  1. My husband was on 4 months of AP. his visa was issued Jan 20 but it is only valid until march 10. our plans have changed and we were thinking of extending the validity of the his visa for one to two months but we arent sure if these are valid reasons. first off: we also petitioned for our son but his papers are still with the USCIS. the has been touched for over one month now. our son is 2 years old and it would be so much better for his husband to wait and go with my son to the interview and for them to fly together here. 2: my husband is a doctor and is really determined to take the medical board exams here in the united states. his application is still pending too to schedule his exam, we already paid for him to take it in the philippines and im sure it would just take about one to two months because of back and forth paperwork...will the embassy allow us to extend the visa?

  3. hi everyone! we are out of AP! my husband got his visa january 20th, they issued it that day, but its only valid until march 10. our plans have changed though, i want my husband to wait for my son's petition to hit its interview but it is still with the uscis. it has been one month now, i dont know if this is a valid reason so that they can extend the validity of my husbands visa. also, his application to take the usmle is still pending and we dont know how long it will take and when he can schedule it but most probably it will take a month or so. we were gearing for him to come march or april after we get through with all this. i have to call the us embassy in manila but is it a valid reason?

  4. i would recommend call the USEM of manila instead and verify i dont know if this still works but give it a try since its been 3months already

    Manila Embassy 011-63-2528-6300 ext 5184 or 5185

is this an international call if i call from the US?

i just called the Dept. of State and the lady said we are still under admin review. DOS also said she doesn't have it in her file that a letter has been sent too us. i just emailed US embassy. Its so frustrating! should we anticipate a letter or not? who's to trust here? the DOS or the US embassy?

  5. its been over three months that we are on AP. my husband has his interview last sept. 25, 2009 and this is the latest thing we have gotten from the embassy. a few days ago i called the US embassy to ask about our visa status. the lady told me that the embassy has sent us a letter since dec. 18, 2009. we havent gotten our letter yet. i asked the lady if she knew what the letter contained but she couldnt give me any details on it. all she said was our visa was neither denied or issued yet. i hate guessing and anticipating sucks big time! i was really worried that they might have transferred our case to pakistan but the lady said that could never happen unless we ask them to move our case, or if it came back here to the united states of something. she said if no letter is received until january 18, 2009...we would have to call again and request for another letter. i am just so worried. i keep praying and hoping that its just a letter requiring for more evidence or a second interview. i really really really hope my husband gets his visa soon!

  6. my husband was on AP since sept. 2009. i just called the US embassy and said they sent us a letter last dec. 18, 2009. my husband went to the post office but no letter yet. im really worried about what the letter says. the embassy still has my husbands passport and there is still no decision for the visa: no denial or no issuance yet...im so so worried. the operator could not tell us what the letter was about!

  7. My heart is beating so fast. I just called the us embassy and the lady told us that a letter was sent to my husband last dec 18. we havent gotten anything. so my husband is going to the post office as in right now. UGH! i am so worried! what could it mean? we are currently on AP since sept. 2009...WHAT COULD IT BE? the lady said there was no decision yet as to my husbands visa...if it's denied or not...

  9. Your not a filipino citizan but are trying to get a Pakistani citizen into the US through the Philippines US embassy? Assuming he is a Pakistani citizen, should'nt you be going through the US embassy in Pakistan?

he has been living in the philippines for almost 6 years now. my son is also living in the philippines...

try to call DOC its will tell u that wats happen to ur visa.

    DOC?

  10. Call don't email your senators and congressmen.

Is your son your biological son??

    VERY confusing/

yes my biological son...i didnt grow up in the united states and i couldnt file for consular birth abroad because i did not live in the united states for at least 5 years before i gave birth...only spent summers and and vacations in the US, now im in the united states, have a very good stable job, im a professional and so is my husband. we didnt meet online (no offense) and we dated 3 years before we got married, we are married for over two years now...they didnt require us to submit any more documents, the only thing given was a white slip with a check mark on wait til you hear from us. they still have my husbands passport too =(

  11. I am the USC (wife) I was born in the United States, I grew up in the Philippines but I never had any Filipino citizenship. I met my husband in the PHilippines ( he is Pakistani) we have a son, born in the Philippines...my husband and son live with my parents in the Philippines...currently my son's petition is with the USCIS, I just received our NAO1 1st week of december.

i emailed the state senator, john kerry of massachusetts but no help

btw, someone called my moms house in the philippines stating they were the us embassy asking if my husband really had a son...

  12. dec 25, 2009 marks the 3rd month of us being AP. its been a long and horrible journey so far and febuary 2010 will make it one year since we applied for my husbands visa. i keep calling at least twice a month to the US embassy. I wrote a letter telling them we could help them in their quest for our "relationship and identity issues" that they are looking for. they didnt require any more documents from us after my husband's interview. they didnt ask any odd questions.

why cant they just see that we are a normal young professional couple??? its so annoying, anyone with the some situation?
