aww andrea stop! you're making me    i tried to remember everything but i know i missed some parts. i forgot to mention the CO only pretended to flip through my "evidence" cos i was looking at him and it was obvious from his eyes that he wasnt really "looking" he flipped my binders from cover to cover then returned them to me. the only thing i am sure of that he checked was my name, birthday and the date my hubby's first marriage was terminated  cos he looked over the files once more :)

Congrats abbie! You've always been one of the nicest and helpful member in this site. Hope you come back and visit us from time to time

aww thank you  of course i will :)

When are you planning to fly home?

sadly i dont have a date yet. i still have to resign from my job  that's gonna take a lil while longer

Congratulations. My wife was also there the same time as you were and also got her CR-1 approved. Her interview was scheduled for 6:30 but it didn't actually happen until around 8:00. I asked her if she had seen you there and she said you looked familiar, so she might have been right next to you and didn't even know it. Her interviewer only looked at chat logs, emails, call logs, cards and letters, and Western Union receipts, and didn't even look at the pictures (she had a whole album and it wouldn't fit in the window, which surprised and kind of annoyed me considering how much money and work it took to make it) but trust me, I'm NOT complaining LOL. Overall, it sounds like the whole experience wasn't that bad and I told her not to worry so much even though she wouldn't believe me. Now it's just a matter of getting that plane ticket......

oh really? gosh some of the girls there looked familiar too but i was shy to ask everyone "hey are you from VJ?" ask her if she saw a fat girl in white blouse with 3 bags!! that was me! 1 large paperbag, 1 giant tote bag and my sling bag :)

Where in the US will you 2 be living?

hi david. we will be staying in reno, nevada :)

thanks for all the greetings everyone. you will get your pink slips too   believe in it and trust the Lord

  7. Ohmylord. I will JUST DIE if NVC slows down again! Seriously.

Peeps--when did you receive your DS3032/AOS? I mean, at what time during the day did the email come in?

MsS--Hope you feel better. I bet that case complete is coming today/tomorrow!

hi sachinky. when i gave them our email addresses they emailed us choice of agent and AOS the next day. but it's different for everyone. also check your spam blocker :)

Hello guys, I want to Thank you everybody for all the help on this journey without you guys we didnt finish this process. THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO ALL VJer's :dance::dance::dance:

I got my VISA TODAY. Just 2 working days after my interview done. THANK YOU LORD.

yay!!! just 2 days huh?? i hope i get mine tom :)

  8. thank you! :) i am happy too :) now i need to hunt for good ticket prices

Congratulations!! I wonder why in the Philippines you are seated while doing the interview.

In my experience, it was like you are depositing money in the bank and using a telephone while talking to the consul.

my mom asked me the same thing. cos when she and my bro applied for a tourist visa years ago she said they were standing up. but i dunno :) maybe that's in the non-immigrant section here?

  9. My visa interview was set at 830am. I arrived at the US embassy at around 630am with my mom and aunt. There was no line at the Immigrant Visa line so I was able to get in as soon as I got there. Lucky me! :) Then I went to the Immigrant Visa Unit and got my number from the lady at the counter. She took my appointment letter and asked if I don't need to go back to St. Luke's. I said no. I sat down and waited. I was observing the pre-screeners from Windows 17-20 and the guy on Window 19 was the only one using his microphone. I was sitting at the back near the CR but I could still hear his questions. So I was thinking I hope this guy doesn't call me. But what do you know, God has a sense of humor and HE called me! Oh well, so I went to him. He was a serious looking man and was all business. He was nice and not rude. He was addressing me in Tagalog and asked me the following questions:

    1.What's your name?

    2.When's your birthday?

    3.How old are you?

4.The petitioner is your husband right? Where and how did you meet?

5.How many times has he visited you?

    6.When was the last time?

7.How did he come to be in the US? (I told him he was born there)

    8.Is this your first marriage?

9.When did you get married? Where?

    10.Has he been married before?

    11.What does he do?

