  1. ... and could help you too ...

If your having problems with your AOS ... maybe had the interview, but nothing is happening with your case ...

GET YOUR LOCAL CONGRESSMAN INVOLVED !!!

They have an immigration liason on thier staff most likely. Getting our local House Representitive involved really lit a fire under the local USCIS office ... I am truly convinced of that

  2. Thanks for the replies everyone ... and Congrats Joe on your new one !!!

Gary ... just did a little research and the letter for the next "appearance" (it doesn't say interview) was mailed to Ksenia's name only, which means it is probably a stokes interview. I've looked at many sample sites about the questions and we should have no problems there. Ksenia knows someone from work that took thier attorney along and it turned into just a straight interview, not 'stokes'. So my question is, should we snag an attorney for that morning? Will that help push off the 'stokes'? We've also heard of nightmares regarding 'stokes' and with the terrible I.O. we have, I'm afraid it will turn into HELL ...

I will drop a line to your email later ... see if I have the right address still ...

Anybody else who's been at this point, please feel free to respond !!!

    Thanks,

    Steve

  3. Hey all,

I wrote earlier how we had our interview February 23rd and how hostile the I.O. was toward us ... even going to the point of threatening my 7 year old daughter with deportation if she ever got a DUI in America ...

She gave us a RFE, which we completed with even more that she asked for.

Now, we have a 2nd interview with the I.O. requesting tons of MORE evidence as if the info sent earlier was irrevalent. There is mountians of evidence supporting us as a complete family. It is clear this I.O. is looking for anything she can point to, however miniscule, to deny our petition.

Should we file a complaint with the I.O. supervisor? Maybe even ask for the supervisor to attend the interview to assure fair and honest consideration in our case?

This I.O. is dead set to deny us. So what then? I've heard of a I-290 appeal but some immigration sites say you can't appeal a denied I-485. Can you take this to court and present your evidence to a judge?

3 years of a loving family with everything that goes with it ... could be ripped apart by 1 totally inept predjudice bitter person. Any thoughts or input (experience) would be appreciated.

    Good day

  4. Yes ... believe it or not ... this damn woman sat there and looked my 7 year old in the eyes and said "if you get a DUI, we're going to have to ship you back to Ukraine" ...

Is it normal for a interview person at USCIS to threaten little children ???

Scheduled an infopass for next week ... still hoping anybody else has experience on this ...

Gary ... Ksenia hasn't said anything at work ... however HR at the bank wants an update on her legal papers within a month ...

  5. Hello,

Anybody else have this happen ? My wife's K3 expires in May. We've had the interview ... with a total "######" of a USCIS interviewer ... she actually threatened my 7 year old daughter with deportation if she ever got a DUI as an adult ... I mean ... seriously ???

Anyway ... she wanted RFE. Sent MORE than she asked for ... said she'd get back to us in a couple of weeks ... been 5 weeks ... no decision ...

My wife's EAD expires in June ... she can't lose her job because of this ...

Anybody else "been there, done that" ???

    Thanks ;-)

  6. Hi there B-)

My wife is here from Ukraine on a K3. We've filed for the green card and are waiting for the interview. She has a work permit and thus a SS#. She's been working for 3 months now at a bank.

Does anybody have any suggestions or things they have tried to establish credit for their partner from another country? We were told to try and get some department store cards since they are easier to get than a 'bank' card ... but of course she got declined because she has no credit history.

So basically ... how do you get credit here ? Mine is toast so I can't bring her on to mine. She wants to establish some on her own.

    Thanks

  7. Good to hear fom you Steve! How are you and Ksenia?

Anyway, yes, you need another G-325a for Ksenia, not for you. You would also need one for Sasha. Make sure you list her current address(es) since she arrived.

    Good luck.

Thanks everyone ... and HEY to you Gary ! Good to hear from you. Sorry I haven't been around much. The girls went back to Ukraine for a couple of months to see family, we moved, you know ... life. How is your heart doing ? Give our best to Alla ...

We are filing this week ... hooray!

  8. Hey all :)

IS there anyone here who has gone through filing your taxes with your spouse (and maybe step-kids) on a K3/K4 visa?

This would have been a lot simpler if they had come on a I-130 or had their green cards ... but we didn't have the money at the time :(

Ksenia has her EAD and a SS# to go along with that ... so I'm hoping we can just use that number when we file. However, I'm guessing I need a TIN # for my step-daughter and need some info/help on that.

Anything you can share would be appreciated

    Thanks,

    Steve

  9. Hey all,

Anybody that knows me here knows my story ... I work 7 days a week and we still have a very tough time making ends meet. My wife and step daughter are here on a K3/K4 visa and we hope to have my wife's EAD by the end of the year.

With money so tight ... and no, we have no credit cards and no, we do not splurge on useless non-necessities ... The thought came to my mind about possibly applying for food stamps, medicare or any other government assistance. I have never filed for anything like this before.

My question is simply ... can we qualify for assistance in our situation ... because of the visas? Or would applying hurt our case when we go to file for her green card? I am only looking at some possible short term help until my wife can find work.

