  1. I just read all of this and now I am so worried. They just entered our DS 230 and I looked at our question 20 and it says 10-1977 to 10-2008. I am such an idiot. I didn't even think to put present. I am so mad at myself. Do you think I am going to get an RFE now. Should I just resend it in now or wait for an RFE?

I was hoping to hear a case complete with you on Friday because I know that's what is going to happen for you!!! I am saying a prayer for you right now.

  2. Yes. Be careful with the "living" and "visiting". We got in trouble with that and they took him to the back to question him. Also, we were in the exact same situation. We married while on the VW and then filed while he was still here. He did have to go back though to finish the processing and your girlfriend will have to go back for the interview. But stay out the visa in the meantime. Just don't stay over and be careful when filling out your paperwork.

  3. It took close to two weeks for them to receive mine from CSC to NVC. Just focus on making sure that you have all the paperwork and documents you need for NVC. This process goes so fast and so you want to be sure that you have it all packaged and ready to go. They are much more responsive there. I don't think that they will track from the VSC to NVC.

My advice is to follow this from Ling Che...I worked almost exactly

  4. I need a little advice. Like usual. My hubby just received the K3 appointment package and I was going to try to do the process where you change your interview from a K3 to a CR interview. It says though that I have to send in all of the original documents to them which is impossible because I just sent all of our originals to the NVC. Shall I just cancel the K3? And how would I do that? I just overnighted our IV Package to NVC this morning before work. I'm confused.

I kind of asked the same question before and the answer I was given was to just ignore any corresspondence that we receive regarding the k3. Dont cancel anything just ignore it and dont send anything back. I hope this is the right answer because that is what I was told here on VJ.

Great! Thanks. Sort of what I figured.

  6. So....I am just waiting for my IV Fee to be generated so that I can pay online. In the meantime, I have the entire packet together for the DS-230. My one questions is whether I need to have the police clearance certificate finished and sent in with the packet. I thought that you only had to bring that to the interview but now it seems that I have to mail it in with the DS-230 packet. We actually have one certificate but my hubby didn't realize that you need the fingerprinting too. So he had to go redo it. Do you think it would be okay just to send the certificate for now and the fingerprints later? Also, if I do need the fingerprinting for the DS-230 packet, can I just have him send them directly to the NVC to add to my file or should I wait for him to send them to me and then send them all at once? It takes usually 10 days quickest to get here from Australia. Yuck!

WAIT WAIT..what fingerprints you talking about to be sent with DS230? there is no such thing i read to be attached

    only items are

    -marriage certificate

    -birth certificate

-police certificae (local and passport office) depends upon location

    -photo

    -photocopy of passport

    -Cover page from website

    -signed form

    Hi Paul's Mrs.

I have read in WIKI guide that we also need to submit 2 affidavits from third party who can attest that marriage is legit. Do we really need to send this along with the DS-230? Thanks!

I didn't see that requirement but I did send in the 2 affidavits from third parties in my initial I-130 package. I am not going to send these in again with my DS-230.

  7. So I just called and asked if they have received my DS3032. They said yes but that I have to wait for my letter before I can pay the invoice. Is that true or will the invoice show up online?

if you have your iin then you can go ahead and pay. It won't even allow you to pay online if your COA is not accepted.

Aww so there is a different IIN for my IV bill than my AOS bill. There are two different IIN's? Just to clarify. There is an IIN for our AOS and a different one for our IV bill? They said they received our COA but it has not showed up online in the payment center as invoiced yet.

I am not sure. Does it depend on which country you are coming from?

    This is from http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc..._3504.html#docs

    If you reside outside Australia

Applicants who live overseas should refer requests to the Australian Federal Police. Applicants are required to apply for a police certificate based on a name and fingerprint check. Police clearances issued on the basis of only a name check will not be accepted. More information is available on their website at: http://www.afp.gov.au/ or via e-mail at vetting@afp.gov.au.

    If you reside in Queensland

Check with your local police station if you need an appointment, then go in person to be fingerprinted. You must pay the prescribed fee of AUD146.70 (subject to change, please check the current fee with the police) and complete an indemnification form required by the Queensland Police Department. You must then forward the fingerprints, completed indemnification form, and payment to:

Inspector of Police, Information Bureau, Miscellaneous License Section, GPO Box 1440

    Brisbane, QLD 4001. Telephone: (07) 3364-6854.

Please find further details on the Queensland Police website.

  10. Wow this is a tough one. The only advice that I can share is that I have had a bad relationship previous to this one. I was treated bad and was constantly disrespected. What I learned from my hubby is that behavior like that is not normal. You should not take it and it is not worth it. Life is prescious. Time is prescious. You are only 22 and as easy as it sounds for me to tell you to leave, I know it is not that easy. Be strong and know that you still have your full life ahead of you. Drama hurts. Be strong and try to look at the bigger picture. Find a girlfriend. They are always good at putting things into perspective. Also, your family just wants what is best for you. Maybe talking to your grandmum might help you decide. It's all your choice but know that things can be better. Be strong and good luck.

  11. I used to cry alot. As time goes by, it gets easier. This is so strange, but....the saddest time for me is grocery shopping at our local store. It makes me so sad so I now drive an extra two miles to a different grocery store. Other than that, it is okay to cry. Be tough. It does get easier even though right now it probably feels like the end of the world. Just read stories on VJ of people who have been going through this process for over a year. That picks up my spirits and make me realize that we can get through it. Anyhow, be strong and keep up the faith.
