Hi Folks, I've been posting in the April filers thread, but my file date was March 18th. So technically I'm a March filer! I also had a 33 day wait for my email/text NOAs! (see below) I'm anxiously waiting for my AP since I need to travel to Canada on June 5th. Based on what I see here, it might work out by then. What do you guys think?

We finally received our NOA1 and the check was cashed. The received date on the I-797C was the same date that USPS showed my packet was delivered. So they opened the packet and started processing the day they received it. The notice date was April 29th, so they took over a month to send notice, which would verify the information I was given on the phone, that due to large amount of petitions filed in March. They are running behind.

Congratulations on NOA.

They don't start processing packages the day they are arrived. They know when they arrived as they are stamped on arrival date but don't process them in this case until "Notice Date" because that is when they opened they packet and skimmed through it to know what you are applying for.

Now comes the important part of doing finger prints, background checks, reviewing all the information provided for decision making.

Each office is different. My husband attempted to do an early walk-in but was denied.

You only need to take the appointment letter and an ID for identification.

The office is only for fingerprints and I think to take pictures and that is it!

We just got married. And I want to be on my husband last name. I do not know when should I change it and where... Do I need to do that before sending documents for AOS or after? I even doubt what last name put in all documents for AOS.

I don't know what the rules/laws in your state are but this was my experience when I got married in California.

We had to apply for marriage certificate at our county office. When we filled out the form, both the husband and wife have to state what their new name would be after marriage if they want to change their last based on marriage.

You can find the most up to date filling fee at the USCIS.gov website, which you need to visit to download the form to submit.

Congrats fpr ur NOA1...But i think they are taking to long with march filers Godd sometimes more than 1 mothn i guess everybody is doing Aos procces for these day..

Yeah, somebody recently called to check on their status and they were told that they received an overflow of AOS packages all of month of March, Wonder what caused all of us to file during the month March!

I'm still confused about all of this. The dr. in Peru didn't give my husband any official immigration papers, just a doctor's paper with what vaccine's he gave him.

I'm pretty sure his vaccines are complete. The thing that's confusing me now is the TB test. They didn't do a TB skin test, just a chest x-ray. If my husband goes to just get his vaccines transcribed onto the i-693, should he get a TB skin test from a local clinic before that and bring proof of that too for the dr. to transcribe? Or just not worry about the TB skin test until he maybe gets an RFE?

I found a dr. that does a whole physical for $110 which seems pretty reasonable to me or a dr. that transcribes the records for $60. I'm kind of leaning towards spending the $110 just to be on the safe side although I'd really like to avoid it?

In order to avoid any possible RFE my husband paid $130 to get the exam, TB test, blood test, and have the vaccines transcribed.

Take note, My husband had his immigration medical exam in Mexican, and was not given anything. Remeber, in order to obtain K-1 visa you do not need to have vaccines only medical exam. So we knew he will need vaccines here in US in order to adjust status.

Before looking for CS my husband went to see our insurance doctor to take all the vaccines required to make sure we would not pay extra at with the Civil Surgeon.

I understand the concern since we have invested a lot of money to get green card, but you are thinking tooo much into the situation and making it more difficult for yourself and partner.

If you "officially" changed your last name when you got married then you need to use your new last name, just make to take the necessary paperwork (passport, marriage certificate, etc..) when going to the CS.

I have another question about the AOS, I received a CD along with the vaccination form after my medical, so do I need to send that disc in with the I-693? I'm not sure what to do with it, they just said I would need the paper for my AOS.

No you don't need to send it in, that is your copy.

I asked about the DS-3025 when I went for my medical here in Toronto, they told me that they automatically give everyone the form filled out.

I`m confused about this as well.

I have the form all filled out by the doctor.

I have all the right vaccinations, I actually needed to get the MMR again and did so the day of my medical, and that was also recorded on the form.

The only ones I don`t have on the form are the shots that were not age appropriate for me and the doctor marked the form with that information.

The lady at the office told me that this is the form I send in with the AOS and I believe them since they do many of these per day.

I`m confused because I keep reading conflicting info on this subject on here.

I`ve read the instructions and it says to use this form and you will be fine. But I`ve also read that things being marked "not age appropriate" is not ok.

I don't get this really, if I NEED these shots then how would I possibly pass my medical?

It doesn't make sense to me.

