I suggest reading these links:

After receiving NOA2. NVC will send a letter to the USC informing him that the case is fowarded to US embassy in Manila. Then the US embassy in manila will send a letter to the fiance/e in PH informing him/her that he/she is eligible to be interviewed. On that letter from the US embassy in manila, it states what number to call to schedule an interview. I suggest before that letter comes, the fiance/e should start gathering the requirements needed for the interview.

Be wary of the expiration date.

"a. PASSPORT. You must have a passport valid for at least six (6) months. If you do not have one, you should apply in person at the Passport Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City, Metro Manila. For passport renewal, you can call the DFA Information Center at 02-737-1000. The DFA web site is http://www.dfa.gov.ph."

Yup, from NSO. (just in case you need a second opinion)
-
Just one of each from NSO. They will not return the originals though. Make sure the CENOMAR is the most recent.
-
When you filed for I-129F, you both submitted letters of intent to marry. Give your fiance a copy of everything you submitted to USCIS, that includes those letters of intent.
-
Hi Conan.
Copies of the receipts are fine. As long as they are clear.
Im not sure of the specific length and width (i didnt measure it when i was there
). Its those that are common in banks. Kinda like this..... it is the closest i can find of the "slide-thru thing".

jamesnrei: Thanks. I spent my bday with Matt's family. They are trying hard to make me feel welcome. Have you started your AOS yet? Im still gathering info. Im verifying what Bevs said about the skin tests, blood tests and the new shots. I will probably call the civil surgeon in Austin and inquire. Have you heard from lorraine?
Bevs: Belated happy birthday din!
I hope you are having fun in there. Im still not sure about the skin test, blood tests and the new shots. On the uscis website, they said we just need the vaccination supplement.
Check out this link: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf . Page 4, No.8
"8. Fiancé(e)s.
If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment-of-status application."
JoseRizal: Have fun driving around and be safe
. I just love the GPS, its simply amazing.
Hug your lil boy for me. I hope we could hang out soon with the girls. The AOS paperwork is a b*t*h hahahaha. Im having issues with my social security number coz they require EAD. *sigh* But i am able to open a bank account even without an SSN
.
To anyone done with AOS: Should i use my husbands last name when im filing for AOS? I dont wanna consufe USCIS. It just seems morally right that i do, but i dont know if its technically correct. Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks guys.
ruby jade: This thead helped me a lot and i found friends in here too.

jamesnrei: I know... the weather fluctuates like crazy :/. I now have a habit of checking the temperature before i go out. Yup, i think thats the civil surgeon lorraine was talking about. After i talked with the immigration officer in Detroit, he stapled my I-94 in my passport and marked my visa. So its weird why they didnt give you your I-94. You need it coz its one of the requirements when you file AOS (i think). But im not sure if we need vaccination supplement. Lorraine said we dont need the 2nd dose yet... not this soon the doctor in here said.
cloe: Congratz! Have a safe trip.

Hi all! Im back.
I was my birthday last Jan 4
. T'was my first time spending it away from my family. Homesick like hell but adjusting well.
bevs, I saw the pictures in friendster. Nice dress
. Anyway, skin test? Hmmm im not aware of that. I went to the local center here to get my vaccine like they told me to in St. Lukes that i need to get mine done when i come over. But when i got there, they said i dont need to coz they already gave me that according to my sheet and truth be told... there is a date there that it was administered to me. Its only $60 but they said they dont have to give it to me this soon if i needed a 2nd dose of Tdap. Its nice that they dont wanna rip me off hehe. Anyway, i was gonna go to a local civil surgeon to see if i can get a vaccination supplement or I-693A. I dont need to have another medical as i already had it done in the philippines. But i talked with lorraine and she found a civil surgeon in Austin that wont rip people off and wont ask you to redo the medical exam. I havent heard from her since but i communicate with her thru friendster every now and then. So im kinda waiting for updates on that. For now im gathering my stuff for the AOS.
jamesnrei: Congratulations! Weeeeeeee! I think i was out of town that weekend. Dang, i wanted to hangout with you :/... but theres always next time (remember our trip with the girls and manny
hehe). Been going to Boerne and New Braunfels as Matt has friends and clients there. I havent been to houston yet. You are right, downtown SA is nice. Did you take the boat ride? Oh btw, did you see the shows there too like the wax museum and sorts? We have to talk to lorraine about the civil surgeon in Austin. She said we just need to fax them our vaccination report and they'll fax us the I-693A for a small fee. Im waiting for an update on that. Ill keep you posted.
JoseRizal: How it going? Have you been driving in there?
I still dont know how to drive properly yet hehehehe.
JamesRachel: How are the lobsters?
How cold is it in Maine? Its darn cold here and the seeder trees are giving me allergies.
Happy new year to all (late no!)

