  1. Don't let facts get in the way. Just post something like that and call it good. That way you don't have to actually do any homework aka think.

your post is a perfect description of yourself.

first, you can stop perpetuating your alternate reality where you grew up in norman rockwell's america. in that regard, your first homework assignment is to research mass shootings in the u.s. over the past thirty years.

  2. the op is confusing correlation with causation. that's one of the problems with using an ideological analysis of an issue rather than a scientific analysis.

here's another fun false correlation for your reading enjoyment:

"...in the past decade, average job growth was nine times higher in the states whose names start with the letters N-Z than in states whose names begin with A–M (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics 2010a). Yet no one would suggest that a state could improve job growth by changing its name."

Right to Work: The Wrong Answer for Michigan's Economy.

  3. Damn you and your facts. How unfair of you to use facts in an argument with a liberal

OMG .. You don't get sarcasm do you. Just for the record, there is no such thing as original Caucasian inhabitants in the USA. :bonk::bonk:

oh and P.S. while you were focusing on my my vs. you're you missed caucasian Caucasian .. Carry on ..

Thank you I will take the gloves off long enough to say I thought that was fairly obvious

Gloves back on--All you liberals are just alike, you all want free stuff , and Obama was born in Kenya

i get sarcasm when it isn't botched like yours was. it wasn't the 'usa' before 1776, now was it?

ok, let's get back to your support of bad daddy's so-called 'facts' and 'statistics.' since you failed to respond when i refuted his lame argument, i take it that you now agree with me.

  4. So I will ask again since not one liberal can answer my question. What specifically is it that Democrats do for Minorities that make them love them. Saying Jobs, Health Care, education etc etc are nice fuzzy general terms. Those are nice generic terms that can be used with no real understanding of the issues. So one more time for all you Liberals. What and be specific. Saying they like him because he is sympathetic to them is absurd and the talking point of a someone that does not understand the issues/.

So we have about 15 tries and all I have so far is "he gave the Hispanics the dream act" from the libs ??/

As for this poster comments. I love you enlighted liberals who are so unbiased and PC then make comments like "Latinos are smart and they have good memories". O k I will bite. They are smart as opposed to ? Are you suggesting one racial group is smarter than the other ?

I do live in the real world and have dated several Latino women. My real world is 55 hour work weeks, busting my butt since I was 15 and giving about half of what I make to the Govt, who blows it for me. Just for the record I employ several Latino workers. Damn good workers the whole lot of the, Good people also.

latinos are smart compared to your opinion of their intelligence. we understand the issues just fine. what part of 'bush ruined the economy' don't you understand? what part of being disrespected by conservatives don't you understand? the only absurdity in this conversation is your stubborn refusal to accept any answers which don't fit your bigoted views.

it's telling that you're posting here instead of asking your latino employees. based on your attitude on display here, i wouldn't blame them for avoiding telling you how they feel about any issue. also, it's no mystery to me why you didn't end up with a latina.

  5. I don't know why. You keep telling us because they support issues that are important to them .What are they ?

Ok I will ask you also. What is it that Blacks and Latinos get from Obama they do not get from the Pubs. What specific issues are they ?

Many many Posts and still not one Liberal who said that Minorities voted for Obama because they support the issues that are important to them and listen to them. Not one Person has given me anything specific ?

Embraced them how. What issues make Blacks and Hispanics vote Democrat ? Maybe you can be the magic Liberal that answers the question.

i've noticed you like to talk a lot. i've also noticed that your talking gets in the way of your listening. yelling doesn't help either. it's just plain rude.

i already posted the two major issues in which we latinos are in solidarity with democrats. those issues are jobs and the economy. latinos also trust the democrats on the issues of health care, education, and immigration. if you don't want to take my word for it, there's lots of reputable polling data out there for those who aren't too lazy to look for it.

the only thing romney promised was another bush economy. latinos are smart and they have good memories. they remember that bush ruined the economy.

another thing that you need to understand is that the republicans give no respect to latinos. it's even worse for our black brothers and sisters. they've had to endure four years of right-wing knuckle draggers spouting racial memes at obama.

if none of what i'm saying resonates with you, then i would suggest that you get out there in the real world and make some latino friends.

