so many people get answered when they call but they wont say anything to me. should i just stop calling?
-
we filed in march and we had several touches befire april 30th. now nothing since then. every time we call i get a person telling me to call the national service center and that i dialed wrong. so i called the national service center and they just read our case off the computer like i read already on the internet. what should i do? noone will tell us what is going on in my case and nothing is being done with it. we didnt even get any RFE at all. but before april we were told that our case was in a background check. thanks

I have been informed that I will have an I-130 interview (beneficiary interview) as yet to be scheduled. Can anyone shed any light as to why this may be the case as this just prolongs what has already been a long process. We have a NOA 1 date of 20th Oct 2008 and from what I can gather should the interview be successful then the I-130 would be forwarded to NVC for continuation of processing.
If there is anyone who could shed light on this I would be grateful.
Arthur
wow I-130 interview? thats strange... i do not have any tips or advice for u dear..
Good luck for the interview though..

My husband sent the I-130 since May 4,2009 but untill now no NOA1 arrive.
Do we need to call or just to wait untill NOA1 recieved?
Its so depressing na................
Yeah u need to call them and inform that about ur noa1. It will be 30days on 4th and u need to constantly calling them until u get ur noa1.

No where Man is rite, Not a nice talk here so i would be taking rest.
-
i would say not good talk either.. lets not argue or compare each others relation. I think each couples are more different then others and they have their own life and own privacy. I know We all tried to write our own relation and try to make like wow my spouse is better then others. I guess everyone think the same for their loved ones. Lets not fight and be friend again now. Lets make our this journey easy.

I never said rushed marriages weren't possible, I merely said the odds are against them. That is all. For all the rushed marriages that have worked, I am happy for them and for people whose rushed marriages didn't work, I feel no sympathy.
On a brighter note, I got a touch! Hope everyone is doing great. ^ ^
Wow that sounds good.. atleast they are working on CR1 now.
Good luck dear.

My point actually was, there is only so much you can learn from a person online, which is why I think a person who marries during the first or second meeting isn't thinking straight or logically. In order to fully know a person, much time must be spent in each others physical presence. I mean, jumping head first into what should be a "life long commitment" hardly ends well. And I say this because eventually, you find out the puppy love was only puppy love and that you really have nothing in common. Not saying this happens all the time, but it's very common with couples who rush.
I agree with you Ber+Ter, I certainly learned that with my husband. The first time we lived together by ourselves for 2.5 months was a time where we learned what marriage is all about. Love, commitment, sacrifice, and patience! Thankfully our marriage and us as a couple work things out instead of go other routes....I hope my comments made sense
Just to add, in Islam dating isn't allowed thus the western thought of living together before marriage is not allowed. We communicated with other people present, talked online, wrote letters, got engaged, and then got married...but it didn't take us one visit like Ber+Ter was mentioning. After 2 years we got engaged, and then 3 years later we are finally married alhamdoliallah!
It was same to me and my husband. We talked to each other by emailing and talking to each other on phone and talking to relatives lol.. The best part of the relation is when u have be apart from ur spouse and u realize how much u love him or her. u know i lived with my hubby more then 9 months and we got to each other a lot. Each small stuff i noted his good and his bad lol. He knows everything about me. When u hold ur spouse hand u will feel like world is all urs, Thats the true feeling of the true love i think. Loving each other, respecting, and taking care of each other is the pillar of ur relation.

Personally, I do frown upon people who do not have any time or friendship behind them in their relationships. It just doesn't seem real to me. (I'm not saying it isn't real but I simply cannot fathom it.) I've seen so many people that have met online then meet in person 5 or 6 months later, then tie the knot during that same trip. It's too rushed in my opinion and too unreal. And then you see them get approved quicker than a person with say, 3-4 years relationship with their spouse.
But, everyone is different and some people don't have a problem with going so fast, but I am personally happy because I was friends with my husband for ages before we even dated. In my opinion, it doesn't matter how much you talk about things online, because there are some things that can only be realized and seen when you've been together physically for a certain amount of time.
This whole ''rant'' was my opinion. I don't mean any offense nor harm to anyone.
I totally agree with you ber.. Living with your spouse physically for along time and then being apart is not easy. How true this is! i do think the same that ppl who has really long relation with their spouse they have to wait long and some of them met only for few days and got the approval soon, no offense pls.. i m just telling the truth of USCIS's heart breaking work.

