How wonderful!! I sent my packet on the 22nd with USPS certified mail, thinking I'm in no hurry (which I'm not).
Well, their site didn't update any tracking info about my package, it just says that my package was accepted at the departure point...So, that could very well mean that it never left my post office.
I have had a similar experience. I posted it on Monday and have been checking all week to see if it had been received, which it hadnt. Then, thank goodness, it was finally signed for today. So dont worry, it is just taking its time in my experience if you dont 'overnight' it. Good luck.

quick question guys does anyone got a letter from uscis asking them its time to file ?!!!! coz i got one by the end of May and my due lol (not due as pregnant ) is june the 15th any idea what that supposed to mean
PS: my GC expired Sep 15th
Yes, I received a reminder letter to renew and my Green Card doesnt expire until mid August, so you aren't the only one
-
As much as we wanted to be and were suppose to be May filers, money is tight and May has come and gone. Good Luck to everyone. We'll be joining the June filers as our packet is getting sent out tomorrow morning, no matter what!
I know how you are feeling, I was hoping to file in May, but it looks as though it will be mid-june before we file, so will be a June filer as well. See you in that forum!
Good luck to everyone.

Hi!
As your son is included in your application you only need to pay for his Biometric fee.
Good luck
Thank you so much for your reply! I was SURE SOMEONE must have kids that they had to lift conditions for! LOL
I wish continued happiness for you and your family. Thank you.

Hi Guys! So glad things are moving along for you all. I will be a May filer and realise this is the March forum, but was hoping you may be able to tell me if I have to send an additional processing fee for my son when I send in my form. I know I have the additional cost of paying his biometrics, but do I need to pay for the form submission for him too as he will be on mine? I would appreciate any info you could give me.
Thanks so much!
-
Has anyone also had to file for their child/ren for lifting conditions too? My son came in on a K2 and I know I have to include him on the form, but do I need to just pay the biometric fee for him or is it like the initial GC application and I have to pay the full fee as well. Thanks for your help. I too should be applying soon. Good luck to everyone.

If anyone has any dependants that have not been given a Social Security number (like my son), you need to get form W7 from the tax office and send it off with your tax return so you can get the child allowance on your tax return. Call the tax office if you file your tax returns via Turbo Tax and they will give you a temp. social security number to enter so you can get your child deduction on the form but it needs to be printed, the number needs to be cleared from the form using white-out and then submitted with the W7.
The tax office will give you a tax number for your child that can be used each year from then on. It takes between 4-6 weeks for the number to arrive.
Hope this helps someone.
Good luck!

thanks, i have to go whit my baby he is only 3 years old, the other has 10, but i going whit him anyway !!
so they dont ask for nothing else? i should bring the i485 NOA too? or just the biometrics letters , plus our passports?
If I recall correctly they say on the biometrics letter what to take with you, take these documents that they list and you will be fine.
-
hi guys i got a doubt , we are suppose to recieve 3 documents to the end of the AOS , the AP is a piece of paper right? the EAD is in paper too or is a plastic card? and finally the GC is in plastic too?
thanks
karen
PS: I HATE IMMIGRATION TOO!!!
Yes, the AP is a document with your photograph printed on it. The EAD is a plastic card and the GC is another plastic card.
Aubrey: Hope you get your biometrics sorted out soon so you can move on with your EAD.
Thanks!!!
PS. update:
we send our AOS packet on 09/25 , they received on sep 27 and we received in mail ours NOAS in oct 2, so today we find in the mailbox ours letters for the biometrics, (10/27) but i have another doubt , i read that the biometrics are for people over 14 and under 65, so why the USCIS send the same letter for me, to my two kids under 14 years old, is just for take a picture or what?
thanks
karen
I had the same question when my 11 year old son got an appointment too. Yes, they do have to go along as well. They have their photos taken and the finger print of their index fingers for each hand, for the AP and for the Green Card (each has a fingerprint printed on it ). Dont worry, they will be fine. They called my son in first and I just asked if I could go in with him as I was his mother and I was there for an appointment as well, which they allowed me to do. We were in there about 10 minutes at the most.

Mara, I'm so sorry that they are still making you wait for the NOA2
More than words can say, I feel your frustration and that feeling of helplessness that comes with the black holes of immigration that we have fallen victim to. You are doing everything right and have done everything right, which makes it all the more frustrating, especially when I hear of approvals of people with significant immigration default histories, you both and we are good, law-abiding citizens that have unfortunate luck I guess...But I am really happy
that you guys are moving along with different plans of action. Don't let this system wear you down, and even though it may seem difficult, there is nothing more difficult than what you have already gone through, beleive me. Fall is here again, but no K-1 visa yet for my fiance. We were told that his AR was completed about 2/3 weeks ago, and then we were told they have put him in AP. So we don't know when he will get his K-1 visa, everyday is a new day full of hope (and then of course as each day passes without hearing any good news, the hope disappears, but we manage to pick ourselves up again and look toward a bright future, which seems far away thanks to the immigration system).
I wish you the best of luck, keep posting updates! I do check in this thread and the 6 months one every day, hoping to hear good news from you!
Marm, so sorry to hear that you are still stuck in AP. It is good to hear that you are still positive and that both of you are determined to overcome this 'glitch'. Hold on in there as you are doing, as you stated, you are good law-abiding people and it is your right to be together, forever. Keep fighting. We are all standing with you and your loved one.

