But I'm sure burying your head in the sand and pretending there is zero risk could work too.
Unlikely? Sure. No risk whatsoever? Proof has already been given to the contrary.
Do they need to complete the AOS, yes they do and that must be first priority for them. The question by the OP was is she can fly in the US and the answer is yes, it is unlikely she will be caught in domestic flight. You or others can make that argument if you like. Now, if the OP asked if she was traveling in a bus or car in Texas, Arizona, California ...Yes the odds are very high she will be stopped and questioned.
I was undocumented for 10 years and I flow all over the US and never been stopped or questioned. After getting my green card, wouldn't you know I was stopped while driving in my way to San Diego, Ca. by the immigration. Are there risks in airports? Yes there is, but how often people get stopped by immigration while roaming the airport?
-
Traveling within the United States is not a problem at all. All travel within the United states is domestic flights no immigration involved.

Oh! I din know need the invoice number for the payment of the fees. Is the invoice number given in the packet 3? Thank you!
No not in the Packet 3...NVC should have given it to your fiance when they gave him case number...Maybe he should call them or you can call and ask for invoice number.
-
Nope, i dont have the invoice number. But i did the DS-160. Just waiting for packet 3 then i will submit. I thought DS-160 just need the petition number and not invoice number? Thank you!
How did you pay the fees without the invoice number? When you pay at Singpost for the fees, you will need that Invoice number and they will give you MRV receipt. You will need this receipt to submit back with packet 3 check list.
-
My bf have not gotten a letter from NVC but i saw someone with the same NOA2 as me receiving packet 3 so i am assuming the same
So you have case number and Invoice number? If you do, then you can complete the DS-160 online and make the payment. You will need to Invoice number to make the payment.
-
Thank you pch1! Now just hoping the packet 3 will arrive soon
Joycelin12,
You already have NOA2 and got your Case and invoice number? Your timeline shows not!

Since you have more current information, consider taking some time to correct and update the appropriate information in the Embassy Information page. Future VJ members will certainly appreciate the updated information.
Cheers,
Pitaya
VJ Moderation
Pitaya,
I would love to do that but I did not know am able to do it. I don't even know how to add information to the Embassy. I will look into how to do it and add accurate up to date information...I will definitely do that to make things smooth for everyone in SG !!
Thanks for letting me know I can add info!!
-
Thank you for all the information! And hope there won't be AP for you guys. Hope you get the interview date soon too
Thanks Joycellin12,
Hope all goes well...Will see what happens at the day of the interview and make an update so people are aware of what exactly they are asking at the Embassy as far as documents, copies, originals etc...
Feel free to ask me if you have any questions when its time for your case in SG.
Good luck in your journey!

Just an update to the information listed in regards to Police report from Singapore.
My fiance finished the appeal and the application online. She was given a date to go for fingerprints which was yesterday Friday. She was given the Police Certificate half an hour later. She told the officers this is suppose to be mailed directly to the Embassy and she was told "NO" they don't mail them out and she has to take it with her. She showed them the letter from the Embassy and still they said "NO"
So, she will take the Certificate with her. I just mailed the Embassy with my case number letting them know and if they can respond to this inquiry. They are pretty good, they reply within three days normally and hope they say its OK she can bring it with her...We don't want our case going into AP...somehow AP cases in general I hear taking long time to process even for missing documents etc...
-
We just finished all the DS-160 and waiting for interview date. My fiance answered YES and FIANCE.
You can answer YES. And say FIANCE. If you answered No, I don't think it will be an issue or not. Am sure some people did the same like you did and had no issues since this can be confusing question.

Fraud and Lying to USCIS
If USCIS believes that your answer to a question is deceptive or untrue, your Application for Naturalization will be delayed and could be denied. It doesn’t matter if the error was innocent. You must make sure that your application for naturalization is true and accurate when filed.
During the naturalization process, USCIS will review your history. If the officer determines that a green card was issued (even many years before) in a fraudulent manner, citizenship may be denied. Likewise, other situations (new or old) that put the applicant’s good moral character in question will hold up the process.

