  1. Ok, if I have a good reason, how can I request an expedite? whom should I call? what the numbers? how much should I pay? what forms should I fill out or where should I go?

When my husband request for an expidite he called the USCIS then the lady there filled out the form for him then told him that he will know somthing from them then after 2 days they sent an e mail to my husband but he deleted the e mail accidentally so on monday he will call again to have the e mail from them beacuse you will send the evidence with that e mail from USCIS.

My husband just fax the evidence to the USCIS the other day. Hope that we will hear a good news soon .

  2. Some dumb people around my place too often give me this nasty acknowledgment rebuttal whenever they're asking me, hey!, where's your husband? why you didn't join him going back?. As soon as I answer them, oh, probably next year. they would usually give me a facial expression that's thinking while nodding. aha! she was just left out by her husband and probably will never come back. I dont care whatever facial, verbal expression they throw to me, I don't owe them explanation why I'm still here in PI.

ohh.. I can't wait to just be gone and never see these people again.

I expercienced this too  .. I just laugh on my thoughts when I remembered it. Beacuse people who did not know how long for the VISA PETITION TO GET DONE they are thinking a lot of things is going on the relationship. To everyone out there PLEASE LET US BE STRONG. WE WILL MAKE.

  5. You can not change your case status like that. If you marry, you will have to cancel your K-1 all together and file either K-3 or CR-1.

Since you are so near to get an interview date, I would suggest to go ahead with the interview and give co-sponsorship papers, you will need joint sponsorship with all types of family visa, let it be K-1, K-3 or CR-1. If consulate rejects joint sponsorship (which I highly doubt) then look for a second plan, for now stick to K-1.

    Best of luck

ETA: There was a case from Japan, it was on the news on Visajourney too, how the couple first applied for K-1 but because of wrong info given by US consulate in Japan, they got married in middle of the process and that beneficiary was actually banned for 10 years on allegations of misrepresentation. Anyways they did win the case but after going through a great deal of pain and suffering.

Yes I agree with the first reply STICK FOR K1 for now. Just do all the research to get all the information you want to know for you up coming interview. Good Luck Do all you best to get the visa YOU CAN DO IT  . Just be HONEST and Be your self and ASK GUIDANCE to Our LORD JESUS CHRIST and you will be fine :)

  10. Hello!

Can a foreign national stay here in the Philippines for 21 days without securing visa? If so, what department we need to contact to verify on that?

    Thanks!

Your expected departure date is stamped on your passport as you enter the phils, but some Americans that I met there said it was just a matter of applying for an extension which was about $60. if you wanted to stay past the 21 days allowed.

But in answer to your question, yes, 21 days is the normal maximum without the extension.

Yes...after the 21 days of stay You need to applyfor the extension waiver at the Bureu Of Immigration If you want to stay longer than 21 days. Its not a problem if you will pay/apply for the extension late but only you will pay for late fee :star: ...The extension waiver is cost 3,020 pesos. Good Luck on your trip :)

  13. Hi, this is Anne of Sta. Ana. I and J have been a member of this site for sometime now and I must say that this site has been of great help to us. Plus I've gotten to know some great people whom I've had the opportunity to send my questions with regards to cr1 & k3. Thanks to mypanacea and prettynpink. You've been of great help. Thanks again.

I've got some questions though about civil wedding. I know that only after J (he's from California) has gotten his certificate of legal capacity from US embassy, and that I, copies of cenomar, live birth certificate and among others, only then we would be able to file an application for marriage license. How long would it take to get the license from the municipality/ city hall?(does it normally take a 10 day waiting period?) Is it a necessity that we file the application (for marriage license) at the municipality where I reside? Should J (my fiance) also provide copies of certificate of live birth? Right after we would receive the license, would it be the judge who would set the date (of marriage) or us? (Not being particular about the costs but still, I would like to know) How much would a civil wedding cost? Do we have to pay the judge or the person in authority to conduct marriage?

Hope to hear some answers. Thank you in advance and God bless to everyone.

    Hello Anne and Jeff,

Yes! it takes 10 business days from the date you register at your Municipality .And I dont know if in your city you & your bf still need to attend seminars. The cost of your wedding will be up to both of you. It depends on how you want it and where. In our case we and the judge agree for our wedding date. In my case we paid twice, for the judge and for the hall of justice. In what City are you from? Hope this help you a little bit :) . Good Luck

  19. I would move to PI in a heartbeat and live.

I figure I work 10 more years, and me and my wife will move back to the Philippines and live a King In PI.

I hope to live part time over there in a few more years.

One reason American Men don't to live over in PI full time is the Economy of PI.

We can earn so so much money in USA, and we need to plan for the future.

I asked this question as we Filipina were always been questioned by other people regarding our intention of marrying someone from the US. THey never think about what we have to sacrifice just to be with someone we love.

Yes that is very true. The reality that we need to live our family in the Philippines to be with our husband/wife. It is not easy for us especially if you are very close to your family. Im gonna miss my mama and papa :crying::crying::crying: But living them is to be with my husband/my lifetime partner (L) . Good Luck to us