Chicago Homicides Outnumber U.S. Troop Killings In Afghanistan

    Posted: 06/16/2012 3:31 pm Updated: 08/16/2012 4:24 pm

The war zone-like statistics are not new. As WBEZ reports, while some 2,000 U.S. troops have been killed in Afghanistan since 2001, more than 5,000 people have been killed by gun fire in Chicago during that time, based on Department of Defense and FBI data.

one city? one type of crime? that's all you have? that's your idea of national crime statistics? that's pathetic. an epic fail.

here's your homework for today: actual facts.

cacahuate, i'd like to introduce you to peanut.

Damn you and your facts. How unfair of you to use facts in an argument with a liberal. They are like Mac users when I was a PC Admin. User-I wants a MAC. Me-Why, User-They are better, Me-In which way, -User- I don't know just better, Me-Surely you have something about them you like better, User-getting mad.. No it's just better...

    peanut, meet cacahuate.

you're welcome to share cacahuate's homework lesson.

  7. The crime rate has evolved over the past 50 years to epic proportions along with welfare.

Let's pretend that we are actually talking facts here. Not fairy tale idea's, but actual facts back up by actual statistics.

ok, i'll bite. link me to your 'actual facts' backed up by 'actual statistics' which show the crime rate has increased to 'epic proportions.' if you can't find any 'actual facts' backed up by 'actual statistics,' then 'facts' backed up by 'statistics' will do just fine.

  8. blah blah blah. The Hispanics voted for him in record numbers for the fact he plans on giving them all a free ride in regards to US IMMIGRATION. Ya you know the immigration process you went through or are going through now. Well they don't have to bother with that. In fact try looking at these forums closer and you will notice that the legal visa process is going at a snails pace atm because of his free ride to ILLEGALS. So knowing that all of us here have the IQ above a peanut let's stick to reality.

you really need to give your keyboard a rest and actually go out and get to know the people you're talking about. latinos deeply care about jobs and the economy. they care about sending their children to good schools. they are hard-working folks who go to church and try to raise their families the best they can. they also care about immigration, although not the way you portray it. most latinos support more secure borders and support a work visa program as much as they support obama's executive order or the dream act. they are not one-issue voters.

My family/ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War along with the French - Indian War before that. I doubt they had a welfare system back then though.

you're right. in the 'good ole days', debtors were thrown in prison, children worked, and people starved to death.

  9. I agreed with the OP that it is a sad day for America. America is in sad shape and not just today. I didn't even say anything in particular about either candidate. If I had, I would be making a judgment on their ability to lead the country, not the heart of their being, which is the point of a vote. Either way, I didn't curse a thing.

so you would have us believe that it's just a coincidence you happen to be posting on election day?

  10. something I have noticed is breastfeeding.... almost seems normal and natural in my wife's village. Something moms are expected to do. In the US, it is completely going against the grain. Any mom breastfeeding in the US can expect either praise or ridicule. And usually if you are out, are expected to "cover" yourself in the US for exposing yourself during feeding. Explaining this to my wife is not easy. Village culture she grew up in is very different.

it's a very simple concept. why is it so difficult for you to explain it to your wife?

  11. caution, hazardous smell ahead !

Sorry, but the "Untrained, Untouched" is a late-bloomers fantasy that's really overrated and kind of creepy. If a 21 y/o girl anywhere is still that way, it's not because of morals or last-minute resistance; it's because nonody's ever tried.

daroq, my wife and i both smell something.

let's see if anyone else smells a big steaming pile.

    hank?

That is totally a bunch of BS on your part.

looks like hank smells it too.

    anyone else?

My wife and I have to strongly disagree with this comment (in bold). All of her female friends and cousins would also disagree. We aren't offended but feel that you may be ignorant when it comes to the subject.

looks like kev and jena smell it too.

let's see what daroq says about the foul odor.

    daroq, where are you?

How is it BS? A 2007 survey about the age of first sexual encounter in 44 countries shows the average age to be from 15.6 - 23 years old. The Philippines wasn't included, but a 2008 survey by the National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) shows that a large number of births occur in women age 20 - 24, and moreso in rural areas.

hey daroq, the smell is getting worse. you told me you were talking about the philippines. you said that was the context of the conversation, didn't you? now you're quoting surveys which don't even include filipinos. i call bs on you! by the way, a large majority of the women in those surveys are married aren't they? doesn't that mean your surveys don't support your bs?

    let's see what hank says.

    hank?