Afternoon all.
Just thought I would update everyone, today Chris and I went to the court house and paid our $30 for a marriage license, it was quick and painless, no real questions asked, which after playing this game for so long surprised me....
The plan is to have a civil service later this week (which his dad is back in town) to get married and get our Australian and US spouse visa applications in before I go back to australia. Yes it will suck being married and apart, but hopefully it will only be 4 months, which in theory is shorter then the time after we got engaged that we were apart lol. Chris has already done his medical, applied for his FBI check and police check for the Aussie visa, im just waiting for some papers from home and we are almost good to go. As for the CR1 application it seems fairly straight forward (and there is a whole lot less paperwork in it then the Aussie one o.O) and we already have most of the things we need for it.
Hope everyone is going well and enjoying the fall, I love the colours the trees change too
Marm if your reading this, any word for you?
Sincere good luck with the Austrailian visa, I hope that this way works out better for you both and runs much more smoothly.
Congratulations on cementing your wedding plans, it will be fabulous! I am sure you will have a fantastic day.

I got an awesome update!!! My card production was ordered yesterday! Finally all that hard work and patience pays off.
Congratulations!!!! You worked really hard for this. So pleased for you.
Good luck to all of those who are still plodding through some of this treacle. Keep an eye on the horizon, believe it or not the end IS in sight.

Hi everybody!
I am sorry, I wasn't reading the forum for a long time. My GreenCard process became a big mess and the last two months were just horror for me and my husband.
First of all, CONGRATS to all that received their GC!!! THis is so exciting.
USCIS was giving us a really hard time. We received the invitation for our interview beginnging of July. The interview was scheduled for August 19th (a wednesday) at 1pm. Right after we received the invitation we called the customer service center and requested a reschedule, because my husband doesn't get any vacation because of the economy. And he has every other Friday off (plant shut downs) and is supposed to do all private issues on those Fridays. We called the service center again couple of times a week before our scheduled interview and they said even if we haven't heard anything yet about the reschedule, not to go down there. Two days after our scheduled interview I received a denial message saying "we didn't show up for the interview without sending the office a notice or reschedule request". So we went to our local office and they said this happens all the time and we will get a notice about the reschedule soon. Puh, we thought! Well, then our reschedule request was denied. Reson? "The request just seems to be more convinient for your husband". Give me a break!!! Loosing a job is not just a unconvienience it is also loosing the support for me requested by USCIS. So we went down their again and discussed a long time with the girl there. She said never to call the service center "they are just contractors", but to come to the local office instead. Then she told us to just send a new application for AOS, so another 1000$ NO WAY!! Well, after she recognized that we won't leave without at least speaking to her supervisor, we finally got to speak to him. Then he explained us that they don't do interviews on Fridays. Well, couldn't they just tell us that and with that letter my husband could have gone to his employer and request to have a half day off. So the supervisor discussed a long time with my husband and we ended up having our interview right away (and this was a Friday). Totally unprepaired, but we did it. And then....my medical was missing. Great!!! So I talked to the German doctor who did it. She said she doesn't have anything. Then I called the embassy in Germany and they finally found it and sent a copy to me and I submitted it yesterday. Hopefully now the story is over and I will finally get my GC. Getting to denial letters in a row is really frustrating.
When I was down there yesterday I have met another couple which got a denial letter because they didn't change their address. Well, they did through the service center, but it never got through!
So to finalize that whole story: "NEVER CALL THE SERVICE CENTER FOR IMPORTANT ISSUES!!!!
Wow so sorry that you had to go through all of those hoops. It's a good job you had previous experience and held your grounds!!! Fingers crossed you are through the minefield now and just awaiting the arrival of your GC.

just want to share to everyone that i just receive a letter of approval for my residency card and it was stated in the letter to expect my green card within 30 days but to my surprise...my husband woke me up with an envelope on hand and when i opened it it was my residency card! very fast!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Whereis everybody......
I quit responding since nobody responded to me anymore anyways.
I have stopped posting too as it seems my posts are invisible
.....you dont think we have all started doing this do you?
-
They only have the shifts they offered. Animal care is so competitive. I've calmed down a bit now and apologised to my husband for getting so frustrated, and will carry on applying and offering specific times that I can get to.
Hopefully next year we can get another car... if we ever manage to get a full-time position to afford one, that is.
Gemmie I am in a similar position. I have all the papers to allow me to work but we dont have a second car. My husband needs ours for his part-time job so I have been stuck in the house for nearly 6 months now. We cant afford a car until he gets full time work and then it will be a push. I understand how frustrating it is as I know that we would be much better off if I could actually get to work. Public transport isnt big here either.
I know that eventually things will pan out, but it can be frustrating meantime.

OMG!!!