I don't want to pay an American civil surgeon for something I don't actually need.

So frustrating!! This is the only part of the AOS that I'm completely confused by lol.

If you have all the vaccinations required based on gender/age/medical and what not, then send the DS-3025. They can not force you to get a vaccine if it is not age appropriate. I am sure there is a lot of other members who will tell you that they did not take all the vaccines that were on the list for the same reason "age"

You are thinking extremely tooo much into it to the point of a headache im sure . Don't get me wrong I was worried too, my husband did not have a single record of any of the vaccines he has received since birth and I did not know what to do until we talked to our doctor.

Nope, you need to show an official hard copy notice that you will receive in the mail!

Read # 8 in the I-485 instructions specific to K-1 and tell me what you think.

The vaccination supplement consist of Part 1, Part 2 and Part 5 of form I-693

Part 1 is only basic information of the one submitting the form

You can either submit a copy of DS-3025 (needs to say completed) or submit form I-693 with parts 1, 2 and 5

i just want to inform that my wife just passed her I- 485 interview a while ago. we went to castle barbeque at western ave to celebrate.hehe!!! the interview was 10- 15 mins long only.

Yeah, they told her we have to wait for the EOD. They asked her if she was married and she said yes and they told her sorry you have to go through Homeland Security to obtain a SSN. She handed the person the paper showing that a K-1 visa holder is allowed a SSN and she still said they can not issue one.

I may try another office.

We were treaded almost the same way but before we got married. My husband tried to get a SSN about 2 weeks of being here and they said that he needed a EAD becuase the card is only used for work purposes and since he can not work no SSN! I showed her the paperwork and she was very firm on her statement. I was there and totally blanked out from being mad and forget to request to speak with management!!!

I'm in the process of doing my AOS too. This question about the medical stuff is driving me crazy, I can't figure it out. On the instructions for the I-485 it says "If you are a K-1 fiance or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiance visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your form I-485." I take this to mean we don't need to submit the I-693 form just the form we received at our medical. I don't have any of the other medical info to take with me to a civil surgeon so I don't know how he could fill out any part other than the vaccinations. I'm going to submit it with just my vaccination stuff I received and hope for the best. I'm not sure what else to do.

You are correct but it also states the following:

I-693 Medical Examnication and Vaccination Record Instructions Page 4 Section III 2 ©(b)

"Even if a new medical examination is not required, you still must show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS-3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original, overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designation civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit Part 1, Information about you, Part 2, the vaccination chart and Part 5, the civil surgeon's certification, of form I-693"

Some members what have done is submitted a copy of the form DS-3025 that they received when the did the medical exam overseas. Some of us did not have that privileged as we were not given anything.

This are the steps my husbands did for his medical, knowing he was still within the one year mark. Since he did not have any records of his vaccinations, I took him to our doctor to verify thru blood test what vaccines his has taken in the past and vaccines he needed. The doctor gave him the vaccines that were missing. Next we took the vaccination report from our doctor and gave it to the civil surgeon we found. He charged us $130 for immigration exam. which also included a medical exam said we only needed the vaccination report but they said that is a flat fee they charge no matter what. Since I was not about to make a big fit about it with a head ache, searching for another CS. I said fine, lets do it. From I was able to observe the exam itself was like 2 mins, they took some blood test, and also TB test. Within 2 days the forms were complete and done with.

Another note: some members have mentioned that they were able to find a CS who would charge a small fee just to transcribe the vaccine report on to the I-693 form without any problems. But this up to the members responsibility to locate the nearest CS based on the Immigrations website list of approved CS: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=CIV

Please note that some members have received a RFE for not submitting the I-693

i dont kno if any other march filers got approved in this period , i just got approved for EAD AND AP TODAY!!

Hey guys, so i hadn't gotten anything in the mail or anything about noa, just by email. I called and it's cause they had the wrong address on file. Here in Puerto Rico it has to be sent to P.O. Box not the actual address, which i was like what, cause the application says Physical Address and Mailing Address. Oh well, so then i got the email a couple days ago and a letter in the actual mail yesterday saying that Address was changed, then today I got an email for all 3 applications saying this:

Hope I am not being optimistic and it is not a mistake but CONGRATULATIONS !

It seems very fast, ususally it takes about 4-6 months for Green Card

Also, can you provide an update on your timeline after they received your package on 03-17-2011
