hi! when are u planning to take your nclex exam? wanna trade study advices and tips...???
No date yet but my papers are already with the FL BON for review and I await for the authorization to take the exam.
I work 40 hours a week with every other weekend schedule 3 to 11 shift. During my work days I dedicate 3 hours to read, thats from 9am to 12. I grew up waking up early so even if I arrive home from work at already 12 midnight I still wake up at 6am and by 9 I stop and start reading. I am very lucky to have a husband who helps in the household chores. During my off days, I dont read at all because I want to spend all my free time with my husband and the boys if they are with us during the weekend.
I talk while reading so I usually read in the pool area where it is quiet.
There are three tips I can give as study advice R R and R.....READ READ and READ
Goodluck to us
i agree with you! i work too as a nursing assistant! i use to work 40 hours a week, 11 - 7 am but i cut my hours to 32 hours a week and also every other weekend...i wanted to concentrate studying! i bring my notes everywhere with me and i read and read and read the same topics over and over again with me...it retains in my memory more that way plus i also read and read and read the rationales to the questions i answer, sometimes i print them out and bring my paper with me always (esp the ones from the saunders cd)...i use the kaplan course book and basics book, saunders comprehensive CD, kaplan q bank trainer and soon will register for the kaplan q bank. its hard to work and study at the same time too...but i like working 11 - 7 shift because i always get time to sit down and go over things at work...minimum of about 2 hours per night and on not so busy nights sometimes even 3 - 4 straight hours studying in the hallway...good luck to us...my documents are recently being reviewed for the CES CGFNS...have to go thru that to register here in massachusetts...

this totally sucks...like i said i will be the last one to be approved!

Soooo, I have been freaking out all day because of the earthquake in Italy.
My husband hasn't called me all day and I couldn't get through to his cell phone (probably because the lines are down or just completely overwhelmed with people calling).
I FINALLY just talked to him about an hour ago (and the earthquake happened at like 3:30am their time... it is now like 8:30pm their time)... so I have been really worried ALL DAY.
He is okay, but the whole experience really scared me. Especially because my due date is only 5 weeks away... I thought all the stress was going to send me into pre-term labor.
I already wanted him to be here asap and this just made me want it even more. I hope all of you can have your spouses here with you soon, so that you never ever have to be as worried as I was all day today.
p.s. I do not think the organization of the package has anything to do with it. After reading some of your posts, my package was much less organized and with much less proof of a relationship. However, it may of helped that we had an i129f already approved for us last year (that we later decided not to pursue)... but, I don't know.
Chrissy...relax and be careful...we dont want you to go into pre term labor now do we? do u have someone nearby to help you in case an emergency happens? also, do u have things packed in case u need to go to the hospital earlier as expected? i wish you the best of luck and good health to you and your baby...

good night you all! not expecting an NAO2...its better that way...just go with the flow!

i sleep, i eat, i study and go to work, thats what my life is right now. i dont go out much, esp during the winter i just stayed home most of the time. i day dream almost always how it will be when my family will be here. i think where we will go and what we will do. i also think about when i will be visiting them again...i am also on the webcam and on yahoo always...i dont care how much my long distance bills come up to or if i have used up my minutes...i just want to keep in touch with them because its feels like being with them. i also hate it when my husband and i fight, i really do, i cant function and i get depressed...
Do you keep in touch with his family as well? His mom calls me like once a week, but she doesnt speak english so its kinda weird, just like how r u? I miss u, love u n thats it. Other than that I don't really talk to his family much, I'm thinking that will change soon though, I bet it feels better when u can talk to his family and not just him, it makes u feel more like ur not so alone I guess...
my husband doesnt live in pakistan anymore...we met in the philippines and he lives with my parents and my son in the philippines...dont talk much to his family...his mom cant speak english and i hate to admit this but i dont think they really like me anyway...so i dont really interact with them much. when i talk to my husband and the topic of his family comes up, its always just, hows ur mom or hows ur dad or ur sister or brother...blah blah...

You're definitely more optimistic than I am. I just told my husband I'm hoping to get through NVC fast enough to get an August interview. Montreal's just so darn backed up lately it seems. I'll have to catch some of your optimism.
