  1. Ok guys, my fiance and i are almost done with the paper work. I already filled, printed and signed the G325a form, The fiancee letter of Intent and i sent them to my fiance, together with a passport type photo. Just to make sure, i included two copies of each, all signed. We also wrote his Letter of Intent, his G325a form, the I-129F form, the Supplement to the question #18 and the Cover Letter.

These are still not printed nor signed, but soon they will be

Now we are getting down to the proof we need to show of meeting in person and having an ongoing relationship.

Can you please help us out with this one?!?!? :innocent:

    Thank you!!!!

There are examples of what you need in the k1 visa guide here:

    Good luck to you.

  3. My husband just received his welcome letter yesterday and my name was spelled incorrect. Is this a big deal, and should I contact the USCIS Immediately? How long will it take before my husband receives his Green Card. Thanks for any informative information.

I'm just gonna throw a date: He will get his GC on August 13th. Inshallah.

I would suggest you contact USCIS for the misspelled name to avoid future problems.

  4. Guys, I have a question...

In our I-129F I wrote the address I reside in, and a separate piece of paper wrote the mailing address we like USCIS and the US embassy in Cairo to mail me at (which is a mail box at the post office), then we both dated the paper and signed it... How can we make sure this is the address they are going to use to mail me? Is there anyway I can receive the visa packets there? John has sent me a few packages before and things go as such: I get a call from the PO saying I have a mail, I go there and check it, then go to a different building and pay fees that I received a package and get my packages. And when he used Express Mail to send packages I used to repeat the same steps only after checking the mail that I received a package I take a trip to the main PO in Cairo (it's a long and hard one) to go check it... And as you all know packages get checked and opened so that they make sure the content is safe...

So how can we make sure we are going to receive the visa mail and packets to my mailing address? Is there any harm if they got opened by the main PO? Do I have to sign a paper that I received a visa packet? This seems kinda confusing and we're a little worried right now...

To my knowledge, Government Agencies do not send mail to a P.O. Box address. Check with them to make sure.

  5. Ook, i have a question....

What is an "Alien registration number" and what am i supposed to put there?

    Thank you :)

according to my little knowledge, it's the Identification Number on the green card. If you were born a US citizen this means that you don't have an A#, you put N/A.

In my case, I was a green card holder (a legal alien ), then I became a citizen which means. I have an A#.

  6. I received my NOA1 today.

    Date of NOA1: 2009-07-20

    Yay!!! :dancing:

Isn't it the most beautiful piece of paper ever?

I love that good old greenish american special font!

Yes, it's wonderful, but the NOA2 is much better.

    My checked cleared today!

Now you know for sure they got your application. Wait for the NOA1

Hi!My check cashed the same date as yours but i haven't heard about my NOA1.Did you get that NOA1 by mail or they sent you by email?

I got my NOA1 on the mail yesterday. Yours is probably on its way.

  7. Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between December 4, 2009 and December 26, 2009*.

Remember this is a VERY rough estimate, definitely not a definite date....but by December 15 or so i'll know it'll be getting close.

Us July guys getting approved before Christmas is most likely wishful thinking (but who knows!).

Tomorrow is another day closer to approval.

If it says "between December 4 and 26" then it will be the 4th. A bit of optimism. ;)

  8. Our check has been cashed too. My american monkey says he can't know which day it was exactly. Hrm.

About NOA1, did you guys get an email or just the receipt by regular mail?

Ah Christmas... There's a good chance that Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays slow down our process.

I was aiming for that date too, but then I realized that it would probably be better if I spend this "last french Christmas" here with my family before leaving.

"Hey Mom, merry christmas, ho but by the way, I'm moving three days before it happens!" I don't know, it doesn't sound right to me.

Plus I spent Xmas in the US last year already.

So well I just hope that it will happen before february, before I turn one year older. :P

I just got the letter in the mail. When I saw people saying they got the number off the back of their check I thought hmm, do I have to go to the bank. But I went on to the Chase website (who I bank with) and they have a picture of the front and the back of the check. On the back it provides the EAC number so I used that to log into the Homeland Security (whatever it is) website and saw that the NOA1 was on its way. But then the letter finally came.

That's exactly what I did, though it was not easy to read the number stamped on the back of the check. I hope I'll get my NOA1 soon.

I sent my application the same day as you. I knew my check was cleared when I checked my bank account, but I still didn't hear from the USCIS. I used the number on the scanned check on my bank account to verify the statue of my application. It says it was received on the 20th. Nothing else. I'm waiting for my NOA1.

  10. It looks like it's going to be a long wait for us than I expected. When we started collecting paperwork several months ago, I was really believing that we would have our visa in 6 months or a little less if we were lucky. Now I am not counting on it happening for several months more. I was really hoping I would have him here with me by Christmas. It has only been a month since I last saw him, but it seems like so much longer. I am going to go nuts while I wait. My fiance's internet was down yesterday, and I had worked late the night before, so I am really having separation pains this week!

Goodnight, let's hope the VSC speeds things up for us a bit!

    -Kristin

    Hola Kristin,

I find no reason to believe that the process will take more than 6 months. Do you?

Start looking for your fiance's Christmas gift from now. You won't believe how the time goes by fast, aand I'm sure by then he will be here.

  11. I have been in the unfortunate position where my fiancee was not a US citizen but wanted to stay in the US since she is studying at a good university, has a great job and lived there more than half her life. Therefore we had to go through extended waiting time for her naturalisation... well 6 months later thats step one out of the way and we sent of the I-129 petition for the K1 on monday!

im excited... just another 6-8 months now I guess!

I just wanted to wish everyone else on here luck with their applications and I know what you are going through!

    Sean.

    Good luck.

There's a July entry if you wanna join.

  12. Good luck to everyone in this tread, hope you have a speedy journey. I was in the July 2008 group can't believe it has been a year since we filed. Believe me going through it was slow and painful but it was all worth it.

    GOOD LUCK!

It took you 9 months?!!! I believe that was pretty longer than usual, wasn't it?

I was one of the last CSC to get my NOA2 others made it through a lot quicker then I did.

Do you have any idea why this happened?
