  1. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

I just wanted to share our interview experience last October 14, 2009, 1:15 pm.

We arrived at the interview office at exactly 1:15 because we had a hard time looking for a parking space. It took us 5 mins to finish the security check and was able to put my interview appointment in the tray at 120pm. Though we're late, we were called at 145 pm. There were a few couples and families at the waiting area at that time.

Our IO was very nice and friendly, made us feel at ease at the duration of the interview.

We sat down but he asked us to stand again to swear to tell the truth.

We were asked for IDs so we gave my husband's driver's license and I gave our passports as well. He also asked for the AP and EAD cards. He then continued by asking the yes/no questions in the application form. He askedif I have my husband's G325A because he said he didn't have it. I said I don't have a copy and that submitted it during the petition application. He asked again if it's not in my folder (he saw my huge file). I said no, I was planning to print it but I didn't (silly me).

And so we moved on ...

    The documents he asked were:

(have copies of the original so they don't have to photocopy it; your IO will appreciate it)

    1. marriage certificate - i gave him a copy after showing the original

    2. divorce agreement

    3. proof of living together - we gave our health insurance copies, sea world membership, phone bills (with just our numbers and explained that it didn't have my name on it), invoices of items ordered by me and my husband online (since we don't have bills with any of my name on it)

    4. photos

    5. bound scrapbook from our trips prior to getting married (he liked it a lot; he said he hasn't seen something like it before)

    Questions he asked:

    1. how did we meet

    2. when did we first meet

    3. how many times we've seen each other before the marriage

    4. was it my first marriage and asked my husband the same

    5. he also asked what my job was before and where do i plan to work here

    6. he also asked my husband where he works

    7. asked if we have any children

He then said that he'll check with his supervisor if it'll be ok that my husband didn't have his G325A. He said everything seems ok, though.

After a few minutes, he came back and explained to us about the conditional status and filled out the approval form and asked us to sign. He took the AP and gave me back the EAD because he said it has expiration date on it.

We thanked him and shook his hand afterwards. We were finished at 230pm.

Good luck to those who will have their interview soon. My advice is to make sure you have a copy of everything that you submitted and read all the interview experiences here. It'll help you a lot :)

Finally, it's over (at least for two years) It was a pleasant experience not only because the IO was nice but because we made sure that we have all the necessary documents. And I got all the tips from reading all the interview experiences of everyone here at VJ. So, THANKS A LOT TO ALL THOSE WHO SHARED THEIR EXPERIENCES. It helped me cover all the bases (except for the G325A of my husband hehehe, never read anything here that asked for the G325A during the interview).

  2. Hi VJ Family!!

Just thought id share our happiness.. Me and my daughter went to our interview today in LA and our AOS have been approved.. Just need to wait for our thing to be mailed to us. So for all those who are still waiting.. Just keep the faith.. Good things comes to those who believes in him... May God Bless each and everyone. Again, for all the advices.. thank you so much... I wish speedy process for all.

  3. Yay!! good thing im gonna get a driving lesson soon coz hubbys not here.. hehe...but seriously, alot of couples said that its way better that way.. Having to teach ur spouse to drive isnt a good idea.. Not unless, ur partner will have enough patience.. but often than not, this "me will teach u to drive thingy" often ends up... one will teach and yell bec of lack of patience.. the student, gets more nervous and pressured having to see his/her partner frowning or yelling.. This kind of pressure wont be a great help.. but being more understanding definitely will. Goodluck and have a great day..

  4. Hi there guys.. our interview will be this coming week and iam in the process of completing the requirments with the USCIS check list.. I noticed the thing "ALL DOCUMENTATION ESTABLISHING YOUR ELIGIBILITY FOR PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS". Can someone please explain to me what this means? Im a bit confused about this. Would this mean the copy of my Visa?? or does this pertains to something else?? pls help.. I would appreciate all future replies. Thank you and God bless to all.

    Again thank you thank you

  6. Hi there Vj Family...

I hope to recieve replies from this query of ours.. As of this morning My daughter and I recieved a letter from USCIS and its regarding the schedule for initial interview for our AOS next month October. As happy as i were, I was also rattled with the thought that I needed to take my husband with us during interview and i was aware of that. Its just that my husband is out for deployment right now. We have submitted a letter from his command before re: his deployment and noted there till when will it be. Ive read alot of topic in different forums and it says that its not a good idea to reschedule it, bec chances are i will still be sent a letter of denial. And its the same thing, with no show up with hubby. Iam so confused and didnt know what to do. Please let me know whats the best thing to do about our situation. I dont want my hubby to come home withous us here. Please help us. And if i was to write a letter do you guys happen to know how?? sorry i have no one here to help me with this. So please help us thank you and GOd bless.

  7. Hi there guys!

Its been awhile im not sure if im on the right forum but then ill still give it a try to ask our concern. I just want to ask that since im done with biometrics and is still waiting for EAD and other documents to come in(hope it will be soon enough).. Will i be allowed to apply for california ID now and a drivers permit? or should there be a need for us to wait for our green card before we can do that? Plus, my daughter came here with K2 visa and shes just 11 y/o. Will she be allowed to apply for social security number now, though she havent havent gotten her green card yet? Thank you for all your replies in advance. May God bless all of you.

