  1. still no news, what if our package was lost and didn't reach chicago lockbox??? :crying:

I received our NOA1 today. It has a receipt date of January 12, 2009. Now, the long wait begins.

that's great news, you sent your I-130 on january 5th and we've sent it on january 6th; but the problem is that you are in california center and we r in vermont center :crying: which means i may not hear from them until february; they are tooooooo sloooooooow

  2. Ooppps I think I posted on the wrong thread lol. Well I'll post on this one too. Me and my husband sent our petitions on jan 2 and we haven't received anything either. I was hoping we would get NOA1 before I leave but who knows If we'll get it before. How long does it usually take?

welcome ivy, it's hard to predict how long it will take, there are people who got the noa1 just few days after sending their petition and others who waited more than 1 month to get it, hope we will be lucky enough to get it this week or the week after

i think they are working on giving approvals on pending cases so they might be busy to work on new petitions

  3. hi to all who sent their I 130s... what envelope did you use? and what type of package sending service did you use at the USPS? please let me know so i can do the same...want the one that has the tracking number on it in case it gets lost? or one that can say it has been delivered and it is really with the USCIS so that they cant say they have not gotten it?

also...i think im going to paperclip the documents together so they will be in order when recieved or did u guys stapple?

my husband sent the package with no tacking number so we don't even know if uscis recieved our petition or no, we are waiting for the NOA1...

my husband stappled the papers but you can use paperclips if you want, both are accepted .....

  4. we should all keep in touch and keep updating each other on how things are panning out. Any one thought about taking the K 3 route as well?

yes let's keep in touch...... After analysing the timelines, we choose to take the cr-1 route, especially that we are in vermont center.... In VC both I-130 and I-129F are approved at the same day and we noticed that sending the I-129F can make things delayed, so better send I-130 only and save our energy for NVC, we still can't understand this step very well so we are trying to study it better to finish it quickly...

i know it's too early for that, that we have to wait at least 7 months to get the NOA2 but we prefer to be well prepared, who knows maybe we can get a fast approval, let's say in 2 months!!!!!!! I'M DREAMING!!!!!!!
