NVC is converting to a totally online system to speed up the process(eliminate mailing on their part). You will still need to send the packages back to them by snail mail. The visa fee (IV) is per person.
-
You are doing a CR-1 so NVC will be the one to check all your documents. When they said in the email to send the DS-230 they referred to the whole package (form and supporting documents). Yes you need originals as well as a photo copy set of all documents. As i suggested earlier make yourself a second set of photo copy to take with you to the interview. Make sure you include the receipt cover sheet that you can print from the website your husband paid the fee at.
Your originals will be returned to you at the interview.

Hey I read one forum and its says that NVC doesn't give u your original documents back, Is it true?? so is it safe to send them Originals or just send Color copy of the documents??
NVC will send the originals to the embassy to be returned at the interview, the photo copy set they will keep for their records.

What I am unclear on is:
[*]With the K3, she can enter/exit the US at will. Can she do the same with the K3?
Whoops!!! Typo. What I meant was is the CR-1 a multi-entry visa? (Goes to show how brain-damaged all these documents have made me.)
as far i know CR1 is for single entry within six months and than you get your green in few weeks when you enter to USA, woohoo.
the CR-1 is a single entry visa but when you enter you will be issued a conditional green card which you can travel on.

OK, now we're getting to the final leg, I have some questions.
First, I've heard that there is a separate fee for the actual visa, besides the ones we paid at the NVC stage. If this is true for CR-1, how much does it cost and how is it to be paid? We're in Thailand. I tried calling the USEM but they only referred us to one section after another, and I ended up with an AVR saying they won't entertain phone call inquiries. Only email with our case number in it. Our case hasn't been forwarded to the USEM yet so there's n use sending an inquiry that way. I would like to know from people here in (preferrably) Bagkok how they have paid for their visa if there is indeed another fee. And is it paid before or after the interview?
Next, the medical and shots. What if I have no record of my shots? Is it mandatory that we take them all again? How long is it going to take? Will I have to stay here for much longer? I hope not!
Please clarify. And good luck to all of us.
ao_cons, the visa fee is the package IV fee we paid at NVC for our CR-1, a K type visa pays that to the embassy or agent of the embassy. So no additional fee for your visa once the 400 is paid to NVC. the medical question, if you don't have a shot record, the doctor doing the medical will determine the shots you need. There is no additional fee for this in the Philippines over our medical fee of 213.00 but some embassy do charge for the vaccinations so you might want to call the embassy you are using to see if they charge extra for the shots.

i need some advice with regards to my cr1 petition.
when my hubby got an email that my visa was approved i thought we were done, but i was wrong..this was actually the start of the process....
so they sent my papers to nvc, they ask my hubby for the affidavit of support.he sent them in n paid $70.then i received a letter that asks me to choose an agent n i chose my hubby...
march 28 he received an email bout the iv fee bill.he payed it online n now we r still waiting for the receipt.
ysterday he got another email that says i need to send the ds 230 to nvc..my question is,,,is it just the part 1 of the ds forms that they need?or do i have to fill up both parts.ds230 parts 1 and 2?
pls help...based on the timelines that i read this is the last thing that they had to send nvc.and that after this nvc sends in the papers to their respective us embassies so i really wanna do this fast...pls help!
you need to fill out the DS-230 both parts and only sign part 1, Part 2 will be signed at the interview. send all supporting documents asked for with the package. Make sure you send 1 set of originals and 1 set photo copy also make a 2nd set of photo copy for you to bring with you to the interview. It is also suggested to write your NVC case number on each page of the package you send in case something gets separated. also put your name and case number on the back of the photos as well. Good luck.