  8. Hi Guys! we're about to start preparing the necessary paperworks and i have few questions before we proceed.. just thought id ask for pointers and advices..

Im currently on K1 and my daughters on K2. First off, i want to know if my husband needs to file a separate AOS for me and my daughter. second, as i browsed in the I-485 document i noticed in Part 1. Its asking for a " A#" where can i possibly see that info? is this somewhat written in our visa or it's with I-94? im sure this is an easy question for some but we're making sure we would input the correct answer. Hoping for your help and Suggestions.. God Bless and thanks for future replies.

  9. Hi! just thought id share to you yung naging case ng daughter ko with her medical at st.lukes, kse it seems to me that similar yung case nyo po.. my daughters xray was not cleared bec of pneumonia.. so they asked her to have a repeat xray after 2 mos. Im sure na hindi nakakahawa yun, but ang sabi ng pulmunologist it takes awhile lang to completely heal. so malaki yung chance na mag sputum test ka , but then again, have faith.. and pray malay mo the moment u have your medical ok na lahat. Take care and God bless

  10. Four days to two weeks seems to be the nominal timeline. But, each visa has its own timeline and a few take longer.

Thanks for all your replies.. im really worried bec my fiance will be deployed by august and were hoping to be there soon enough, It frustrates me aswell knowing the agent from Air21 that i spoke to said that, tracking number that starts with 16080XXXxxxx (which means processed by immigrant visa unit) usually takes longer than the usual, apparently this is based on their experience handling the visa delivery. They could not even give an idea how long should the wait be.. hes going away for deployment soon and were still here :crying:. I want to be with him na...Actually i can leave anytime soon since i have the visa and cfo stamp but cant leave my daughter. I hope the USEM would have the heart to give her visa soon... I feel so sad... Anywho, God bless to all

  11. hey guys just thought id ask.. how long does a person normally have to wait to recieve her visa after passing the interview and was given a pink slip.. My daughter had her interview last fri(May 22), i tried to check it online via Air 21's website with the tracking number but it says.. tracking number not found.. (sigh). Sorry i know this is shallow question for some but im afraid lang that it will take about a month again, just like mine..(got a white/blue slip that time so it got minor delays) not sure with the powerful pink slip.. hehe. pls enlighten us. thank you so much. God Bless you all.

(my daughter is just 11 yrs old) Plus, what documentations does she needs to submit at USEM (e.g. her DS156, DS157,BC- anything else more?) does she still need to submit a copy of affidavit of support aswell such as (bank statements, w2,1040 etc) im kinda confused. :help: .. thanks for all your future replies. 16. hello i am wondering how long it will take for my fiancee to recieve her visa after she turns in her police clearance from brunei. She is from and in the philippines right now, we have waited 7 weeks and will recieve the clearance on friday the 8th. We will turn it in to the US embassy on monday the 11th. i know that the us embassy verifies the clearance, but i would just like to have an idea before the clearance is Mailed and is Received ok. Oh and yes she already had the k1 inteveiw and she was told that she passed except she needs the clearance turned in, and they only accept them monday thru thursdays not on fridays.

That would all depends on how fast the CO would check on her papers again. It will be under review, and im sure they will verify the submitted PC. Some have gotten their visas after 3 days and some after a month or 2 and for some few mos. after submitting it. In my case, i submitted the additional doc (PC also) the same day of my interview(MAR 19). its just that i gave mine by 1pm bec i have to get that from japan embassy first. Anywho, i got my visa after almost a month, Be more patient. it wont be too long for now. Take care and God bless.

  17. hey there! actually i experienced receiving that paper aswell during my interview? it only means that, they just want you to submit additional document, give them what they asked for and youre good to go. in my case it took almost a month before i got my visa. Just be patient. Lets hope that the review will be over soon. take care and God bless.

    Hi Everyone,

I'm a little confused. I received a blue note (221g) with this MNL-IV-22 form after my interview last April 27, 2009. The form indicates that I need to submit a notarized completed form of Part C of I-129F from my fiance. I have to resend the page to him and have it notarized in the US. My fiance forgot to place 'None' in one of the questions. We are put on hold because of it. Below the form on the 'What to do Next' portion, the third portion is checked: "Submission of Required Documents: When you have all the documents required above, submit them at Window 17-20 or submit through private courier." We have submitted the lacking document already last Monday and we did not hear anything from the Embassy yet. Is this something that I should be worried? I do not know the result of my interview if we were approved or not and if I need to go back to the embassy again. The CO officer just told me to submit the lacking document.

Has someone experienced this? I appreciate if you can share your experience with this matter.

TIP: We realized a slightest incomplete document can cause delays. So please fill out the forms accurately. Make sure 'N/A' or 'None' are placed for those not applicable.

  18. Hi Vj members just thought id ask.. how many months is the ideal time before one can file for advance parole? (e.g. 2-3 mos after applying for AOS?) thanks for your future replies.

You could of applied with the AOS, but, if you have the NOA for the AOS, you can apply anytime, and not pay for it.

Thanks for that info, im gathering info now just incase my daughter will be left out here in PI, since shes just 11 i would want to have the chance to go back to pick her up. Again thank you
