Thanks, I got the postal mail today and got the low down on where the local USCIS office and a laundry list of many things they want to see at the interview. We sent a 6+ pound AOS package in Jan. I suspect the interview package will be of somewhat similar weight -- I am guessing it will be about 3 pounds or so.
We got our letter too, May 16th interview!
They do want a lot of information!! Many of the items needed say "unless already submitted" and I do feel like we already submitted almost everything for this LONG k1 process!
Guess its time to start to collect evidence:)
Can both of you provide a list of the items that were requested so that other VJ members have an idea of what will be requested should we also need an interview!
Thanks....

You're correct. Every time an immigrant applies for an immigration benefit they are screened to see if they are inadmissible, which includes a criminal background check. An immigrant must be admissible when they enter the US, and they must remain admissible the entire time they are here, right up until they become a US citizen. If they do anything in the meantime that makes them inadmissible then they could be deported.
Correct, in others words they want to make sure that you are following the law in between each time they do a background check on you!
Seems like a burden as it slows down the processing of the forms but they want to make sure you are behaving accordingly and are not doing something wrong!

I included a blank page 5. My plan is to resubmit their enclosed pages as well as the tax return and complete I-864 with a letter stating that I was not required to fill it out because my income was higher than the poverty guidelines and also I plan to instead of sending it blank, I will insert 0.00 with the A number in the upper right page. Please let me know if this seems to be the right approach.
Thank you,
Please keep us (me) updated.
I did the same thing. Now I'm bitting my fingers that my husbands AOS does not get a RFE for the same reason!

Damn, they cashed the check the same day as our text/email notifications

no nothing still waiting calling them Friday
I was going to send an email yesterday inquiring about my concerns that my check has not been cashed and worried that when they finally do I will not have funds available.
I could have sworn that I did send it, but I still had it on draft mode. hehehehe
But now I can be happy for the next day or two, until I start pacing back and forth waiting for the bio-metrics!

Cgolivas: how long have you waited to hear from the lockbox ?
Thank you! They received our package thru FedEx on Mar 11. So exactly one month later we received our first communication (text/email)!

i would email Lockboxsupport@dhs.gov first with your enquiry before contact customer service i email them yesterday and still no response
Hi Luis25,
Did you receive a response from your email to Lockboxsupport@dhs.gov?
-
Has anybody submitted inquiries to the Chicago Lockbox email address?
If so, what was your inquiry about? Did you receive actual response from a representative?

Hi guys! I am one of the March AOS filers, I entered the US as a K-1 visa holder and got married within the 90 days stay. My package (including Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance) was received on monday 21. A week later, while I was revising the whole application I relised we made an error on the pay to check; we put USCIS instead of USDHS (not in initials). I then sent an email to Locbox Support asking them if this will affect the petition, the reply reads "THE PAYEE LINE ON YOUR CHECK WILL NOT BE GROUNDS FOR REJECTION" meaning that it was accepted though. Now its been three weeks and still no news but worries on my part. Is such a wit time normal or is it the particularity of this month??
I think their response was solely based on your question, and not that they officially opened your AOS packet for processing.
I am glad they actually responded to your email question though, since I am sure they receive a lot emails with inquiries.

The third group with pink dates are biometrics appointment dates.
-
Just look at the list I Have going.
The second group with blue dates, are the dates in which one received the official NOA1
The third group with pink dates are biometrics appointment dates.
NOTE: Some have decided to do a walk-in before actual appointment date - But you still need an appointment letter to do a walk-in.
-
I hope they mean it!
-
That is the big question everybody wants to know an answer to!
-
Congratulations!
That is when they start reviewing your file!
You will receive an official hardcopy "Notice of Action I-797" (NOA) in the mail, which will just confirm that they received your packet and it is in the process of being reviewed.
After that, they will send you a letter for your fingers prints (Bio-Metrics)

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for keeping everyone updated on their current status.
As you have noticed I started a list for everyone to see where we stand.
Note: I don't update the list based on email/text notifications as sometime those are also confusing.
But in either case keep the updates coming so that we may continue supporting each other!
-
Congratulations to all of you for your latest updates.....
-
Btw, I also emailed them this morning, telling them that we are very concerned if they got our applications, with all the infos and SSN's, and checks. I got the texts 4 hours later.
Good luck to all of us.
What email address did you send your inquiries to?

I totally understand the frustration of waiting. Mine was exactly one month apart from March to April, while our NOA for our I-129f was a few days!
But since the very beginning of our process (I-129F) I was warned that sometimes this will happen and the explanation she gave was obvious and we sometimes forget that.
Obviously immigration receives a lot of packages for different reasons, hence the different delivery locations. When the mail room receives this packages, they get put in a bin/cart. From there it gets taken to the appropriate department/floor/office for processing. Obviously who ever gets this lucky cart, they start from the top of the bin/cart and work themselves down until it is empty. I don't want to guess how big/small the bin/cart is, so don't want to guess how long it takes to empty the bin/car..... Also, how many bins/carts are they working from.
I am sure we can come up with different scenarios, but in our case, I guess we were at the bottom of the bin/car!
