I surfed around the net and found that a member called manty posted a website about April 12 naturalization ceremony " i think this is the special ceremony that IO told you about oldahmed" Also i based it on the information below froma the member called manty which i believe this info is correct :

The following email might be useful - I was forwarded it by a friend:

"The Washington District Office advises that for at least the next several weeks it will be reducing the number of daily N-400 naturalization oath ceremonies conducted at USCIS Fairfax in anticipation of special ceremonies involving larger groups to be held at the Lincoln Memorial on April 12, and at the new Capitol Visitor Center on an as yet unspecified date. Regular daily ceremonies will continue to be conducted from time to time, although beneficiaries of approved N-400 applications may not be provided a date and time for their oath ceremony upon completion of their interview. USCIS Fairfax will continue to provide same-day oath ceremonies in special circumstances where N-400 applicants demonstrate reasonable need, and will be flexible in consideration of these cases. They will also continue to perform same day administrative ceremonies for Sec. 319(cool.gif cases, where the applicant resides abroad."

I cannot really comment on fiancee Visas. My wife and I have been married for 11 years and we got married in Prague. So she got her green immigration paperwork done before we even left. Sorry I could not be of any help.

I had my Interview on 2/4/2009 at 1pm Fairfax VA and was approved (passed all the tests) and was told to wait for oath letter 2- 4 weeks in the mail. It has been nearly 3 weeks now. Please @ oldahmed if you get the oath letter and date let me know i'm getting very nervous.

On top of all this i had an old (10 year old DUI, i was not convicted and never saw a judge or anything of that matter) I had my lawyer with me in the interview and i didn't have much to present in the interview for the DUI because it was 10 years old i could not get a deposition from court because my record does not exist and DMV record is clean.

The IO said everything looks great Congratulations and you will take the oath in 2-4 weeks and he also said that he does not need any papers or certified docs. from court, police or DMV for the DUI. I only gave the IO what was left from 10 years ago which was the DUI arrest doc. and court date slip and the district attorney clerk receipt that i was given when i showed up in court. So i have no charges for the DUI, never saw a judge and i paid only $100 fine at the DMV for my license to be reinstated since it was only valid and restricted for 30 days after my arrest 10 years ago. My lawyer keeps telling me to just wait and you will get the oath soon.

I would greatly appreciate anyone's help or experience good luck everyone and i wish you all the best .

I was actually thinking that I should have stayed in touch with anyone who passed the test same day with me, so thank you for joining. I was told the same thing, I should expect the oath letter within a month, so let's hope it will come soon. I will let you know once I get it.

I don't think that your DUI will cause any problem since the IO approved your application.

Do you know anyone in the same DO FairfaxVA-Washington D.C . I have been looking at the forums and everyone that took the interview on or after Feb 4th 2009 was told to wait 2-4 weeks for the oath in the mail. During my interview the IO said that he does not know the schedule for the oath ceremony and he can't really give me a date but to wait for it to be mailed.

No, I don't know anybody else who had his interview the same day. I think we just have to wait.

It's been two weeks since your interview. Did you receive an oath letter yet?

No. Not yet. I'm getting nervous. I know all the people who passed the test at that same time were told to wait for an oath letter, but still I won't relax until I get my certificate in hand.

got my interview letter yesterday 02/09/09, thank God, interview is on 03/03/09...update please.

at the very top of the letter it says REQUEST FOR APPLICANT TO APPEAR FOR NATURALIZATION INITIAL INTERVIEW.

DO YOU GUYS HAVE THE SAME STATEMENT ON YOUR LETTERS..THAT WORD INITIAL SEEMS TO ME LIKE THERE WILL BE ANOTHER TEST...

ON THE LIST OF THE PAPERS THEY ARE REQUESTING, ANY EVIDENCE OF SELECTIVE SERVICE REGISTRATION. I DONT HAVE THAT AND I ARRIVED TO US IN NOV/2004 AND I WAS BORN IN SEP/1977, SO DO I HAVE TO REGISTER OR WHAT SHOULD I DO...HELP GUYS PLEASE.

The answer is in the 100 Question/answers of the test booklet you are using to prepare for the test.

They requested the latest Bank info, latest pay stubs, or latest bills or updated info of the items you sent with the N400 if available, we only took a copy of the items we sent with the N400 application, the interview was requested latest bank statements, asked if she pays taxes, overall it was a very friendly interview, more like chit chat. The interview mentioned it's a big plus your husband is with you it validates the petition since it's based on Marriage.

Even though we selected the old test interview format, my wife got the interview under the new format, but it wasn't a big deal. Asked who discovery american and to write down Chrisptopher Columbus.

People who applied from October and on don't have the choice between the old and new test. They have to take the new test.

I got approved this morning and the oath ceremony was this afternoon.

The A# is on the Naturalization Certificate.

I understand it is used to track your files in USCIS.

Why would they track her husbands files....SHE is applying for citizenship. Isn't her husbands previous immigration status is irrelevant, now that he is a citizen.

He says "a husband filing for his wife". I understand that he meant filing either I-134 or I-129F. In that case, and I'm sure it is, he needs to put his A# when he was a green card holder.

This is true, certain people are exempt from taking the US Citizenship test in English.

This is as per the USCIS web site:

Language

Applicants for naturalization must be able to read, write, speak, and understand words in ordinary usage in the English language. Applicants exempt from this requirement are those who on the date of filing:

* have been residing in the United States subsequent to a lawful admission for permanent residence for periods totaling 15 years or more and are over 55 years of age;

* have been residing in the United States subsequent to a lawful admission for permanent residence for periods totaling 20 years or more and are over 50 years of age; or

* have a medically determinable physical or mental impairment, where the impairment affects the applicant’s ability to learn English.

The officer will have a small conversation with your wife to make sure she knows enough English to pass the test or not, this is up to them. If they feel she doesn't, they will deny her and she can apply at a later time. So she needs to at least hold a decent conversation in English to pass.

Mystery solved! Thanks guys! I am constantly giving my wife flash quizzes. "Quick, write this: My dog has lots of fleas. I go shopping at the supermarket. They work well together. Now: read this out loud. And this. And this."

I think the toughest part will be the civics test, which she is currently studying in English. What really bugged me was this: Q: What kind of economy does the US have? Answer: Market economy. Should that be changed now with all the bailouts and nationalizations? Should we call it a "Mixed economy"? I were asked that question, I would probably get deported.

According to your timeline, your wife will take the new version of the naturalization test. In the handout they give you to prepare for the test (or online for that matter) you have all the words that your wife needs to learn. My understanding is that the language test should not be from outside this given list.

P.S. The word "fleas" is not on the list.

i was just checking on the shipping status of the N400 application. turn out the USPS said "Your item was forwarded to a different address at 4:31 PM on December 15, 2008 in MESQUITE, TX 75185. This was because of forwarding instructions or because the address or ZIP Code on the label was incorrect." I am living in Alabama, I sent mine to USCIS,TSC, PO BOX 851204 Mesquite TX 75185. Does anybody has any idea what's the problem?

I guess it must have been forwarded to the National Benefit Center. That's where N-400 are being pre-processed.
