Thank you guys. Hearing you've been approved by the consul is the best thing ever. Hope it doesn't take too long for you all.

He wants 2 weeks, it's not 2 years.

I was as nervous as it gets but it was all done in less than 5 minutes. He asked me a few questions, about how we met, how he proposed, if he spoke Portuguese (when I told him he proposed to my dad first) and what did I do in the States. Super easy. They say that when it's a bona fide relationship, and you tell the truth only, you will get it. So true.

As usual, a few people were sent back home because they didn't fill out the DS-156 on the computer. And a few other didn't have the right pictures (not showing the ears), so reading the instructions is never a bad idea.

Thank you everyone for all the help, I'm so happy I just want to hug everyone I see in front of me haha. Good luck to all of you who are still hanging in there!

I got back from the consulate a few hours ago. Visa approved! The wait is long but it is so worth it. Good luck to everyone!

You don't NEED to have phone records, it's just one more way to prove an ongoing relationship. To prove you two have met in person, boarding passes, visa stamps, photos etc will do it. Good luck!