Hey congratulation for the approval...
Hey guys how r u? Hey guys whew!!! i have finished my exams and will be having degree soon wow
am so happy... I hope to have approval soon.. Hey paris what r u talking about converting to k1? i do not understand by proxy marriage. what is it? I hope every one get their approval soon.. lets hope for the best to have a lot of approvals in June. Good luck guys.
Tngirl did u get ur case number yet? how far u go In NVC process?
No where man do u get the interview date yet or still waiting?
Mrs. Simps, NO Im not converting to a K1 we are married. A k1 is like a K3 visa, NON Immigrant visa.
Its best suits us since we were married via proxy, enen though we consummated our marriage proving it is a bit difficult to USCIS, so this is something we can fall back on for just in case. Its stupid, we have been together face to face 4 times. 3 years behind us, everything listed in both our names, and this is still not enough for USCIS. Its not like we talked on internet for 3 months, then met face to face and got married the next minute like some has done. We tired to get married the regular way, but never worked out, getting married in France is very difficult for Americans. Anyways, he can come in as a Non Immigrant, and then we just adjust his status no big deal, just a bit more money in the finish. After all we will be together, and that is all we want. We have more history of a relationship then 10 couples put together.
CHILL Paris... You took the chance to get married by proxy... only you know what's right for you. Unfortunately, not everybody knows what proxy marriage is.. and I'm sure Mrs. Simps is just asking what proxy marriage is coz in most country this is not allowed (including Philippines). I'm sorry you are going through tough time, we all have our bad days... there's no reason to say that another couple's relationship is less valid than yours because they have less history. Oh, I didn't take offense.. hehe coz I know what my husband and I have. But some people might.
Yeah I figured some would take offense, it was not mean that way so no need to chill out. Im never said my is more valid, we had 3 years, 4 trips way more then some married, and we more then meet the K1 qualifications for K1 filers. They have to meet 1 time. When you in our place who originaly filed last year, we met Nov. 2006 and honestly that is before some even thought of VJ much less getting mariried.
The probelm is people read and take what was said out onf context.
So chilling is not the problem, its tryign to get USCIS that we are real, honeymoon spent together, and all the others thinking its no big deal. Actually its no big deal to many, they they are not in my shoes.
I agree with Paris I think its FREAKING ####### that some people do not even know the people they are fileing for. I might need to chill do to a personal reason but even some people who have known their bf gf fiance shorter than I have been married get approvals for K1 visas. SHE knows her husband they got married by proxy its perfectly legal and allowable if the adjudications officer isnt smart enough to figure it out well then why do they have the job.
Doesnt it scare all of you that the person that does not understand a marriage by proxy is working on your file ???
It is frusterating. I have had 3 trips to see him JUST him spent over a month together over seas. We have our problems but every couple does. we were together almost a whole year befor fileing and now it appears we will wait another YEAR before living together in the states.
YES ITS ####### k1 H and B visas get somehow approved before family visas. Even visas for LPRS take FOREVER while people who are K1 H and B get approved so quickly.
I really doubt that anyone will be happy with my post but seriously screw it. This is how I feel and normally I am suzie sunshine but USCIS has squished my sunshine into rainclouds and frustration.
Hey paris sorry i didn't mean anything by asking u proxy marriage or K1.. i just asked bcoz u have posted some replies about converting to k1. i m sorry if u felt bad of if i hurt u.. i didn't mean to hurt anyone here sorry guys pls forgive me if i wrote and if i will write anything, pls talk freely and tell me if i m wrong somewhere.
I can understand ur feeling paris. My husband came down to me 3 times and after first meeting we spend almost 9 months together and then suddenly we had to leave each other bcoz of K1 got rejected and had to file for cr1. It was really hurting me alot. after such long relation anyone would feel so hurt and sad. u know sometimes i feel anxiety, i don't know if anyone feel the same like me here but i really miss my husband a lot. it wasn't one months relation we knew each other since more then 1 and half year now may be more then that and living together for more then 1 yr. so its kind of really hard being apart from eachother.

History is history in my opinion. But hopefully everyone were friends with their spouses before getting married and have that background.
I believe that friendship is the best foundation for anything wonderful.
"I believe that friendship is the best foundation for anything wonderful."
Wow ber Thats sup pop i m gonna die for what u said lol.. I really appreciate Dear and thats absolutely true.

I would say Paris wait and watch for your time to come. i m sure ur time of the happiness is soon too.
So lets dance and celebrate lol for up coming happy moment inshaAllah.

Hey what is the different between AP and background check ? I mean when we file USCIS do background check on each file during I-130 and now i m looking at some forums and some ppl having AP after interview or at NVC so whats the different i don't get it at all??
USCIS background check is done for both Petitioner and beneficiary ..and most of the times dont take long ..only rare cases it happened to be months ...
NVC Ap happen 95% for K1 filers ..it seems to be randomly choose 20% of the K1 to put them under AP
and sometimes its applied for CR1-IR1 but so rare ..and the time frame vary from 4-8 weeks max
Embassy AP is mainly for the beneficiary and for some countries .SEPCIALLY middle east and some Asian countries, and some other Islamic countries ..Pakistan is famous with long AP if u look to time lines and comments ...
such type of AP at embassy level can take from month to some cases more than a year ....
Thank you so much No where man for explaining it nicely.