1- The Embassy received our file on August 1st. When I looked on CEAC it showed that the file was touched on August 3rd. The date of the packet 3 envelope showed it was mailed out on the 4th of August to my fiance. She received the packet on the 8th of august. You don't have timeline so I don't know when the Embassy received your file. If you have completed DS-160 and made the payment, then you should have the packet within 10 days or so.
2- In regards to the police report. Yes, the letter sent in the packet states that Police Report will be sent directly to the requesting office, Embassy. They provided a website of where to apply for it and it takes approximately 2 weeks to be sent. This is the link included on the letter.
http://www.police.gov.sg/e-services/apply/certificate-of-clearance
A-The documents you will need to upload I believe my Fiance sent two copies. The first page of the packet telling you the Embassy is pleased to inform you they can begin to process your fiance visa case. It has your name, address, case number, the names of the person(s) petitioned.
B- The second page also to be uploaded, it has the information and instructions about getting the Police Clearance, and it has your name and your case number. You don't need to upload the check list or anything else beside the two pages I mentioned. You will need to upload a photo of you, so be sure you have one.
Be sure that you get a confirmation number when you are done with filing online and submitting the documents. A week or so later, you will be sent a notification to go in person and do fingerprint. My fiance completed the application online and received confirmation and she printed it out. (MY FIANCE HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE NOTICE AS OF YET TO DO HER FINGERPRINT.)
3- This is important and kind of confusing as stated the letter in regards to Divorce decrees and any final marriages for the PETITIONER not your the beneficiary. I will type exactly what they are asking for
"MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE: Married persons including THE PETITIONER, are required to present a marriage certificate and proof of the termination of any previous marriage must also be submitted (e.g. death certificate spouse, court-certified divorce decree of annulment)." Also, if you are Filipino, you are required to to provide a "Certificate of no marriage" which should be sent directly to the Embassy.
Now this is the confusing part for us. My fiance is talking to another person from VJ going through this process and if fact they have met in person last night in Singapore. This person went to the interview, she had copies of her fiance prior divorce and they state on them they are certified copies from the original copies. The Embassy did not accept them, they wanted them Certified I guess with original ink stamped on them. She was told to submit them to Aramex with her Passport whenever she gets them. She asked her Fiance for Original Certificate and she got one from him. She submitted almost two weeks ago and her case still showing AP. Come Monday, I will go to the court house and ask for certified copies showing the ink stamped on them.
All or most of the information on EMBASSY INFORMATION on VJ are wrong now and in need of updating. Members should ask other members who are going through or went through the Embassy process, recently.
You can send me a message if you like. Today I will get more information from fiance after meeting this other lady in SG. We don't need any surprises.
Good luck
What I meant to say about Embassy Information on VJ that its outdated in need of update to current requirements.

HI,
I am also waiting for my packet 3 now in Singapore and still have no idea when i will receive it since my case arrived at US embassy around the same time as yours.
Just several quick questions here: You mentioned that there is no need to bring police record since there are several changes applied recently. So does it mean Singapore police will send the final report to Embassy once having all things ready? Btw, which documentary proof did you use to upload to Police station website to request for certificate of clearance as a foreigner? The checklist only or another specific letter provided by Embassy from Packet 3?
Thanks for answering my questions. Have a good day ahead!

I just want to let members applying for K1 Visa in Singapore for recent changes sent with Packet 3. My Filipino Fiance living and working in Singapore just received this packet on the 10th of August, 2016...
1- Police Clearance in Singapore is done online only. No more walk-ins except for doing finger printing when notified. Police Clearance is submitted directly to the requesting office, US Embassy. No longer allowed to bring it with you.
2- My Filipino Fiance living and working in Singapore, have to request CERTIFICATE OF NO MARRIAGE from NSO and it must be submitted directly to the US Embassy, No longer allowed to bring it with you.
3- Final Divorce decrees and documents for THE US PETITIONER must be brought to the interview.
4- Affidavit of Support I-134 must be signed with the full name...(This was really confusing to me since at the bottom it says, Sign) but the letter sent in packet 3 it states "Must be signed with full name." I had to send another copy signed with full name as it shows on the petition.
5- Each alien must submit a separate form I-134, affidavit of support.
6- If you are applying for kids even if they are not travelling with you at the same time. In my Fiance case, her son in the Philippines and will join us in the near future..."the Applicant must bring the birth certificate of the child even if not traveling at the same time."

Here is a copy of what NVC notice looks like
-
Had my interview July 28 at manila embassy with no issues. No additional documents were asked from me. No emails from them telling I need to submit documents.
-Until now my Ceac status never change its stuck on Ready(case ready for interview) but I'm done with my interview.
-I tried Ceac non immigrant it shows No Status
I'm so worried now.
Was your visa approved?
When you look at ceac above Ready, does it show IM (immigrant Visa) or NIV (None Immigrant Visa)?
I hear sometimes "Ready" status does not change on CEAC even if Visa is issued. Just be patient it might take two weeks even embassy info says issued same day.

