  1. Anisa - I believe they stop processing everything including EAD & AP until they get the evidence they requested from you. Hopefully it will be something quick and easy for you to do and they will get right back on your case asap. You might want to try asking around the Sept filer board as they have already had some folks go through this who could help you better then we can yet :)

Thank you so much for your reply. I really do hope it will be something quick. Thanks,

I'm not sure if they process is stopped for EAD and AP as well, because, as Anisa, I haven't received my RFE letter yet, but online it only mentions AOS. Also my EAD and AP have not been touched since I registered online. I can't wait to get it though so i can address it ASAP! it was sent last Friday...why is it taking so long!! lol

I think that the fact that we applied for PR gives us the possibility to apply for EAD and AP. I could be wrong, but I don't think it pauses everything. Any other thoughts?

  2. We got a RFE: Current Status: REQUEST FOR INITIAL EVIDENCE SENT, CASE PLACED ON HOLD

That sucks!!!! oh well, not much we can do!...

Congrats to all of those who are going along fine!

lovesponge! We meet again :) hope all is well with your pregnancy!

hey, sorry to hear that, for what its worth, I have a strong feeling that Ill get an RFE too. I just know  details when I get it. But its ok, just send them what they need and you'll be alright

Thanks. I'm not stressing too much about it, since there's nothing I can do until I know what it is. 3 ideas come to mind though: certified copy of marriage certificate, I-693, or something of finacial nature.

I hate the mystery!!! LOLOL I'll let you all know when I get it...hope I get it this week (it was sent Octy.30th) so we can get to it ASAP.

:( sorry, the RFE is for the AOS or for the i-765?

Thanks....it's for the AOS. we'll see what happens

Sorry about your RFE. It is normally something else since I got my letter for the biometrics...Good luck!

My case online also says there was a request for evidence for I485 could this be the biometrics or is it normally something else

  4. Hey everyone! i got my Bio appointment notice today!

Happy continuation to all of us!

Congrats!! Since you sent your package in a few days before us, maybe we'll get my husband's bio appt this week :star:

I wish it for you guys! That would be great!

On a side note, i see that some people decide to go do their bio before their appointments. is there a real benefit in doing that or people doing to get it out of the way?

  5. I just recived update from USCIS sms/email this morning!

My case is now being processed and is pending at CSC :star:

That's great!!! So happy to hear about your transfer! Hopefully you'll get your GC in no time!

I find it interesting that VJ doesn't calculate the process time for AOS, but it does for the EAD and AP. Sometimes I wonder if it is really worth applying for the EAD if we are to receive our GC a few months later. I mean it's free to apply for EAD so why not? I'm just curious if it's really worth it.

I know I will have to go to the SS office to have the "not valid from employment" from my card. then I will have to go back when I get my GC to remove the limitations on my SS. SO MUCH TO DO....but hey we're here, in love, and happily married! We really can't complain right? ;)

  6. Hello all,

I wish that I could be on more often to share with you, but with 2 young children (2 and 1), it's not always easy...I just wanted to share that I got my NOA1s in the mail today! I was a bit worried because I wrote my money orders wrong (wrote USCIS instead of US department of homeland security). i was able to confirm with western union that they were cashed, but still I felt I needed my NOA1s to feel more at ease.

I'm glad to see people getting transferred to CSC. I hope it will be our faith, but if we have to go to an interview, so be it!

To Greg, thank you for the spreadsheet! It's always great to try and find patterns. Just to add to my info, I did NOT send the I693.

I'll try to stay in touch more...Happy continuation everyone!

  7. Hello all,

I feel bad posting a question after being absent for so long, but I'm trying to get this AOS out as soon as possible. I don't even know what's going on...I barely have time to be on the internet anymore.

I moved to the States on August 16th, got married on the 21st( YAY!!) and now getting ready to send the AOS package. Here our situation....my husband was laid off. We tried waiting for him to find another one before filing, but it looks like it's taking a lot longer than we expected. Needless to say, we are very stressed about this. We are afrais that I will not be able to adjust because of it. Not the best way to start a marriage, but we always tell ourselves, if we can go through this rough time, sky will be the limit! :)

    Now my questions:

1- We'll need co-sponsor, which will be his mother. Do we fill I-864 or I-864A

2- My hubby's currently receiving unemployment. Can we list it as an income?

Thanks for all your answers, and hoping that everything is going smoothly for all of you!

