  1. I talked with someone this morning at NVC - she said case shipped and that they are waiting for the embassy to assign an interview date, then NVC will notify me of that date. After I got off the phone, I used the DHL tracking and saw there is one case that shipped during the time my case was approved and I assumed it must be my case. I forgot to ask the NVC agent what the tracking number was.

  2. Congrats!!  I hope your spirit starts building itself up again with the more tangible goal of soon being with your loved one!

Congratulations!! :jest::dancing: You had me laughing at your Heat/Pacers comment in your signature. Def a good day for you!

Thank you - spirit is building up. It's 13 months 17 days since I started this process thanks to USCIS sluggishness. The NVC process I think is a complete waste of time for everyone (all they do is receive, verify, compile documents and say this "you have to wait 30 days bullcrap"). The process can be simplified by having NOA2 notification sent directly to the embassy from USCIS and have the beneficiary take all necessary documents to the embassy for interview.

  3. How sweet is this, congratulations so happy for you. :) Ummm what is the Great Am?  (F)(L)(F)

Thank you Soloenta. "Am Who I Am = God"

Very efficient.. you mailed your IV docs and AOS without a paid cover sheet...?

I waited for my Cover sheets- and I also got a checklist on my AOS- although my AOS passed for the primary case-- my second case did not have copies of the supporting documents because I didnt make TWO COPIES of everything... I am still waiting on my IV docs to be reviewed also---

    you did VERY VERY good..

    Congrats

    longtrip almost over...

Thanks - I didn't have to wait for my cover sheets; they were available immediately after payment.

congratulations on your case number! Be sure to read Saylin's wiki, as the time frames they quote to you are often overstated and you can speed up the process by knowing what to do next :secret:

    Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! :goofy::dancing::goofy:

As stated many times, we're always willing to help, but you MUST read Saylin's wiki found in the first page of this thread. The questions you are asking are ones you should have answers to by now if you've followed this thread or read the wiki.

    Thank you!

That's great news! Congratulations! I think I should call sooner than the end of the week!

Thank you - I started calling them every day 10 days after they scanned my package in their system.

  4. Joke of the day:

I just got off the phone with NVC. Jim answered the phone:

Jim: Thank you for calling NVC. My name is Jim. Can I put you on hold for a second.

    me: Sure.

Thank you for calling. Your call is very important to us...

Jim: I'm back. Thank you for holding. Can I have you case or receipt number?

    me: CSB2014XXXXXX

Jim: name and date of birth of the applicant.

me: Mrs XXXXX, May 25, 19XX

    Jim: Name of the petitioner

    me: XXXXXXXX

Jim: your phone # is, email address is.... How can I help you?

me: just checking for any updates:

Jim (disgusted): Nothing changed since the FOUR times you called today.

    me: Thank you

I did not know they keep a log of how many times we call. I was so embarrassed.

etrangais, you should have a case complete by Friday. I am hoping for a case complete this Friday or latest Monday next week. I am praying for a June interview (July is too far after waiting 11 months for a NOA2). Once case is complete I will start calling DOS @ 202-485-7600 (option 1 and 0) to check for interview schedule.

  5. hey guys . we need your help .. my wife made 2500$ in 2011 and the same she did in 2012 but in 2013 she made 29000 $ .than she started a new job since june 2013 to till now she has made 34000$ .. so is it be enough for 4 family member ? and what year we should mention in affidavit 2013 or 2014 ? please any help will be highly appreciated .. thanks alot all fo you ...

I noticed your wife local office is Chicago, meaning she resides in the Chicago area and Assuming your wife is not on active duty in the U.S Armed Forces, For family of 4, she would have to make $29,812.

You should mention 2013 with her 2013 Tax Return. Also include her W2.

  6. just talked to Amanda.. There is not a computer glitch at the NVC... she said they had high winds yesterday and it might have caused a problem but they are fully operational tonight, It was only delaying the payments.... nothing else.

She explained the interview scheduling to me. Costa Rica is not a country that has a lot of calls coming in. GOOD for me !!

I should hear something next week

someone actually picks up the physical file and processes it. I asked her if everything was scanned or just the coversheet... Just the coversheet...

She asked me if I was the law office... I had to laugh... I told her I can't get them to wrk for me on normal business hours... they wouldn't be calling at 9:30 pm.. She was laughing... What a nice person ..She said I sound so professional....

    Amanda RULES !!

How does the interview scheduling process work per your conversation with her?

  7. From the checklist, it seems you did not complete and submit form I-864. Did you submit form I-864?

what is this means?aside of sending 2013 w2 or irs tax transcript, do we need to fill up new I-864 form?'

my husband he send only his (2011-2013) 1040. please enlighten me on this thank you so much..

  8. We have our interview scheduled for May 21st. The operator told me I will need to bring updated I-864 for 2013 and my transcript. I filed as Head of household for 2013 because I am the head of household my husband did not live with me in 2013 and I am a single mother to my son. Is this going to be a issue at the interview?

Filing as head of household is not going to be an issue. If you were due a refund, you will be missing out on getting more money. When your husband arrives the US, be sure to file a 2013 tax amendment (form 1040X) to get more of your refund from the IRS.

  10. Do it yourself by reading the instructions on VJ. If you have any questions, you can always come back to visa journey and ask. Don't waste your money with these attorneys - they are all crooks. Paying $1800 for exactly what? This price tag just makes me mad. You are better off doing it yourself.

By the way I am available to offer my time for you free of charge if you have any doubt with the process. Good luck as you begin your immigration process.

  11. LoveMyTico, keep your hopes high. My case was actually approved on Sunday (March 02) - I received notification at 9 am ET. Today I received another notification at 9:10 am ET that the case has been shipped to the NVC.

This is to say that your case may be approved anytime and you probably won't get notified until the next day in the morning. From my two experiences, it seems the system updates every morning and that's when inputs notifications from previous days are sent out.