I just want to let everyone know that NVC does send out a notice after petitioner given a case number.
NVC tier 1 officers have no clue of what is going on and I wonder if they have script or manual to follow or what. Prior to receiving my case number, I called maybe 7 or 8 times, and in 5 different times I asked, Do you mail out a notice after the case was assigned a number? All 5 tier 1 told me " NVC does not mail out notice to your home, only to the Embassy where my file will be sent"
How wrong and misinformed they are...My case number was given to me on 7/18...Notice date I have was typed on 7/20 and the post date on the envelope is 7/22. Notice was received on 7/29...
So for member wondering if NVC do mail out notices, in my case yes the did.
-
Your case is no longer at USCIS. You can email NVC with all the information including your WAC# since you do not have case number as of yet. Also, your fiance will report the new change of address when filling out DS-160

Pch the TOS do not state anything about a 'quality standard' in postings except for language/insults etc. Anyone can post anything they wish generally- whether they know its wrong or know its right or simply arent sure. But lets keep this thread on topic...
Im not an expert on the PIs but I believe there is no issue when it comes to a former PI now USC using the K visa for another PI. I recall a thread asking if they needed 2 cenomars and it was advised NO because they are only interested in the PI side. However that user was going to bring them both for overkill.
As for the original question:
You need to meet in person.
You need to have a final decree. Depending on your states wording about the 6 months your decree may or may not be final until that date.
You can start gathering the forms and filling them out. It can take a while to complete them and gather copies depending on how organized you are.
Is your former wife a USC? This will impact your aff of support.
You are right with the "TOS" no one was in violation.
At least, I hope the OP got his answer to his question and hope things work out for them...End of topic for me!
-
My NVC transfer to Singapore took 13 days and normally takes a week or so....You are still good...CEAC will change to Ready when they have it...give it few days its weekend I think in Thailand!
-
Damara,
yes he did and got away with it and maybe few others. Still, no matter how many times he is coming back to respond to this thread, he is misleading people and giving people bad information that worked for him, somehow. If people want to listen to him, let them do so and that is perfectly fine. But I know what "Free to marry" means when USCIS states it under "legibility" to petition. I don't need a lawyer or someone you know what to come out in public and tell us that we are all wrong because we are not listening.
I only listen to what USCIS is saying and that was very clear.
I really wish an Admin or Moderator can have a saying on this and stop this misleading information. We are suppose to follow the rules set out by USCIS and its seems to me this person is giving out information that might or might not get people RFE.
-
If I am correct, I think BPI and online bacnnet are the only banks to accept the fee payment. Also, I believe you need to print out a visa payment voucher to take with you, otherwise they will not accept the payment.
Maybe someone from the Phil can give you 100% accurate information. But this is what I read online.

Hey PCH1
Have you gotten your e-mail from the embassy?
My case is ready but they haven't sent me anything. no packet 3 or e-mail, they received my case august 1
Not sure how things work at my embassy.
i called U.S Embassy in Beirut and A lady told me to e-mail them lol do i have to do their job or what? they suppose to e-mail me instead...
Achraf,
I am assuming you guys have completed the K1 visa application online..DS-160 , I think the 156 app is an old version even from what I understand some embassies are still using it.
It is different processing from one embassy to another. In our case which is in Singapore, they do not send out email to notify the beneficiary, they will just mail packet 3 to her. We already done with DS-160 and paying the fees. I asked her to call the embassy on August 3rd and they told her the Packet is in the mail to her.
In your case and am just quoting the embassy information for Lebanon, they will contact you after they have received the case from NVC within 2 days or so, then they will mail out the packet 3. Remember its a Friday (day off in Lebanon for the weekend so take that in consideration). Once you receive your packet 3, you can email them to book the interview before you even send back packet 3.
There is no packet 4

First of all, check your the case status on CEAC
Approx Waiting Time for interview date from when the Consulate receives the package from the NVC: Usually, Packet 3 or 4 by physical mail never arrives or takes forever. About a week after approval of I-129F (NOA2), contact NVC to see if your petition has arrived to the embassy. As soon as it has arrived, email the embassy and request Packet 3 by email (give them your case number in the subject line, you can get that from NVC). This is much faster then physical mail, and often Packet 3 will never arrive by physical mail. As soon as you have completed packet 3 and mailed 2 copies of ds-160 back to the ebmassy (via Cargo Expreso or national email service), email the embassy again and they will send you Packet 4 via email.Issues a Packet 3?
Packet 3 Contains: 1.Cover Letter (Basic Fiance Info)
2.Checklist and Instructions (Instrucciones para visa de prometido K1)
3.DS-160 (online)
4.Photo requirements.
5.DS-160 Instructions of filling
6.I-134 (not included, to be fill by US fianc(e)According to your country info

"It is ridiculous that you tell someone there is absolutely no chance of getting caught"
Tell me where did I say there is absolutely no chance of getting caught? You better go back and read what I have said and enough ranting!!