Who give a rat's azz about a survey. So you are of the belief that a woman that is still a virgin at age 21 or older because that is her choice is not a reality? You believe the poster I was replying to that its because "nobodys tried" .... to that I still respond.... BS! Your thinking is SO derogatory towards women!

thanks hank. that confirms our suspicion.

hey b_j, you're doing good work with that shovel. keep on digging!+1 for you !

  12. Sorry, but the "Untrained, Untouched" is a late-bloomers fantasy that's really overrated and kind of creepy. If a 21 y/o girl anywhere is still that way, it's not because of morals or last-minute resistance; it's because nonody's ever tried. But if that's your thing, throw some patis on it and shuck away...

Just curious... if there are "Many oysters in the world to choose from", why go halfway around the world to pick one when there are many here already? Don't the seasonings and spices work just the same? LOL

Don't be projecting your view of the world on places you have never been, or don't know anything about.

 Huh? I'm Filipino and have been there (in the province) more than a handful of times. Maybe not as much others, but I grew up "Filipino" to the point of knowing how to cut cane, pick otong/sitaw, fish with nets, and kill a pig or goat and preparing it for cooking on a wood "stove". That is the reality of the places I visit even today. I can say that I've experienced the same level of poverty as any of these people do today.

where did you say anything about the philippines in your previous post? you said "anywhere" and "halfway around the world."

  13. You know... I think you hit my bottom 20 with that list... :help:

    ......not the top 20.....

darren, that was your list, not mine. you said you wanted to talk about lively, funny, and light-hearted stuff, but you went on to post a laundry list of your problems. what's up with that?

Kroger, Safeway, Food lion, Albertson's are "not her food stores", only the Asian market is "her store". (she actually said this recently, I boiling mad inside, but I did not say anything.)

this was one of the most disturbing things you said. why in the world were you boiling mad that gretchen likes the asian market? isn't the asian market the store where you can buy filipino food? what's wrong with gretchen eating filipino food? strange.

The hard part has been getting bank accounts setup with her on them so she can take care of bills, plus know where money is going... there has been the perception of us having lots and lots of money plus also the shock in cost of items in the USA being more then expected by her standards.

darren, would you please stop blowing hot air. there's nothing hard about setting up bank accounts. it took 15 minutes at the bank for my wife and i to do it.

also, gretchen has been there for nine months, so she knows how much things cost. if you have shown her your monthly household budget and she still has the perception that you have lots of money, then there's a problem. then she's telling you she doesn't care.

  14. All you have to do is show up. You will be given an intial 21day visa. After that period of time has ended you have 2 choices. Either to renew the visa or just pay the fine on the way out at the airport. It's only roughly $75 or 3000php.

  15. If you want to truly help, then keep your nose out of it. If this girl's father cannot convince her to forget about the guy, who do you think you are to change her mind? Putting your nose in another person's business is giving a bad name to kanos coming to the area. You're acting like they are too stupid and naive to handle their own affairs and need being saved by the big great white man. Her father knows he's trouble, and no doubt everyone else does to. You really need to stop portraying the village as being these helpless tribal natives who don't know what they're doing. You're just setting yourself up for an eventual big fall if you keep it up. They know thousands of times better what works there than you do with your few weeks of vacation time in the country.

I wish I could +1 this more than once.

    Done ~ :star:

    and done ~ :star:

  16. hehe, the problem was my manager did not let me bill comp time the first visit on vacation.... so I had to eat food in the pantry... Still had steak, chicken, etc. Just no "nice meals" dining out.

But a good point almost all Americans have bank accounts and savings plus credit cards. Some Filipinos do not have bank accounts or a savings account...

Plus, as others have pointed out: most Americans compete with the "Joneses" on things while many Filipinos just get what they need to live.

wasnt that you who posted that you were broke and in debt after your last trip to the philippines when you brought your fiancee to the u.s.? and what difference does it make if you have a bank account if you are broke? isnt charging up your credit card the same thing as a filipino getting credit at the sari sari? do you see any hypocrisy in your statements?
