  1. Hello Everyone

My name is KJ, Im South African and my Fiance is American , Im new on here and we have just filed our K1 Visa on the 8th of April. The case is showing up on the system as filed and pending ! And that something was done on it on the 12th of April, since then nothing shows up online. What happens next , I feel like Im sitting on edge here I have no clue what happens really in the next few months apart from the fact that Im not allowed to visit the man I love in the USA , and that out processing time is approx 6 months , he has just left here after visiting me again for 2 weeks and that is the worst pain. Please can someone explain the procedure to us. Thank you :)

Welcome to VJ KJ, the best place you could be right now.

I'm also from South Africa, and have just made it through the first part of the journey to my NOA2.

S.IS.Hwang is spot on with guidelines. Im just not so sure about the timeline from NVC to Consulate stage though.

NVC sent my case to the consulate on 14 April already, I've managed to track it with DHL. It landed in SA on 16 April and has been scanned every morning since then to the status 'shipment on hold'...and I thought waiting for my NOA2 was frustrating, but this just beats it!

Best of luck with your journey, and may it be a smooth one :star:

  2. ill pray tonight for all those still waiting,, a bunch of us that were approved are still in ap at nvc so i do feel youre pain!!!good luck dec filers!!!!!

I feel as if we're in AP with DHL. Packet left NVC on 14 April, I tracked it online with DHL, and it arrived in South Africa on 16 April. The shipment was stopped on Saturday 18 April....and it's still there. Every morning it gets scanned and still says shipment stopped, so it's now been a week that it's just waiting at the depot to be delivered to the consulate  #######!

Beans, could you not pick your packet up on the DHL system to rack it?

To those of you still waiting for your NOA2, you're all still in my thoughts and prayers, I havent forgotten you. Strongs! :star:

  3. I had the same problem with DHL when I sent my paperwork from SA to my finace in the US. It also got 'stuck' in Ohio then after that it was sent to incorrect final destination and had to go back to Ohio. I tracked it daily watching it going backwards and forwards across the US...most frustrating. It eventually took an additional 6 days to get there, 10 days in total, but it got there.

Next shipment will be with UPS or FedEx

  4. number 180 on igors list, please please please let us get approved soon!! :innocent:

I feel you. I'm #164 and eagerly waiting. It's frustrating cause even though more people are getting approved, I'm STILL #164.

When searching the DHL records for my packet from NVC to Consulate, I realized how many petitions there actually are that we dont even see here on VJ. Out of the 5 we see approved here on a day, there are a good 30 others we dont see.

Strongs to those of you still waiting. All good things DO come to those who wait.

It just seems so incredibly slow as if what your saying is there is a good chance mine and the rest of our apps that are not approved yet and being adjudicated by someone you wouldn't trust with safety scissors!

anyways heres a picture of me and angela on our way for some chillen on a beach :D

This week has been a real bad week  but we've seen it before....have a real slow week then the following week or two they work like they should.

You guys are all in my daily thoughts.

Nice pic of you and Angela

  6. Too late to edit my previous post.....

I found this info on another thread which helped a great deal. Our notice said 14 April, but I had to put 13 April in to find it. Luckily there are so few filers from South Africa, it was quite easy for me to find ours.

Here is the tracking information that has been posted:

The State Dept uses DHL to ship their packages. Once you confirm the date that the I-129F was sent, you can go on the DHL website to approximately track your case. There are forums here talking about it but I'll sum it up below.

    1. Go to: http://www.dhl.com/

    2. Select track by Reference, enter the info as follows:

    EXP DD MMM YYYYA

    EXP is constant

DD is the day the NVC said they shipped the case.

MMM is the three letters representing the month the NVC shipped the case

YYYY is the year the NVC shipped the case

    A is constant

For example, if the NVC says they shipped the case on February 5 2009, this would be entered as "EXP 05 FEB 2009A".

    3. Date range for shipment - From: Enter the date of the day NVC said they sent the case

    4. Date range for shipment - To: Enter todays date

    5. Once you enter the info, press "Start Tracking"

    6. You will see a result page with a number of packages going out to different consulates/embassies. Look for your consulate/Embassy.