We are finished with the medical but will be in Manila April1 to prepare for the interview. Good Luck in the medical and just relax and get good rest before it.
-
We just sent the NBI for the DS-230 but my wife didn't leave the Philippines at any time. But for the interview we have both NBI and PCC.
-
That's great news so your interview will be April3? same as my wife. we have 7 am CR-1 appointment hope to see you there and good luck.
-
he will need NBI and PCC both for the interview. If he lived in same city but different addresses then 1 PCC will be enough but if in different cities then he will need 1 from each city.
-
Forever you will need the CENOMAR showing you had no marriage in the Philippines before the US marriage. If you are in Iligan you can get it in 1 day if you go early to NSO and apply for it. Just send Mona a IM and she will explain how she got hers fast.
-
don't know about your embassy but most provide translators or will conduct in native language. In the the Philippines they ask what language you want to do the interview in English or Tagalog.
-
Chances are that as soon as the document is received by the embassy they will finish processing the visa. I believe congratz will be coming soon to you.

My 864 was made up of my pension and SS which the SS is the major part of it and had no problem getting my 864 accepted. So if you are eligible, why not apply and get it started it will take several months to finally get the SS approved so I wouldn't delay.

Is he the USC or the beneficiary? If he is the one applying for the visa then for sure take the military paperwork to the interview. If he is the USC it is not really needed but I am sending my DD214 with my wife to her interview just in case a question is aked about my military service. GO NAVY!
-
saying you need help is great but a specific question would be even better or are you asking us to complete the form for you? hehehh just kidding.
-
you can send it in your own envelope and use the address listed on the coversheet you printed.
-
First it helps us to answer you if we know what type visa was applied for. and past visistor visa denials won't necessarily be held against you if it was for not showing strong ties to your country. As far as the domestic violence charge it sounds like it was a misdemeanor so that shouldn't be a problem either. they do background checks on the petitioer from time to time but it is not normal for all. As long as no serious crimes chances are they will just review the case she had and that will be all to it. I wouldn't worry. If your application was just accepted then you have several months to wait for processing. I suggest you use this time to review all you can about your type visa on this site and become as informed as you can.Ask lots of questions.

You start counting the date of entry into the US. 90 Days before your 2 yrs is up is when you want to apply for AOS.
-
Ahhhh 5 days till the interview getting nervous now. Say a prayer for us!
-
yes my fiance have found a $914 one-way ticket in nwa site and we hope and pray we can still find same price in weeks from now since we dont want to make any travel plans yet til i have the visa in hand. Thanks for giving me all those sites!
By the way my fiance is from Hartselle Alabama, right up the hill and i think i will like it there, cozy and relaxed area anyway (as what i saw in the pictures he took to let me see his place) just 5 minute away from Decatur...
northern Alabama is beautiful country. Not extremely cold in the winter but it has it's moments hehe. There is a lot of things to do in that part also. I lived there for 3 yrs before coming to the Philippines and it was quiet and relaxing.
-
Yes the beneficiary can mail the DS230 to NVC DHL or FEDEX is the safest way and remember to put your case number on the top right corner of each page incase something gets separated at NVC they can at least get it back to your package. Also the instructions for DS230 calls for 1 set originals AND 1 set photo copies of all documents.
-
Well that's not an easy thing to answer there are so many things. If i had to pick just one it would be her good heart. God blesses certain people with a heart of gold that just electrifies anyone they come in contact with, that is the type of heart my wife has. She just opens it to whoever is needing a friend or just a hug. the type of person that makes you think wow God did good work with this one!

That's awesome Krissi we are so happy for you. Best of luck on the interview.

Once USCIS approves the petition (NOA-2) your case will be forwarded to NVC for a brief period, assign the NVC case number. This is normally a short period and NVC will forward the package to the embassy. At that point you will be sent a letter or email telling you to download package 3 from the embassy website one of the forms will be the AOS I-134 that your fiancee sent you and 156 & 157 forms which you will fill out.Once you have all the documents gathered you then set up your medical and Interview. You will receive also an instruction letter from the embassy telling you how to pay your fees and how to proceed from there. That's basically how i understand the K-1 process others will correct if process is slightly different to that.
