  1. Just got off the phone with the scheduler at the Embassy, they did give us an earlier interview and my wife leaves in the morning for Manila to do her medical and will have the interview on April 3rd. We could have had 18th 19th or 20th of this month had we already had her medical but they said she needs that first and it takes 10 days from that to do an interview so the 3rd was the earliest we could get. At least it is not end of April anymore. I relayed the info to my doctor in the states so he can schedule me for exam as soon as we get to the states which will be asap after visa in hand. We will be waiting on the 3rd at the embassy for the visa instead of them mailing it to us. I couldn't believe they had dates still open in March. Wish we would have had the medical completed already.

  2. The lady who helped us when we got out marriage license put my Canadian SIN in the SSN line. What a dummy.

Classic. It's so funny dating and now being engaged to a Canadian. I'm SO amazed at how self-centered and unaware some Americans are that things are different. So much is assumed at times! Sheesh! :bonk:

(LOL... I've been DYING to try to find a post where I could use the "bonk"!)

Last i heard Michigan does not require it but that was a few years back.

  3. OK seems the Embassy Manila does have a heart. I called them this morning as soon as they opened and they had received my fax and forwarded the request for the early interview to the scheduling unit already. They told me to call tomorrow morning to the 1-900-101-7878 and tell them how soon my wife can be in Manila to do her medical and interview to set the new date. So i guess Wednesday we will be going to Manila to do her Medical asap and then will stay there till the interview which hopefully can be done a week later. Pray for us to have this work out! And thanks all for being here for us. YOU ALL ROCK!!!

  4. Well with a 2 yr card she will need to adjust status in the states when she nears the 2 yrs there also for the SS card she can get it mailed to her if she selected on the DS-230 saying she wanted one. If not she can go to a SS office in the states and apply for one, even if she requested one on the 230 form it is a good idea to apply for one locally also because many have posted that they requested it on the form but never received it. The AOS is has a cost associated with it but I am not sure of the amount.

  6. We were in the same situation with our I-130 petition. We reached 7 months on our NOA-1 and still nothing from USCIS and tried contacting them to do a request for info which was a waste of time. I then contacted my congressman and told them it was outside the 6 moth window and his office contacted USCIS for us and that same afternoon we received an Email from USCIS with our NOA-2. So I would suggest doing the same contact your district Congressman and have them call USCIS to lite a fire there. Good Luck and hopefully you get the same response we did.

  7. You may want to contact CFO and see if the certificate has an expiration date on it. 2005 was a while ago they may want you to re-do the seminar. Just to be safe I would call.

  8. best to get some kind of official documents from the court stating those facts as you posted, make sure they are stamp/sealed by the agency issuing the statement. That way if it becomes an issue it is easily corrected and won't waste a lot of time for you. Preparation is the key to a smooth journey. Good Luck on your VJ

  9. If there is a question of profiling going on it is not because of any bias. It is due to the fact that USCIS along with processing visa petitions is also to safeguard US homeland from any possible threats. This is unfortunate but it is the result of the world we live in. Very few terror threats come from other areas of the world and the similarity of names in the data base will cause "red flags" to be generated due to that similarity. It is not intentional just happens. which in turn gives longer processing times to people in certain areas of the world.

  10. most congressmen won't do anything but an inquiry before it is past normal processing time so as long as it is not past the 6 month window very little can be achieved by involving them at this point. A better thing for you to be doing at this point is down load the package 3 documents you will need for the next step and concentrate on collecting documents etc. this will help pass the time waiting for USCIS to finish and give you a step up on the next stage.

  11. Update, I called the Manila Embassy emergency number this morning and spoke to a CO about our situation and she told me yes they do emergency interviews in certain cases and that it would depend on our doctor's document as to the need for it. So she gave me the fax number for the visa unit and I faxed a copy of the results along with a cover letter officially requesting an early interview. I have to call them at 7:30 am Monday to speak with the visa unit directly and hopefully i get someone with a compassionate streak. Wish us luck! I'll update after I get done with the call. Also faxed the results to my regular heart doctor in the states and hopefully when he reviews the data he can give us some positive news.

    Wow, you missed my point.

I get your point and I agree the data has changed, but that doesn't eliminate the fact that asking specific questions is how we all learned "the real deal" about the process. It is more constructive to ask questions one might have than to post that there is too much congratulatory posts going on. And as far as the Air21 cost the reason the exact cost is not been posted is because it varies depending on delivery location in the PI and that was posted several times I saw in the last couple weeks. And actually it was in the posts people have been making recently about interview experiences and medicals as well. We all feel the stress of this process and with my recent situation that came up I am very saddened that i have another 2 months to wait for my interview but i still get hope and joy from others successes.

  13. Hi all,

Well we are so close to the end of the road here and glad our case is at the Embassy and the interview date is set. So we should be happy but unfortunately life is life and we got a real dose of it today. My wife has her interview the end of April and was planning her medical the first of April. Today i had a routine checkup with a cardiologist here in the Philippines because i am here to be with my wife for her visa process. I had 2 heart attacks back in 2004 and have had no problems since then. all my checkups have been fine until today. I had an Echo gram done and it shows a clot in my left ventricle. The doctor here advised my wife and I that i should get back to the states as soon as I can for treatment (i feel good) but the doctor is basing that off this test and doesn't have access to my total file. So I will be contacting my doctor back in the states Monday for his opinion. But my question is what are the chances of getting her interview asap based off this? I will go back no matter what because that is not an option for me to chance it and stay till end of April. My wife of course wants to leave right away with me to be there to support me in the needed surgery (probably open heart). Is there a possibility we can get it early and who do i call or what do i do? I am an emotional wreck right now and the wife is in worse shape than me as you can imagine.

  15. hello vj members... Just wanna share this situation. My cousin was a US citizen. He live in US for over 20years. When my cousin had a vacation here in the Philippines he fall inlove with the girl he met here then on his second visit they got married here. My cousin start to collect all documents for his wife petition. The problem start to arise because my cousin had a accident before and they just put a brace on his back. Even its hard He is working now to support his family but without the knowledge of US government because if the government knew that he is working he might lost his pension. He cannot lost his pension too because sometimes he cannot work due to back pain. He cannot declare his income from his work So he didnt reach the income requirments for his petition. He has a tax refund but for sure its small because it's just came from his monthly pension. My question is.... Can he make my auntie as his Co-sponsor? My auntie has it's own family too but she reach the income guidlines. If he can make my auntie as a co-sponsor can my cousin allowed to make petition even he is only a pensioner? Another question too... Can we used and fill up the forms we download here then submit on uscis? Thankz. God's blessing always be with u.

according to what you said in the post why would he be filing a K-1 visa? If he married her already then it would be K-3 or CR-1. and in that situation a co- sponsor is allowed.

And if he does use a co-sponsor he would still fill out a I-864 as well as the co sponsor (I-864 or I-864a depending) Then what he was short in his available income would be made up by the co-sponsor.
