  1. Since the thread is about the Algerian victory, a French channel video about the victory and celebrations:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jroMDY4jYNI

Sure cause Algerian people can not speak Arabic LOL. '' they are Arab but they cant speak Arabic'' so the news supposed to be in french . but i wonder if you watched the same french channel when they were talking about what Algerian did in France after they lost the match in Egypt !!!

You know hotguy, people here are saying "It's just a soccer game". That's how it should be. But for every Algerian, and me personally, it became more than a game after October 11 when Algeria beat Rwanda and there was only Egypt vs Algeria game left. These talk shows that are feeding you these ideas, instead of talking soccer, have insulted every aspect of our culture, history, roots. They questioned our revolution, mocked our martyrs (knowing that in every Algerian family there's at least one member who died fighting for our freedom), and the least goes on. Our players have been beaten up with rocks, and instead of issuing an apology, they treated them as liars who were so afraid to face the Egyptians.

If you read my post carefully, you'd notice that it says "a French channel." It means from FRANCE. They don't speak Arabic may I mention.

Algerians are not Arabs as you stated above. We are Arabs, Amazigh, Berbers, Chaouis, Touareg, M'zab, or a mixture of all these. We speak very well Arabic, and some of us speak Amazigh, Chaoui, ... but the difference between between us and you, is that we know that what we use in our daily life is a colloquial Arabic not Arabic, but you think that what you speak Arabic. It's not.

We also speak french, a language that Kateb Yacine called "A spoil of the war of independence." and who also said "I write in French to tell the French that I'm not French."

Mr Hotguy your comment is very disrespectful. Algerians have responded on the pitch, we won, you lost. Accept it. Get over it.

  2. alright guys lets start

Is there anyone in this world can say those are soccer's fans ?!!

In fact they are bunch of gang members . thats what Algeria sent to Sudan and we sent actors ,singers, students, business man ......

And how about a neutral source, about this same video.

In Algeria, Everyone was/is wearing Algerian Jerseys: young, old, babies,... but fans who travel to Sudan to support their team don't. If you can believe that, you can believe anything.

And it doesn't strike you that none of these so called Algerian fans in Sudan was wearing Algerian Jersey or flag?

I feel sad for you how you are manipulated by your media

  4. So now you think that what the Algerians did was not jusitified even though earlier you were saying that Egyptians were the cause of these problems. Disrespectful and immoral fans are the cause of all this. Have you heard of any Algerians hiding out in peoples houses in Egypt like what the Egyptians are having to do in Algeria right now? Have you heard of any Algerian companies being demolished due to these games? It just bothers me that you were so fast to accuse the Egyptians but as soon as I answered and sent a video you decided to say that what happened was not justified. I dont want to have an argument, but I really think you should check all your sources before you try to point fingers.

Earlier I was saying that Egyptians need to learn to respect their opponents, fair play, and accept defeat. I'm talking about soccer. Did the Egyptians accept the fact that Algerians deserved their ticket to the WC? Go read Egyptian Sport websites. All articles are insults to Algerians.

  5. He's talking about the tons of news reports, special talk shows and videos showing in the Middle East about Algeria and Egypt.

News reports of Algeria faking the attack on the bus: No broken glass inside the bus but windows busted outside and proving that they were trying to have the match played outside the country by setting up a hoax attack. Videos showing this has been all over the news there. There was also an article about a Israeli news reporter (who is Palestian if I remember correctly) that tried to instigate fights in Cairo during the first match and Egypt had him detained and deported back to Israel. Je caused a lot of problems posing as a crazed Algerian fan in the streets.

News reports of Algeria preparing to release or releasing prisoners to attack Egyptian fans, etc if they were to win the match in Sudan.

News reports of Algeria's attacks (1 death I heard about, not sure about the rape tho) on innocent Egyptian fans, business owners, etc right after the match that has continued. They have even posted numbers to Egytian citizens in Sudan to get them free plane rides home quickly to avoid any more violence.

