Hi all,
wow, it is getting busy here.
Welcome Blu and John. LOL, another biker couple?
Am really out of that scene these days, lol, getting too old
But remember the fun of doing tours like the elf steden tocht, years and years ago.
But I am not really getting away from it I guess, Gettysburg is home to the Harley factories.
Have to confess though, I am more into the European bikes.
Anyway, no biking for me anymore unless it is the engine less bike. Better for me health wise anyway.
Jack is having a real hard time with Dutch, made worse by the fact that my whole family will insist on talking English.
What I did do is give him a few cd's from Blof, with lyrics.
He likes th music and is getting used to some of the , strange to him, sounds.
By the time he knows the music, he can try to follow the words in the book and eventually copy them.
If needed I translate the words.

VJ family, just wanted to let you know that I got my approval in the mail today!!! God is good. For everyone still waiting, ur approval is on the way!!
congrats .....did u get a email or an update online or did it just come in the mail????
Congrats! very happy for you. i wish i could be as optimistic-"For everyone still waiting, ur approval is on the way!" im starting to feel like i will be an involuntary member of the over-6months-waiting club. this waiting is putting a strain on us...........
Same here longdistancelover.. same here...
Im in the 1/14 NOA1 file somewhere...
And another 1/14 NOA1 file owner here.
Starting to believe they forgot about us
-
As for us, my wonderful, sweet, amazing, funny, dorky fiance...
..Forgot to bring his birth certificate. No approval today.
Oh Nikki
And now? Did he get a new appointment, or can he send it by mail?
-
Congratulations Sanne, that went very fast.
Do you know when you will be getting on the plane already?
-
Glad your heart is ok Liz!!!
Nikki, great to see you around again
Anyone up for some pictures I made in DC and the Shenandoah mountains?
LOL, have to do something to keep myself from going insane.
Really hoping we get some news now.
The time line keeps adjusting, feels like someone is playing a game with us.
-
I'll be 45 in 2 months and believe me, it shows.
LOL, that picture was taken last summer, gained more than a bit after that. Last time I counted I had 4 chins
And Liz, you don't look 37
-
There u go Peet!! I only had to get my DTP one..cuz that has to be renewed every 10 years or so.
noooo, that means I still have to get two than....
I am so old, probably need the DTP done at least twice
Oh my Jeanine, how did that happen with the grandparents?
Hope they all are better now. What a scare.
-
Totally unexpected, but my vaccination records are found.
Very happy about it, since I hate needles.
This saves me one vaccination, I am, unfortunately too old to have had everything needed, so I think I need the BMR one still. But hey, that is just one, instead of two jabs

Hey guys,
looks like most of us are playing the waiting game.
Can imagine how frustrating it is, having it all so close but stil not knowing when Paul.
Hope it will be there on Tuesday the latest.
Jeanine, it will be the 22nd very soon
I myself am trying to stay away from here a bit, it is so frustrating to be so close and hear absolutely nothing
Anyway, am back to work and hope that will take my mind of things
Hope you all have a good weekend.
-
Hey all, back in Europe here.
And all snuggled up in a warm sweatshirt that belongs to Jack.
It is cold here. But than, it was over 90F DC.
As usual the trip was too short but we got a lot wiser this time.
Visited the high school my son will go to once we move.
The differences in schools are interesting, but I think my son will do fine, he is a pretty bright boy and handles most changes pretty well.
No news on the NOA2 yet
Liz, hope everything is ok, your health is very important.
-
Hi guys,
checking in for a moment.
We're still in the US, having a great time.
LOL, Washington DC during a heatwave isn't fun I tell you.
But it is better than rain all the time. No news on the Visa yet,
I'll see you when we get back.
I'd like some more info on moving stuff over Jeannine.

