  1. Hello guys, My fiancee and I submitted everything to the embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan about three weeks ago and we are still waiting to here something back regarding an interview. We call them and they say it takes 2-4 weeks. I emailed them and asked them what was giong on and they told me that we have still not recieved your documents but please allow us 2-4 weeks to update our computers. When my fiancee called them they told her that your paperwork has been recieved we are just waiting to process it. What should I do? How long does it typically take to get an interview in Pakistan? Also, how far out do they schedule the interview from the time its processed? Im just really trying to get all this stuff done asap so I can get to Pakistan in December and bring her to America. Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated!! Thank you

    Adam

    Adam,

I am over looking a K-1 visa for my sister and I was doing alot of research to find out what to expect next. Here is what i have found, which may be helpful to you:

    * Average days between Sending packet 3 and recieving the interview date is about 15 days in Pakistan. If you don't recieve it by then, your file is sitting on the wrong desk and the guy is simply lazy.

    * Average days between recieving the packet 4 and the interview date itself is 25 days in Pakistan. It usually is pretty consistant.

the worst timeline i have seen so far is a guy recieving an interview date after 35 days of sending a packet 3.

After looking at your timeline, I think you have plenty of time if you plan on going to Pakistan in DEC. Even if they take 35 day to send you packet 4, you should still get your Visa before the end of December.

Here is another thing you should be aware of; sometimes at the interview they approve your Visa but send your case to a "security check" that can take upto 35 days. This usually happens to guys and not girls.

    I hope this helps you.

    Good luck

    Shan.

  2. Ok, here is the situation. This question is from my sister and her fiance.

My sister is in Paksitan and her fiance is a US citizen. He has applied for a K-1 visa for her. They have recieved a 3.5 packet. Which requires for them to collect a police report for my sister from every city she have lived in for more then 6 months since the age 16.

My sister went to china as an international student and she was never a resisdent there. She pretty much stayed on campus during her stay in china. She never made any friends or know any relatives. She has no contacts in china. At this point she can't obtain a police report from china unless she travels back to china. Her police report for Pakistan is clear.

Is there a way to wave her requirement for a police report from China? Since it is almost impossible to get it.

Any information will really help. We are really worried.

    Thanks.

  3. hi,

This e-mail is not for me it is for my sister's case. The case is in US embassy located in Pakistan.

The embassy sent us an e-mail with packet 3.5 in it on September 24th. We did not recieve it. We have three main question

    * Are we going to recieve a paper copy of that in mail?

    * What is the contant of that e-mail if it is for packet 3.5

    * Does a police department require any decuments from the packet 3.5 inorder for them to creat a police report?

I will highly appliciate any feed back.

    Thanks.

  4. My fiancee is going to be having an interview sometime before this month is over, and was just wondering if there was any helpful info from anyone in the forum regarding the interview at the Islamabad US Embassy in Pakistan? If there is any info at all, whatever you have will be greatly appreciated, thank you very much!!

    Hi,

I have a quick question for you. How did you recieve packet 3 electronically? did it come in your e-mail? My sister is expecting a packet 3 soon. could you possible tell me what is required now adays in packet 3? i will highly appriciate your reply.

    Thanks.

  5. So you have not adjusted her status at all? not even right after you were married?

Not a K-1 Fiance(e) visa general discussion topic... moving thread

No, i haven't applied for an adjustment of status at all.

Simple file for divorce, I am assuming she will came as CR1 which means she has to be married to you for 2 yrs.

If she is not married for 2 yrs then she cannot get the GC.

I know, but i want her out of USA. I feel she has used me to get into this country.

  6. hi,

I have been married for almost 2 years now. Our marriage is going nowhere. I think we both know that we are getting seprated but she is demanding a Green Card from me before we go our own way. There have been threats made to my family from her family, which is the main reason I want to have nothing to do with her and now I don't want to give her the Greencard either. Here is what i need to know.

How can i get her to leave USA?

    Thanks,

  7. Hello all,

Here is our situation, we got engaged in Pakistan and she got her K-1 visa and she arrived in U.S on 16th of April. We got married early May and then Mom pasted away in June and I had to travel back to Pakistan for a month. When I came back in July, we realized that our marriage is really weak. Too much emotional disturbance in the house just took us a apart. At this point we are both trying really hard to work on our marriage but it’s going nowhere. We have talked about it and we think maybe we need a little time apart and give each other some room to get things on the calmer side. Being in each others face is simply not helping. She would like to travel back to Pakistan for the time being.

Now that was the personal end of the story. I need help with the legal end from you guys. Here are my questions.

We haven’t filed the change of status for her yet. What is our deadline to do that?

How long is she considered legal in U.S. after entering on K-1 visa and getting married within 90 days.

If she decides to travel back to Pakistan, should we file for change of status before she leaves?

Will she be able to travel back to U.S. or will I be able to sponsor her back as a husband once she is in Pakistan without filing for change of status?

Please feel free to give as much info as possible. I am really stressed. Thanks.