The videos and articles are on famous talk shows and news there as well as reported on Al Jazerra.

There are reports of Egytians going to protest and retaliate at the Algerian embassy in Cairo however, I'm not sure what has transpired in the past 12 hours...so who knows.

It is all very sad that any innocent fan would be injured or killed whether Egyptian or Algerian.

You're talking about the same talk shows who created all these problems? I read a lot of articles about this issue from neutral news sources, and I think Egyptians need to learn to respect their opponents, fair play, and accept defeat as part of the game.

You think Egypt is the one that needs to learn respect and accepting defeat?? Where have you been getting your information on what has happened at the games and afterwards? But I will just share a link to a short video since actions speak louder than words...........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaiM9B6g42M

I have been getting my info from Egyptian Media mostly. Can you please explain to me what this video is? or at least what you have been told it is. Because I know you wouldn't know on your own. Can you please give me your source?

  6. I'm not denying what you are saying! I'm just saying it goes both ways. Don't tell me you haven't heard about the Egyptians being attacked in Algeria?

Look, I'm not taking any side. I'm just saying that blaming one side exclusively is not legitimate because it pains you to blame your own.

Yes, I've heard of that. Of course it's a sad thing not to be justified, but what do you think caused that?

  7. It is all very sad that any innocent fan would be injured or killed whether Egyptian or Algerian.

 I really don't understand it.

... and I think Egyptians need to learn to respect their opponents, fair play, and accept defeat as part of the game.

Seriously, there is plenty of violence and retardedness to spread around. (sorry for the non PC term) I just saw an Algerian on youtube making angry threats of violence to all Egyptians. You think if Algeria had lost that they would have "respected their opponents" and "accepted defeat as part of the game?" Ludicrous. I think this whole thing shows how dangerous strong nationalism and ignorance can be. There is no party involved in this who comes out looking saintly.

Violent fans exist in every country, in Algeria, Egypt or anywhere else. That's a separate problem from the problem we are facing now. This one is a Media problem. I think a lone Algerian (if he is) making threats on a video cannot be compared to the President of the Egyption Fottbal Federation who says to the Egyptian fans "You can do with the Algerians whatever you want when they come" or Egyptian officials accusing Algerian players of injuring themselves to avoid playing the game. We're talking about official positions vs anonymous lone statements over the web.

Yes, Egyptians need to learn to respect their opponents and accept defeat, because their history.

  9. Good morning everyone!

Today is the day! I will be going to the embassy for the interview in about half an hour. Whish me luck and keep your fingers crossed for me. I will get back with details later.

    Hugs to all,

    Ileana

Good luck to you. Everything will be fine.

I GOT THE VISA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy!!! Now all I have to do is get on a plane and go home!

The interview was so simple and easy! We are together 6 years now and the counsel only asked me three questions: where and how did we meet, do I know his family and what are my plans for when I get to US. After answering the last questions she said "your visa was aproved, congratulations!" Half an hour later I had the passport with the visa in my hand! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Feel free to ask me anything. I am so excited I don;t know if I missed any useful information.

Hugs and good luck to all!!!

    Ileana

Ohhh. Congratulations. I am very happy for you.

At least you know they are working on your application. You'll get your NOA2 very soon

  13. Ok I am calling Monday! I will let you know what I find out. Fortunately the account numbers were the same. Thanks for all the help!

I got the same thing. First, I got NOA2, then I got a letter on a plain white paper which includes the case number the embassy will use. The document states my application will be forwarded to Prague embassy. Few days later my fiancee received Packet3.

  14. Congrats to Peruvy and Gringa!! You must both be so pleased! And thank you so much for your kind words for the rest of us.

Well.... its the 17th. Is the kicking still taking place?! We're still waiting...

To those who've been approved recently, did you all get touches before you were approved for the NOA2?

I got an email on 10-02-09 saying that my application has been approved. I checked my status on the USCIS website, and my application was touched on the 02nd. I don't know if it was touched prior to that date.

Good luck to you. I really feel that your approval is coming very soon.
