  1. Sorry this happened to you.

I think the denial had to do with your divorce timeline. You began a romantic relationship (perhaps say fiance) while you were still married. Even though you filed for your fiance after your divorce, the fact that you were seeing this person while still married may call for attention. If I were the CO, I would ask myself if the fact that you began seeing your fiance was the cause of you heading to a divorce with your wife.

Hopefully for you USCIS revalidates your case once the consulate returns it. Otherwise, start thinking of marrying your fiancee and file for CR1.

    Sorry again

  2. Guys check out this link for government agencies that may be shut down after midnight tonight if the dysfunctional congress doesn't do anything to stop this madness: http://edition.cnn.com/interactive/2013/09/politics/government-shutdown-impact/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

It seems the Department of State which includes the NVC will be open.
The Department of Homeland Security which includes USCIS will be partially shut down

  3. I called USCIS a few min ago; first the Tier 1 didn't want to transfer me to a Tier 2. She was basically reading the information I can see for myself via USCIS case status online. After arguing with her for a few seconds, I insisted for her to give me her ID number once more and that I needed to talk to a Tier 2 because she wasn't helping me - she then relunctantly transfered me.

I was on hold for 26 min. Talked to a Tier 2 who told me he could see some notes on my file about congressional inquiries for my petition and was told that once congressional inquiries has been launched, they cannot provide additional information and that I would have to contact my congressman's office. The officer made it sound like my petition was not under normal process.

I just contacted my senator's office to rejected any response from NBC saying "6 months from today's date" and ask these specific questions when contacting NBC: Where my petition is? Has it been assigned to an adjudicator? If not when?

Hello jmack2743, I am an April filer.
Could you please tell us if you filed for K3 or CR1?
Was it approved from the national benefit center or was your petition at your local USCIS office?
Was your case expedited or normal processing?

Your answer would help some of us with pending cases.

    Thanks

    Hi Longtrip,
I filed a CR1 and it was approved at the national benefit center, I did not get it expedited however, I heard the normal time is now running between 6-12 months. I called this morning (24 Sept 13) and ask about a change in my status and was told it was being work on and then I got a email that same afternoon saying it was approved and on its way to the visa center. All I can tell you is keep calling, I called every 30 days for the last 5 months. (176 days of waiting) I hope this information helps.

  5. All, I have the draft letter below. Please FAX it to CBS and still CALL ALSO no later than Friday. If you could please report back so we know how many contacts CBS must have received from us.

If there is anything I missed or that you guys feel we need to include in the letter, then let us know or you can do it individually on the letter you will fax.

We need to be strong and not allow USCIS to control our lives by PAUSING it. We are simply descent Citizen wanting to be with our love ones.

Simply report here: CBS CONTACT STATUS:

    ===============================================================

    Here is the draft letter:

    CBS,

It came to our attention in a forum (visajourney.com) that the local CBS network in Philadelphia can help us with an investigation and broadcasting on how unfair the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services has been to US Citizens with a lengthy processing time of I-130 “petition for alien relative” and providing no information as to why petitioners have to wait beyond 5 months (USCIS processing goal) singly at the USCIS stage.

As a group we collectively agreed to contact CBS Philly. Your network will receive many contacts from members of this forum seeking your help.

The entire immigration process for US Citizen petitioning for their spouses from USCIS to National Visa Center to US Consulate abroad used to be normal (6 – 7 months) approximately; but now some of us have petitions that have been pending at the USCIS alone for over 7 months; meaning we are looking at a 14 months or beyond to reunite with our spouses. The wait is harmful on one’s spirit and we implore CBS attention to investigate this issue specifically at the USCIS National Benefits Center in Lee’s Summit Missouri; where petitions are just being piled up with no real action.

USCIS is quick to catch the $420 petition fee with a deplorable customer service providing inconsistent, inaccurate information upon customer’s request.

We refuse to just fold our arms, allowing this bureaucratic government agency put a hold on our lives. We just want to be able to live our lives with our spouses, carry on planned projects and simply enjoy the beauties life has to offer. Most of us are confused and have nowhere to turn, even US Senators and Congressmen are incapable of assisting us; leading us to wonder why did we even vote for them?

Our last hope rest with CBS to publicize this issue and to draw the bureaucratic folk’s attention in DC to do something about this unexplainable I-130 petition lengthy processing for US Citizen trying to reunite with their love ones.

    Your Sincerely,

    Your name

    Your number

  6. What if we all regroup (all those with pending I-130) at the NBC in Lee's Summit MO and have a mass protest demanding timey service from USCIS. This would draw media attention and those stupid politians to look into our demands. I am ready to do this if we can find committed members - a large group of at least 100 people.

We should not just fold our arms and let this government agency treat us seeking legal path for our spouses this way, when they can even track illigal immigrants down.