I hate the thought of filing for help ... I'd rather take care of things myself, as evident by my working 2 jobs ... but as everyone knows, this economy here is so rough ... and we could use a little help.

Simple, non-judgmental replies are appreciated. Thanks and have a great day ...

  10. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm ... there IS something strangely familiar about this place

Quick 'howdy' to everyone (F) And yes Cnt ... been under the sheets a LOT

I posted some pics on FB and will be posting some more in a little bit. Everything is going great with the family. I'm down to 2 jobs now, but still working 7 days a week. We are moving into our own place at the end of the month, and then will file Ksenia's EAD. Sasha will start 1st grade at the end of the month too.

Sorry I haven't been around much. I've sent some texts out but only got two replies. And there is 1 of you (you know who you are) that won't share texts with me :(:(:(

After the move and as things settle in more, I'll try to do a better job of staying in touch. In the meantime, {HUGS} to all my friends. I hope everything that you wanted and hoped for through this process is coming true and that you are happy being rejoined with your special someone (L)

  11. I think there will be a few of us in the near future applying for AOS close to our anniversaries. There were only about 5 of us that went the k3 route(seren doesnt count since she's going back for the CR1 interview :P) and I think we're all doing AOS later to get the 10 yr GC.

Our 1st anniversary is next Thursday, the 23rd ... and as you know Ksenia just got here. We will file our AOS next year after our 2nd anniversary to get the 10 year card as well.

Hope all is well for everyone ... sorry about your finger Jen. I missed the long story so shoot me a cliff notes version if you want

Gotta go ... enjoying being back to being a husband ... among "other" things *evil grin*

    ... and a dad too B)

  12. {HUGZ} and a big THANK YOU for all your kind & supportive replies

We are getting back into the 'family' routine :P It's hard to believe we've lost close to a year of our life together thanks to this process. (I know for some, it has been even longer).

I am unbelievably happy to have my girls home. One great thing is that, even thought this time has passed, now that we are together, it's like that time apart doesn't exist. We have picked up right where we were ... Ksenia & I madly in love ... and my little girl and I are closer than ever.

Sending my best wishes and Karma to all my friends and members here at VJ. Honestly, looking back, I don't know how I would have made it without all of your help through this long ordeal. Thank you so much! (F)

  13. Just in case I missed anybody on texts or emails ...

    Today ... 7:30 am ... my family became complete again !!! Can I say "WOOOOOOOOF'INGHOOOOOOOO" !!!

It was a long, tiring trip ... but we are both ecstatic to be back together where we belong (L)

Thank you for all your positive wishes and thoughts ...

    All the best,

    Steve & Ksenia & Sasha

  14. Hello everyone B)

I've been a little busy, working between 85-90 hours per week ... on Friday through Saturday, 40 hours straight, no sleep, every week ... so I haven't been around much to post ...

Two steps forward, one step back ... I went to book the tickets for Ksenia today. For 8 weeks they were $720 each. Even as recent as Monday night, same price. Got paid today, went online to buy tickets and ... BAM! $998 each ... f'ing a ...

So we have moved things back a bit ... as of right now, Ksenia and Sasha will leave Kiev Saturday the 11th and get in Denver 7:30 am Sunday the 12th. I found a place for us to last a couple of months until we figure out where in Denver we want to plant down some roots. The schools, neighborhood, etc. will have a lot of effect on that. Ksenia likes the downtown feel, so we will start looking around that area ...

I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you to those who take a second to send me a text once in a while. You ALL have my number ...

    Best wishes,

    Steve

  15. Greetings my long lost family :P

Sorry I haven't been around much. I picked up a 3rd job ... yes a 3rd one ... to try and help with plane tickets, etc. Imagine this, I am a bouncer at a sports bar in Denver. Probably hard to picture that ... right? Last Friday, I worked 19 1/2 hours straight, got one hour of sleep, then was up at 4 am to work my 12 hour shift on Saturday ... ugh! Can't do that too much ... I'm not 25 anymore :P

As of right now, we are still shooting for a July 8th return of my girls. Counting down the days ...

Has anyone heard from Caroline or Cintia? Haven't seen GS anywhere on here either ...

Shout out to my Sis ... thanks for the info

Cnt ... sounds like you have a lot of 'adjusting' going on in your life ;)

Jen ... How's the car? Any progress on your waiver?

Sarita ... you poor soul, stuck in Laguna all day :P Wear your SPF ! B)

Wendy ... Glad you found a little something to occupy your time. You'll have to tell me more about it. How is John?

Que & the gang ... hope everyone has a great weekend

  16. {HUG} and run :P

Wonder if Cintia made it safely to Atlanta ...

Jen ... back away from the ledge ;) and if you find a way to drop the weight quickly, let me know, I need to drop about 20 lbs before the girls get home

Cnt ... nice to see you back. My condolences on the sadness that entered your life (F)

Sarita ... our new little home maker :P Admit it, your having fun decorating the new place :)

No sign of GS anywhere ...

How crazy is it the Caroline gets Diego home ... then goes right back to CR for work? :P

Wendy ... hope you are feeling better

Hey Sis ... very, very happy that home life is going so well

Que & everyone ... have a great week

My life is pretty much on hold until July 8th ...