Packing right now, we leave from Schiphol at 10 am.
Leaving home at 5:30 am
Not sure if I will have time to be on the pc, don't expect to be on.
But really hope I will be back with some good news.
Paul, good luck next week!
Off to go on packing, tomorrow I'll be with my guy
-
Wow, a lot has happened I see
Jeanine, congratulations, that went really well I see.
Hope it goes the same when it is our turn.
Thanks for the tip on the payment, I'll remember that.
Hard to believe you will be moving soon.
Sorry to hear about the rain Liz.
The weather here is pretty good and I am using it to get the house clean before we leave next Thursday.
I can't wait
And I am really getting the idea it might be possible for us to get our NOA2 really soon.
Hope your bridal shower was fun Ri.
Must be exiting still to have things like that happen.
Great, TamTu knowing his interview date also.
Had to laugh over the invitations, how many are there
Must be an awful lot if there is an 8 kilo box
Well, going to spend the rest of the day cleaning and hoping my cold will be done and over with when we get on the plane.
Hope you all have a nice Sunday.

Hi Rianne,
welcome to the club. Hope your journey goes fast.
But no matter what, waiting sucks.
If I am too nosey, just tell me, but did you guys get married during this visit?

Oh Liz, that is great.
LOL, sounds like you aren't out of females in your family
And Jeanine, I can't believe the interview is thursday already
Liz, I am extremely happy with the job, I used to clean for a living, feared I would have to go back to that but was given the chance to show what I could do. The job I was offered is at the HR office of a company with around a thousand people.
And the flowers in the picture are the tulips I bought to celebrate.
About the NOA2, I have no idea when to expect it, we filed in December, but got our NOA1 halfway January
There was hardly any movement in Vermont around that time.
But I hope you are right Liz, it would mean we may have a chance on celebrating together.
We are leaving in 1,5 week for PA.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to receive it than?

I HAVE A JOB!!!
Sorry, had to get that off my chest, but I was offered a job yesterday.
1 year contract which I can end the moment we are ready to move.
Still can't believe they wanted me knowing that we are in the middle of this visa process.
LOL, maybe good luck is starting to come our way now?
-
After a week of silence, VSC seem to have picked up speed again.
Hope it keeps up like this.
Only 2 more weeks before we get on that plane again for 1,5 week together.
Would have been nice if we could have celebrated NOA2 together, but I fear it is to early.
just one more working day this week and than it is 4 days off
-
 congratulations!!!

The consulate will give you a map of the area, the Xray place isnt too far from the doctor, you can ask the doctors assistant that time how you have to go...(then she says...look at ur map haha)
I dont like it either when they take blood..the worst part is when i try to concentrate and they start the stupid questions to distract my nerves like where do u work, what work are you doing, where are u going in the usa, why are u going..etc then im almost like..stop asking me stuff..i try to concentrate on what u're doing, dont distract me! lol
I love this weather we have right now...hopefully it def stays like this over the weekend!!
LOL, that sounds so Dutch
But that means we could walk it I guess.
Well, woke up this morning to a dark, gray sky.
Too bad.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
-
Thanks for the report Jeanine, sounds like it is easy.
Is the place you get the x-rays, close to the Dr?
I will have to get there by train and find my way through the city when times come, so it would be great if it is close to each other.
LOL, good to hear the young Dr. is good at taking blood, my son will get very upset if they don't do it right the first time.
Too much time spent in hospitals
Have fun tomorrow Liz, love strawberries myself.
Did everyone over here enjoy the beautiful day?
Hope we have more this weekend.
-
No real plans here, just getting my groceries in and clean a little.
Had hoped the weather would be a bit better so I could get serious about running again, but it is cold and raining here.
Not the weather that encourages to go out.
But...the word is that spring might arrive Monday.
Hope that is true.
LOL, totally know what you mean with that Liz, my son is 14 now and still growing like weed.
We will be getting him new shoes next week, again
Jack will be shocked when he sees him, he has changed so much.
In a few months he is suddenly changing into a young adult, the childlike look is totally gone now.
there is even something growing on his chin now
-
Ah, I understand Marieke.
It sucks, but it is understandable.
Glad Thomas doesn't have to worry though. And no, the beach doesn't sound that bad for a while.
Thanks Liz, am really happy with that picture, it is one of the few we have of us together.
My fault, since I hate having my picture taken.
Am getting really frustrated here, our expected NOA2 went from May back to June
That is the wrong way
Any Dutch/American couples??
in Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)
Posted
Totally forgot, I promised some pics from our visit to DC and Shenandoah.
