  1. It's been quiet in here lately. I guess the approved December filers are gathering paperwork for packet 3/interview and those of us not yet approved are busy checking Igor's List/email/snail mail every few minutes.

I'm hoping VSC has a 66-approval week (like they did several weeks ago) and knocks out all the rest of the December filers.

    I'll second that!

Strongs to all of you still waiting :star:

  2. I'm still a long way from this step of our journey, but I need some clarification, as a friend has thrown me a curve ball and I'd rather make 100% sure from you people who really know.

My son would go over to the US on a K2 (to follow) visa. He will be 18 years of age when he enters. Would there be a problem because he's over 18?

I was told that because he'll be over 18 he would no longer qualify as 'part of' our original petition and the AOS process would be very difficult for him.

Can anyone shed some light and give me peace of mind here.

  3. The U.S. Consulate General in Johannesburg is relocating from Killarney to a newly-built facility located at 1 Sandton Drive, opposite Sandton City Mall just west of the intersection of Sandton Drive and Rivonia Road. During our move, consular services for the public (including American citizen services and visa services) will be closed Monday, April 6, through Thursday, April 9. The Consulate General will also be closed during the Good Friday/Easter weekend from April 10 to April 13. The Consular Section will re-open to the public on Tuesday, April 14, in the new location.

For information on U.S. visas, please go to http://southafrica.usembassy.gov/visas.html. Appointments for visitor visas and other nonimmigrant visas may be booked via the web at www.usvisa-southafrica.com or by contacting our call center directly at 080-098-0444 (toll free within South Africa), 011-461-6332 (in Johannesburg), or 1-888-859-4680 (toll free within the U.S.). The call center operates Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m.to 2:00 p.m. (except on South African Holidays).

American citizens may make appointments for routine services such as passport applications, registration of newborn children and notarization of documents by going to http://southafrica.usembassy.gov/acs_appointments.html. In the event of an emergency involving a U.S. citizen, such as an injury, death or arrest, the consulate switchboard can be reached at 011-644-8000 through April 5, and at 011-290-3000 starting April 6.

Also at the new Consulate General facility will be the American Library, offices of the Foreign Commercial Service, the Voice of America, the United States Trade and Development Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

We regret any inconvenience caused by our move and we look forward to serving the public in our new facility.

  4. No approvals for today? :clock: Come on Vermont, it has been a terrific week for us December Filers don't let us down on a Friday.

Just some further information regarding our case, National Visa Centre received our petition from Vermont yesterday, so those of you who've had similar NOA2 date to us give the NVC a ring to check if your case has arrived.

You will need your Receipt number to hand and make sure you know your partners Date of Birth ;)

Number to call is 603-334-0700, press 1 for English speaking and then 5 to speak to an Operator.

Thanks for this info, sounds promising.

  5.:thumbs: You're right on point BL2B, but you know what they need to get there act together :bonk: and approve the rest of our December filers.

Fully Agree, we all filed together, joined this thread together, supported each other along the way, so we now need to move forward together.

In the name of love we need our fellow December filers get their NOA2 to continue the journey together with those already approved

  6. Woohoo  Congratulations Xaenyth. I noticed your spirits were low these last couple of days, you were really taking strain, but now it's done and you can :D again.

Bono & NatPatBen you're next... I can just feel it in them bones!!!

Thanks. I'm #176 right now and for a long time I've felt that #175 is the "magic number" for me. We'll see whether that feeling comes to any fruition.

I do hope 175 is the one for you. The day before I got mine I kept on 'seeing' random numbers that kind of 'stood out' in my mind and those numbers were the date and time we were approved... it was weird.

    :ot:

I kind of came up with a theory this week...(clearly you will notice I started going  during this process)

When people ask why the approvals dont come through in the date order they're received. Other than those that get RFE's, I'm thinking and using small scale here. If you can picture what Im going to say it might make some sence

Lets say there are 10 people at VSC that work on these files, so there are 10 boxes standing there. As the petitions come in they dont all go into one box, they get divided between these 10 boxes. On a day there's only 6 petitions that come in, so each one gets put in a different box. The next day there are another 6 petitions that come in, the first one of that days batch get's put into box no 7 and so they go on dividing the petitions between the boxes. The big thing here is there's only 2 people that work real fast and smart, so they get through their box of files before the other 8. Thats why we see some of the early filers only being processed later....it's those 8 people who dont work smart :bonk:

 Did I just write all that?

And my fiance said that the office will work on his letter on the first

from the US embassy...How long will i need to wait for the notice?

Please give me some information about my question here...
