I live in Toledo, Ohio. Although there's not so many Filipinos here, I've met quite a few at the mall and the Asian store I go to, so far all of them were nice.

Not all cases have the same timelines. It will come. Make yourself busy with other stuff because waiting is frustrating.
-
You have no choice but to go on with your sputum test. Just hope and pray that it will turn out negative. St. Lukes won't acknowledge any medical result from other hospitals.
-
It depends. For some, it took only a few days, others had to wait for a couple weeks and a few weeks to some.
-
It's fine. Just print your voice chat conversation and take it with you on your interview.

I also flew Delta last May. Like what others already said, bring a book if you love to read cuz it will be a long flight. Print your ticket online, and call the Delta office in Manila (you can use Google to search for their contact #) to inquire if the travel tax is already included in your ticket.
When you're in NAIA, prepare your ticket, passport, and the yellow envelope. Once you checked in your luggage at the Delta counter, you can go pay for the terminal fee, then proceed to the immigration. Then you can proceed to your gate to wait for your boarding time.
Mine was a direct flight but the plane had to refuel in Nagoya for a little over an hour. We still had to go through security there, and it took almost an hour, it was a good thing though, cuz we only waited for 10 mins, then boarded the plane again. Nagoya to Detroit was almost 12 hours, I slept on the plane most of the time. When we got to Detroit, the line in the immigration was very long. It took about an hour and a half. Just prepare the yellow envelope and your passport, as well as the I-94 that you will fill out on the plane. The immigration officer only asked me one question, "When do you plan to get married?"
She stapled the other half of I-94 to my passport after tearing off the yellow envelope. After that, I went to get my suitcases, then went through another line. Just an airport officer asking some questions about my luggage. She asked if I had food in my bag, I said yes (I had something to munch on the plane but wasn't able to finish it all), she then told me to go to another line for them to check my suitcases. After that, I finally got out then saw my hubby waiting for me

Ours took 4 months. Just be patient.

You can check the embassy info at the top of the page and click on Philippines. You will see there information about the US embassy in Manila, you can call the phone number you see there.
-
You can have it extended. USEM will automatically extend it, however, it's better if you still email them, ask for extension and explain your situation briefly.

Beneficiary here. I did the research part, however, I would send him some links so he would know what to do. And he did a great job cuz there was no RFE

If you're in the Philippines, what Philippine embassy are you referring to? Do you mean the embassy of the country (where you two got married) in Manila?

When I attended the seminar at PRISM, I met a girl who's married to a USC. She said one of the requirements of renewing her passport (she wanted to use her husband's last name) is to attend the seminar, however, she didn't go to the CFO office after the seminar cuz she needed to go to DFA to show them her training certificate. Go to the embassy first, cuz they might question her marriage cert. at the DFA.

Yes, it can be extended. We have ours extended two times because of my police clearance from Israel. However, if you want to extend yours, it's better if your fiancee will do her medical like 2 weeks before her interview cuz the medical is only valid for 4-5 months.
She can have her medical if she already has a letter from the NVC with your Manila case number, you don't have to wait for a letter from the embassy. You can scan it then send it to her.

You can have a co-sponsor when you do not meet the poverty guidelines. And if your co-sponsor meets the guideline, then go for it. Yes, it will be a big help so your wife can get her GC.
-
Have you thought about having a co-sponsor?

FedEx is good. It's fast and reliable. If you send it through USPS, once it gets to the Philippines, she might not receive it or will take about a month like what happened to us.

Hubby and I also noticed that Miss Thailand is hot
At least she got 2 awards (Ms. Photogenic & Best in Nat'l. Costume) even if she didn't make it to top 5
-
For her to save time, let her wait till she receives her visa cuz in that way, she can do the seminar and go have the sticker stamped to her passport in one day.

Miss Mexico didn't answer the question 100%, that's our opinion (me and husband)

In USEM, as long as the income is above poverty level, tax return is enough, however, we might not know what the pre-screener or CO would want to see. In my case, they only wanted to see the tax return, didn't ask for pay stubs or letter of employment. The CO asked me to provide a scanned copy of my fiance's 2009 tax return cuz I only provided his W2s.

Try to get to know her better first, get engaged, then get married. The good thing about getting married there is, it will save you some amount when she comes here cuz you won't have to apply for AOS that will cost you $1010

I chose Others, then I wrote K1 visa at the blank

The judges are looking for the contestants to share a personal experience. She should have prepared to answer such a question with some kind of personal struggle, even if she doesn't consider it major.
I agree

As long as you have your last year's ITR, no need to show them the W2s.

Right after the interview, I went to the mall to buy a card that I used on a payphone to call my fiance. Or better yet, she can buy one the day before her interview then just look for a payphone at the embassy where she can use it.