  8. Hello my people,

simply wanted to update you guys that Irum has arrived in USA. The immigration was smooth at Washington Dallus airport. All they asked her was if she knew the wedding date and she simply replied that the plans are still not final.

I hope you guys are doing well.

I am open to all types of advice, where should i begin, what should i apply for next.

    Thanks,

    shan.

  9. Hello my people,

she flew Qatar airways and only had good things to say about her experience.

I hope you guys are doing great.

  10. Salaam,

My wife's visa was approved today. Her interview was short but she was at the embassy for a while just waiting for her turn, and also they were apparently having issues with the fingerprinting machine. The interview was only 2 minutes. All they asked was how we met, if we were related (we are distant cousins), and really not much else. They didn't even look at pictures or anything else that my wife had taken. In fact, my wife thinks she saw a document with "approved" written on it even before her interview, so that was weird. Anyways, I just hope she will get her passport soon (they said 10 days). We have a flight scheduled, hopefully won't have to move it back. I'll post more details once I get them all.

Thanks everyone for your help and support!

    Congrats from us!!!

    and good luck!

  11. salam all,

I simply wanted to update my VJ family and that I purchased Irum's ticket yesterday and she will be here next week. I will keep you guys updated on her experience with the immigration process. Keep us in your prayers.

    Shan.

Congratualtions. Have a safe trip and please accept my best wishes for you both.

    peace

    ~kris

Congrats to all that have gotten your visas...Kris, good luck with your process...it sounds like it is almost over. I cant imagine how difficult this must be on you and Waheed. I am off to Karachi tomorrow for 2+ weeks and will be bringing my amazing soon to be wife back with me. Thanks to all from this site with your valuable info that has helped us along the way. I will make sure i write about our experience going through immigration at JFK when she comes back. I dont see it being an issue as she has been to the US about 10 times already and has never had any problems. Lastly, I posted her interview experience on the Islamabad Consulate feedback page for anyone that will be having your interview soon. hope it helps.

    Yaar,

I only have one thing to say about JFK immigration, (they are A.. holes). I am sorry to use such foul language but I have traveled alot in my life and only twice i entered through JFK. Both times, they held me there for 3 to 4 hours to do a back ground check.

I have been living in U.S my whole life, yet i am pulled out of line at JFK simply because I am a Pakistani, Male, between 20 and 30 years old. I am sure it fits the profile for the "he must sit at the sideline for 3-4 hours and think about why his parents are Paki's".

I love this country but I don't like the way I am treated at JFK.

Bottom line, I would avoid JFK, if i were you. I have never had any problem entrying U.S. at any other airport.

    Just an advice.

    Shan.

  12. Salam all,

Please except my apologies for not being able to reply to your posts earlier. I ran a marathon over the weekend and I was sleeping for hours after that, therefore I couldn’t check the posts.

Yes, It is true. We received our passport in 3 days. I was surprised to see it too because I have read that at times it take up to three weeks for people in Karachi to receive their passports.

but I think the reason may have been because I live 5 miles away from the embassy and they simply hand deliver the passport to our local AmEx facility in Islamabad.

My advice would be to simply (take no tension). The passport will somehow make it to our homes.

    Shan.

  13. Thank you everyone for all the Mubaraks, We highly appriciate it.

Today, We simply wanted to share that we recieved the physical passport with the visa.

    Shan.

  14. We had the interveiw today and we got the Visa!

    Mubarak Mubarak!

Can I ask you a question? I am about to send my Fiance all the doc required for Packet 3. Does the following sounds correct?

    DS-230-1 2 copies

    DS-156K

    DS-156

    DS-157

    I134 - Not Notorized

    Copy of my tax return

    W2

    Employment Letter

    Bank Letter

    6months statement from bank

Her English Translated Birth certificate + 1 copy

    Police Record

    2 Photogragh

    Her Passport

Copy of Letter she received from the embassy

Am I missing anything? Your response will be appreciated

    Thanks!

Everything sounds great except you don't want to send the original passport, you want to send the copy of your passport.

You will need your passport for the Medical exam.

let me know if you have any more questions.

    Shan.

    we r waiting....=)))

    good lucks brother!

No yaar she did not get her visa. She was told to make her police certificate from Lahore and Kohat. They showed her a sample of certifcate "Ke aise banana hai". I was wondering if any of u could please scan and show me a sample of their police certificate? I will appriciate that. Ummm it's kind of confusing. She said the lady was about to keep the passport and then she looked at the police certificates and told her to remake them. She said she was asked to take an oath and told that her visa is approved. There is a pink sticker attached to her passport and they gave her a blue page that says to send back her police certificates and passport through AMEX. So many things at one time. I am lost. Anyone knows what might be the case here. I am very looking forward for someone to send me sample police certificate please.

Yaar, sorry to hear that she didn't got the visa but after reading her experience it seems that the only thing standing between her and the visa is this police report and as soon as your provide it to the embassy they will provide her with the visa.

they are simply looking for the correct documentation of the police report. I wouldn't worry about this. you simply have to wait a couple of more weeks longer then expected but you are on the right track.

    Good luck.
