  1. They will only be needing last year's income tax return. I brought 3 years of my fiance's w2 but they still wanted to see his tax return. Letter of employment should be a recent one (like maybe about a month ago). As for the bank statement, my fiance didn't send me so I didn't bring one but you can send yours to your fiance, it might help.

    Good luck..

  2. Try reading some interview experiences on the Reviews:Embassy. Click the Philippines and you will find lots of helpful information there.Good luck...

  3. Difficult sound for a Kano, ('ng" or ŋ is a velar nasal constant, and) the closest sound we have for the Filipino NG is singer, but not finger, it has a different "gher" sound. Pronounce singer, then drop the "er", then drop the f, then finally the i. This is as close to a natural American English sound he will know that will transfer in to Tagalog. I think I heard this from a TTC video, Understanding Linguistics. Try it, and tell me if you think it approximates the correct sound, or if anyone knows a better way to learn “ng”, please inform us, I am not PhD linguist, only a student of Tagalog.

After learning this, Mga, is only muh-"NG"Ah.

Thanks! We'll definitely try that and I'll let you know how it goes. He asked his daughter to read "MGA" but she pronounced it the way her dad did the first time :P

  4. My fiance doesn't cook, but he doesn't mind doing the dishes and the laundry. I do the cooking. And when it comes to watering and pruning the plants, we do them both. I can say that he doesn't mind doing house chores. And if he knew how to cook, he would do it too :P

  5. My fiance's using Rosetta Stone. It's a good one

He started learning a couple months before I came here. But he said it's better now that I'm here because he could ask questions. The funny thing is, he's having a hard time prnouncing words with NG, i.e. langoy, and MGA, :P

  6. NVC's the one that generates case numbers. No one can predict how long the process will take, you'll just have to wait. Once the USEM receives your case, they will send you or your fiancee a request letter for the designated emabassy. Your fiancee will go there and give them that letter together with the other requirements.

I'm just not sure how it works for HK, but after I applied for a clearance at the Israeli embassy, I didn't get to see nor got hold of it cuz it was an embassy to embassy case.

  7. I don't like to be judgmental, but I have to agree with this. You broke up with her, and six months later she's already living in Texas with her new husband? There is NO WAY she started this new relationship AFTER she broke up with you.

Even if things progressed at a lightening pace, there would have to be at least a few weeks of online courtship, a trip to the Phils to satisfy the 2 year meeting requirement, filing the I-129F immediately on return, incredibly fast processing by USCIS and the embassy in Manila, followed by an approved visa, a quick trip to the US, and then marriage to her Texas fiance. If it was a CR1 then it would have taken even longer.

No, she had this guy on a stringer before you broke up with her. Who knows how many other guys she may have also been playing. When you broke up she probably told this guy to file the petition the next day. Now she's probably decided she doesn't much like living where she's living, or who she's living with, so she's looking for greener pastures in addition to a green card.

I'm sorry, but the timeline just screams fraud. Keep shopping. You don't want this one.

  8. Congrats and welcome to VJ!

You can check out my PRISM and CFO experience. Here is the link:

It's just a simple walk in. However, it's better for her to go when she already has her passport with visa cuz once she's done with the seminar and she has her passport, she can go to the CFO office to have it stamped with the sticker. It will just be a one day process.