12.I see you worked for (bank's name), which branch? (I mentioned 3 branches)

13.Have you ever been outside of the country? (I told him Taiwan when I was 14 for a Girls Scout training)

14.How long were you in Taiwan?

Then he asked me for my NSO certified BC, my CEMAR and the proof of relationship. I pulled out my binders and he took both of them. He checked one of the binders and saw that I only had 2 remittances from my husband. He asked me if my husband sends me money. I told him only when it's needed. So he told me to sit and wait for my name to be called for finger scanning.

I waited a while for the finger scanning. Then I heard my name being called to go to Window 33. The guy behind the Window is a kind looking African American guy. When it was my turn he had a hard time looking for my file. I said “Sir, it's that one on top of the others.” He joked with me and said “How did you know?” But he was smiling. I had no problems with the scanning. I was told to sit down and wait again so I did.

Then after some more waiting, my number flashed and it's time for the final interview. I got called into Window 32. The CO there was a young caucasian man. He was friendly and nice. We greeted each other “Good Morning” and then he told me to raise my right hand and swear that everything I will say is true. To which I replied “Sir, do you want me to stand up while I swear?” He looked up to me and I realized he was surprised that I asked that question. He told me “It's okay to do it sitting down.” So swearing done, he flipped through my files and asked me the following questions:

    1.What's your name?

    2.When were you born?

    3.How did we meet?

4.When was the last time I saw my husband?

    5.Is this my first marriage?

    6.Has he been married before?

    7.What does he do?

8.Have I ever been outside the Philippines?

9.When was his first marriage terminated?

He then double-checked my hubby's divorce papers to see if my answer was correct. Good thing I read that entire thing when hubby sent it to me  Every once in a while during the interview he would type something in his computer. Then after checking the date on my hubby's divorce papers he told me “Well your papers seem to be in order. Your visa is approved. Welcome to the United States.” I said thank you and then he said welcome and told me to wait outside for my name to be called for further instructions (on the visa delivery). I said thank you again and he said you're welcome again

I sat and waited (again) and then heard my name to go to Window 37 where a Filipino guy issued me the pink slip we all have been wanting to get. It's a Visa Delivery Fee Payment  I thought it was something more fancy :) The guy told me to go fill up the form attached to the pink slip and then go to Air21 counter and pay my delivery fee. I paid 236 pesos for it. They said visa delivery is about 10 working days. That's long :( Bummer!!

That's my experience. Hope you all get your pink slips too!

  10. i ended up printing the pictures on a bond paper too. i printed about 40 pictures. i sort of did it digital scrapbook type with some captions too. but i am taking the album and the rest of the other pictures with me just in case. my interview is tomorrow. ugh! please pray for me guys :)

  11. yes St Lukes took my passport. they will be the one to forward it to the USEM along with our medical results.

and getting nervous is a natural reaction. i am nervous as heck!

duh! what was i thinking?? you asked for NBI clearance not passport DUH!!!!

  12. I did overkill... I printed sheets of pictures, and sent all our chats too from when we first met... about 1,000,000 words if I rememebr right. Printed all emails too, and copies of all hand written letters along with the envelopes and cancelled postage. Also page after page after page after page of telephone bills, with all the calls to the Philippines hi-lighted in yellow. The suitcase she hauled it all in was about 27 pounds, if i remember right.... hehe. Over 1/4 her body weight. She had more with her than anyone there... all in 3-ring binders where she could remove the pages to slip through the window. They hardly asked to see anything, but relied mostly on the questions. They got the esential documents at the pre-interview. The woman officer who interviewed her was very disarming and friendly. My wife felt at ease and happy in answering ehr questions, and the officer had a kind smile and appeared sincerely interested in her replies. All went extremely well that day....

That was one year ago. Now we are focused on her PregnancyJourney... hehe... 14 weeks down now, and how many to go? Due date is July 28.

    Brian in Tennessee

wow! ALL???  i am pretty big but 27 lbs is still heavy for me

thanks for sharing Brian. i am starting to calm down now. i keep praying for God to help me calm down. and also my friends and VJ friends are helping me calm down

    congratulations on the baby