Hi all. I will be filing for AOS together with EAD and AP soon. Ive googled...searched... and found these two helpful links.
http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3aos
1.) Any other tips or anything else i should add to the checklist?
2.) On the 2nd link above, it states....
2.a) "1. Payment(s) as required by USCIS. Be sure to include the payment for both the I-485 and the biometrics fee*. Use a money order so you can track the payment. If a personal check is allowed, use that instead. >> The fee for I-485 applications filed on or after July 30th 2007 inlcudes the cost of the I-131 and I-765 (no need to pay for them if filed with or while your I-485 application is pending adjudication -- as long as you paid the "new" rate for the I-485 effective July 30th 2007)."
Does this mean that if i file I-485 (AOS) together with I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (AP), I only need to pay $1010 ($930 plus a biometrics fee of $80)? No need to pay $340 for I-765 and $305 for I-131? (just checking... im paranoid)
2.b ) "12. I-864, Affidavit of Support (see poverty limits here)
>> Include any additional required supporting documentation
13. I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, if you want to work while your application is processed (optional)
>> Include any additional required supporting documentation or photos as well as payment as noted here.
14 I-131, Application for Travel Document, if you need to travel outside the United States while your application is processed (optional)
>> Include any additional required supporting documentation or photos as well as payment as noted here."
What are these supporting documents?
2.c) "11. I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. (If you already have this from your overseas Visa Interview submit a copy that medical check form; No fee is required in this case. If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement (I-693A), not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.)"
I have a summary of my vaccination when i finished my medical exam prior to my interview. This was the only copy they gave me after my medical exam. They kept the rest. Is that the I-693A? Or do i need to go to a civil surgeon and ask for one?
3. My husband is unemployed right now and is currently on unemployment to get the 2 months worth of salary his company owed him (ermmm?!!!!). He has enough money in the bank that will allow us to live for a year or two comfortably depending on our expenses. His company might resume its normal operations this month... emphasis on might. So he is currently looking for new employment, just in case. So im wondering, Im required to submit an affidavit of support. Should we use the same affidavit of support that we used for our I-129F (that was when he was still employed)? Or should we get a 3rd party person like a relative (who is employed and above poverty line) to sign another affidavit of support in behalf of him? Im not sure about the latter. *scratches her head*
This site had been very informative. Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Happy new year everyone.

I got my passport in DFA DVO, I had it checked too. They said its the new machine readable passport. They just had me check my info if all is correct and didnt say anything about signature. But i can remember signing those forms.
Im already in the US. I went thru immigrations and all that. So im guessing my passports fine.
-

I got my visa 5 weeks after i was interviewed. I got pink slip. No issues, it was just DV and USEM backlogs. Supposedly, its faster now coz DV is gone and they are working out their backlogs.

Beneficiary's Letter of Intent to Mary?
in Philippines
Posted
Nah, i dont think NVC will ask for the letter. Just make sure you bring with you your letter of intent to marry the petitioner for the interview. Of course, along with the other requirements.
The letter of intent we submitted to USCIS isnt even a formal letter. Its an email. He just sent me an email indicating his intent to marry me and i replied with my intent to marry him.