Ok Guys after months of wait now my timeline shows " There is not enough data in the timelines to accuratley approximate when your I-130 will be approved. ". Anyone has any idea why this is coming up suddenly ? Mine was June 8 th to june 16 th but now i have no idea .
This sucks .
Well its same with everybody's time line.. probably they r really going slow on cases now...
-
Wow guys lol i m reading this forum since about half hour lol.. u ppl chatted alot, its about 4 pages in one nite.. Man we march filers rocks lol........
This visa process making me frustrated.. i wish i was living at some place where i never get any stress no tension just me and my hubby..
wow its dream though lol i need to pinch my self to come out of beautiful dream huh? Really this journey is like dream in Paris's word night mare lol... we all be so happy when we will have our own life with our partners and family and babies lol.........
-
Oh brother!
Just another thing to stress about...
So, what happens is is that you can get an RFE but let's say that you're not calling every single day because oh let's say, you've got a life OR... you've been given the run around of "I don't know" from the person at the USCIS so... you give up and let them do their work...
Only to find out (too late...) you got an RFE that you weren't told about! And now your case is messed up or even canceled...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that insane??? Like they wouldn't email you/ update your online file or god forbid, send you a hardcopy in the mail?
I want to have faith in this system and get 'er done and all, I really do but seriously? #######??? It freaks me out that the potential is there for them to screw up so monumentally and the onus lies on us. Seriously now...
Yeah thats what happened to us while we applied for the K1. although main reason for denial was not meeting personally before we applied. we did big mistake in applying feb2008 and we met each other in march 2008. BUt the most ridiculous thing was. they added about Our RFE in the hard copy of denial. They said we didn't send them RFE about them asking for G-325 for me and my husband both. how can it possible when u do not even get the mail Of RFE and sending it to them? That was making me and my hubby cry a lot while all these happen.. Really this ppl do not even update online status if we get RFE or whatever and the most freaking out thing was we appealed for k1 and jerks they took our 2 checks for appeal. that was by mistake my father in low sent it to Washington instead of sending to California. it was 685$ for appeal.. i wish i can kick them on their back ... we tried a lot to get back our check but they didn't replied at all. USCIS customer service and National customer service behaved like they do not know anything how to get back ur money. such a jerks..
Paris really i m so happy for u that u gotta know about ur RFE, and it was only bcoz of u calling them again and again and arguing with them i think thats why those jerks sent u fast. Here i m telling u do not be careless in anything.. not even a small stuff. make sure for everything first about us case and ur documents. I don't wanna scare anyone i m sorry. i m just giving advice. InshaAllah it won't happen to anyone, just try ot be careful thats it. we never had any information about visa stuff so may be thats why we got denial for k1.
hey lgg it was for k1 not for my Cr1 lol...
-
it was a misunderstanding. i said i never got an rfe, but it never said u have an rfe on the website. it turns out that they give u an rfe on the website first then u get it in the mail. if it is over 15 days then u are supposed to call and ask where is my rfe? so i was mistaken in saying that we were denied becuase of an rfe last time. we were denied because we didnt actually meet before filing. we were only chatting online. anyway i hope this all ends soon and i can be with my wife again. may Allah make it easy ameen. thanks to all of u
-
this is mr simps again last time we applyed we applied for k 1 and it was denied becuase we never responded to an rfe. the thing is we never received any rfe. i hope it wont happen like this again. i want to call them and ask about this so that if we do have an rfe i can get it instead of it not being sent in the mail and being denied. what should i ask when i call?
-
They charged me twice for employment authorization and I had to contact the department of treasury to get one back.
Oh and u got back ur check? thank you somuch for ur reply...

hello i filed for an appeal on a k1 visa last year and i was in india at the time i filed it so my dad took care of the paperwork and its sending. i told him over the phone not to send it to washington dc but he did anyway. so uscis forwarded it to long beach california which they usuallly dont do. usually they will just send it back. so we thought that it would be rejected and we were afraid that the deadline would pass so i had him send an all new package to long beach with a new check. anyway the whole thing was dismissed and they sent out a dismissal letter on one of the two generated case numbers for the appeal. they however charged us with both checks cashed. weve tried to talk to them about receiving the money back for one of those case numbers but so far they havent done anything about it. what can we do to get the one check back? thanks

US embassy issuse travel advisory
4 Jun 2009, 1122 hrs IST, AGENCIES
The United States Mission in India wishes to urgently remind all US citizens resident in or traveling to India that there is a high threat from terrorism throughout India. As terror attacks are a serious and growing threat, US citizens are urged to always practice good security, including maintaining a heightened situational awareness and a low profile.
Americans in India should be vigilant at all times and monitor local news reports and vary their routes and times in carrying out daily activities.
Americans should consider the level of security present when visiting public places, including religious sites, or choosing hotels, restaurants, entertainment and recreation venues.
Co-ordinated terror attacks in Mumbai in late November 2008 targeting areas frequented by Westerners have raised the risk of Americans becoming intended or unintended victims of terrorism in India.
Because the locations of the attacks have included luxury and other hotels, trains, train stations, markets, cinemas, mosques, and restaurants in large urban areas, it is becoming more difficult to modify ones behavior to lessen the growing risk.
The media attention of and public reaction to the Mumbai attack could prompt other terrorist incidents. Future attacks may also target public places frequented by Westerners, including in large cities and tourist areas such as Goa.
The US Mission is concerned that increased political tension between Pakistan and India may further complicate travel in areas near their already-sensitive border. In addition, the Department of Defense has increased its security requirements for all its employees visiting India.
