calling this number,,,is it true

Girl from Celebs, I've only been calling the DOS (Department of State), they answer it faster. 1 202 4857600, right?
Correct. They are faster. I've got my case number from them 2 weeks from my approval date on USCIS website.
, I don't know but it will hurt to try... 1 202 485 7600 this is Department Of State number.
Here are other numbers you might consider calling if your case goes beyond the time expected. ..You never know

Sorry Farzram,
Try calling later on tonight,
I Heard they receive petitions On Friday's
I will call Also tonight Around 10 PM CHICAGO'S TIME.
I am not sure if NVC receive them on Friday, but I think USCIS send them out to NVC in bulk each Friday

Actually I think the K is considered an immigrant visa by ABD so you would create your account here: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ae/iv
We were also able to use that same website and book our interview and pay your fees. ABD lets you book your own interview. It's important to complete your DS-160 first as it will ask you for that confirmation number when booking your interview as well as your NVC case number.
When you apply online and fill out the DS-160 you fill it out under none immigrant visa, but during the questioning process, you will have to answer a question of the type of Visa you are applying for and from the pull down menu, K1 fiance visa will be listed. Also, there is another place to type in your NOA2 receipt number form the I-797

It seems to me that everyone is getting this message on their "in transit" on NVC. I called NVC and was told that all interviews are scheduled by Each individual embassy. And, the interpretation of that message is that NVC provided and approved your fiance an interview date that will be determined by the embassy. This is what I understood.

Okay, I was worried because since we filed the K-1 we haven't seen each other and we wont see each other till November so we don't have any new pictures or such. But Wedding pictures and the certificate should not be a problem at all. The name change I will still have to figure out how to go about that and where to request the change of my passport Name and all other documents.
Yes the ROC will be a big deal LOL I'm already thinking about all these next steps and making myself a little crazy over it. But I'm sure it will go smooth in the end.
Thank you for your advice
What I mean by name change is in the social security, employment card, drivers license or ID's etc... good luck!
-
Missing an oath ceremony is a big deal and rescheduling might take months. You need to call USCIS again and speak to immigration service office and explain to them what happened, asap. They will guide you through the process...don't delay it any longer, call them and get answers.
-
I don't know if you will need so much evidence for AOS beside your marriage certificate, wedding pictures for now, name change.
What you should start thinking about from now is documenting everything else, for the real big one which is Removal of Conditions I-751 in two years after you receive your temporary green card. That is when you need to have as much evidence as possible, including, bank joint accounts, real estate or rental agreement, joint tax filing, joint credit card accounts, insurance, pictures of you both with family members, vacations together and the list goes on...its all up on you to provide as much evidence and there is no such as too much...

I am sure that the question about the Original question by the OP was answered. But when it comes to the issues and advice from VJ members when it comes to Alcoholism being a big issue, I am sure she just sweep all that under the rug. Is it wrong or right is for here to decide, its her life and her future...Members gave a valid advice here and some from experience. Good luck to you OP!!
-
I think we should be OK since we sent in the I-751 a few days after our window opened. We'll be returning to the US before my husband's GC expires (09/30/2016) since we'll be coming back late September, we'll carry the GC, extension letter and passport.
My friend said she had no problem and her husband's GC was already expired
Thanks!
Have a nice vacation, yes, you should be fine...be safe!

Here is a link you might want to look into

Farzam and Achraf, both of you are still within the 60 days from your NOA2 notice. But let me say from what I heard that the 60 days apply to normal cases that have does not require extra time or background check. I have to say both of you still good for now, no need to stress...
-
My question is do I need the original NOA1 or can I travel with a copy of it?
I would definitely travel with the original copy since some might question the authenticity of the copy. Coming back to the US should not be the problem, but traveling from another country might be with a copy, even though it will say its an extension for the green card for one more year. I heard that some people can get an I-551 stamp from USCIS as legal status while your I-751 in process, but I don't know if I don't know if they will give you one since you have NOA1. You might want to try.
-
Sorry I should've specified. No I'm doing I-751 Removal of Conditions. For this you need the NOA1 to get back in the country which we have. Here's my timeline so far:
7/7/2016: I-751 sent to VSC
7/13/2016: Check cashed
7/14/2016: NOA1 received (dated 7/11)
Waiting for biometrics
Yes she can travel with the NOA1 notice which means her green card is extended for one more year... as long as she is back before her biometrics you have no problems.
-
If you have your timeline filled out members would be able to answer your question. If you both are married which am sure you are sine you mentioned biometrics, you must be doing AOS. If that is the case, then you should have applied for AP for the fiance to be able to travel. AP is what you need for your fiance to re-enter the United States. I don't think NOA1 notice can be used.
Maybe someone else can reply with better advice. But this is what I understood from reading around.
-
Achraf, technically it's not in normal processing times I guess. Because NVC told me it will take upto 6 weeks max for them to receive my petition and it has been past 6 weeks now.
And also looking at other timelines people waaaay after me and you have already been received at NVC and got their case numbers and are either at the embassy or en route. So technically I think we both aren't in normal processing time (especially you I think it's been like almost 9 weeks for you).
Maybe it's because my fiancée is from Afghanistan and yours is from Lebanon and pch1's theory is indeed correct. Just wish they could give us a specific date it's been sent or will be sent so we can stop worrying.
Farzam, you are correct, now its a game of waiting, that is all...I think background check on fiance overseas in high risk countries will take some time and am sure this is what delaying both your cases.
-
Pch1,
I Have Already contacted my Congressman and he Replied back to me offering help,
I'm afraid not to mix things up at this final stage and lead my case to be delayed,
Maybe many inquires are extreme reason to delay cases,
I will wait few more days. until next weekend and see...
Of course not to contact your congressman unless you exhausted all other options and your petition is near expiration.
I am sure you will have your case number anytime...Inshallah!! :-)
-
I just called today NVC and they didn't have my case,
I called the USCIS and talked to Tier2 Officer,
he submit an inquiry one more time and told me that my case should have been sent out the date i was approved,
Every Officer tells me A different story...
E-mailed was received that they are preparing to forward my case to NVC!! Preparing what??
My case was approved on May 27/16, Are you kidding me!!!!
I Don't know what's going on with the uscis Or it's only me,
This e-mail was received Last Monday and was replied From an e-mail I have sent back June 16 TO the USCIS. ASKING About the status of my case,
HERE:
Thank you for your inquiry. Your case is currently being prepared for transfer to the NVC. Please allow 30 days for the case to arrive at the NVC and be input into their systems. You should receive a notice from the NVC once they have received your case file. Thank you.
I am beginning to believe that after approval of the Petition and receiving NOA2, the file ends up in some other department within the USCIS for final stages of back ground check. Hence, "Being prepared for transfer" which might take some extra time for one reason or another. Looking at it that your fiance is from Lebanon, might triggered extra back ground check on both you and your fiance...but at the end of all the waiting and frustration, you will have your case..all what you can do is keep calling NVC for now. If your case drags on for long time then its time to contact your congressman. But I hope you have your case anytime soon...