Hey girl, sorry to hear about ur husband's job...that's sucky :( I don't have answers for ya, you may want to post this question under he AOS forum, you may get more resposnes...good luck.

Ok, so I got my AP in the mail today...

I got two copies...does this mean it is only good for two trips? I'm confused why it's two copies, and how do I activate? Do I see them before I leave across boarder or after?

Also, a week ago got an email saying 'EAD card production ordered on Sept 2, give 30 days'...then today I got again 'EAD card production ordered, give 30 days'... What is this?

They are the same email? Or does one mean that card was ordered and the other mean it was mailed out? So confused?

Also, the DMV took my app a few weeks ago and said they were running a background SAFE check to verify my immigrant status...well they said it would take 7-10 days and it's been way longer. I called DMV main centre...they have nothing....I now have to go wait in line at the DMV AGAIN! With no guarantee for a positive outcome :(

Thank you for your reply poprocks. I did post in AOS section and got good feedback (VJ really is the best!). I'm sorry to see all the trouble you're having with DMV. They were a pain in the butt yes, but I stil have my license...it sucks that DMV offices don't work the same everywhere. Good luck with the rest of your journey!

  8. Hi there, I was laid off a week after John and I got our NOA-2, so I know how you feel!! For AOS, I'm not even bothering to include my Unemployment Insurance income, just my IRS transcripts for the last three years and an I-864. As for my sponsor, I'm including my father's I-864 (plus his letter of employment, copy of birth cert. and 3 pay stubs) and my mother's I-864a and her pay stubs (they filed jointly, so they have shared transcripts - her income is figuring into my dad's sponsorship, hence the I-864a).

Don't worry, USCIS will let us know if we're deficient in our Affidavits, LOL! I figure it's just a case of properly replying to the RFEs, if any. And good luck on your husband finding a job soon, I'm sure USCIS is seeing a grip of situations like ours every day now.

Wow! Thank you so much for your reply and sorry to hear that you lost your job. I think I will still include the unemployment since our "backup" doesn't seem as solid as yours...Good luck in finding a job and thanks for your encouragement!

  9. 1- We'll need co-sponsor, which will be his mother. Do we fill I-864 or I-864A

If you guys are not living with his mother, she'll need the I-864

2- My hubby's currently receiving unemployment. Can we list it as an income?

It counts but the very nature of Unemployment Insurance is temporary and they will look at it in this light.

Thank you so much for your quick reply!

  12. Hello all!

Just a quick note to say that the Sunday move went really smoothly! The POE was pretty quick, considering that my officer was on training...

We're getting married in 3 days, and hoping to file AOS as soon as we can. I'm really hoping to be an August filer...lol

It's so nice to finally be under one roof although we don't have enough space!!!! The kids are doing fine so far so that's a plus!

    Catch u later VJ!

  13. Hello All!

Just a quick note to say that I had my interview July 31st and was approved!!! I'm so happy! Things are finally moving along. I got to celebrate the visa at the Toronto carnival where Dex and I met 4 years ago. We had a great time! I'm now back in Montreal and I need to start packing!!!! After I recover from my crazy weekend of course! Glad to see things are still moving smoothly for peole and congrats to m&m on your approval!!

  14. Hello all!

    My visa was approved!!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

Finally time to get ready for the big move. Should get my visa this week and I'm leaving on the 16th so it gives me time. I will not write a review since it's the same as everybody, but will keep saying ARRIVE EARLY!!! it is sooo worth it! I got there at around 7am, 1st in line, left at around 9am. All went smoothly, people were very nice, etc.

Thanks for all the help and support! see you in other threads!

I'm looking to be a September 2009 AOS filer so hope to see some of you there!

  15. Just spoke with hubby.. he said that he recalls only putting the gross income not the monies paid to child support since the children do not live with us. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the help. We decided to get a co-sponsor (his mom) so it's gonna work out. We just wanted to be safe. Now I just need to have these documents here by Thursday....we'll see what happens. I just don't wanna go there knowing that they'll refuse me. Just a question: if they refuse me, could I bring the documents at a later date or we'll have to start from scratch?

  16. Hello everybody!

Am I the only one with an interview this week? I'm a bit nervous since we just realized that we needed a co-sponsor....the household threw me off since I was thinking more of a physical household, but it's in fact ALL dependents....so hopefully my SO can have these papers here for me before my interview on Friday.....

Looking forward to the interview...I'm not nervous, just excited!
