  1. Purchase round trip tickets that your parents intend to stay, and if they are given 6 months and you want them to stay around for over a little of 3 months you can call up the airline to have the date (flight back) changed. Some airlines charge you but some gives you options as to which date is free of charge.

*based on my experience as I extended my stay (which was supposed to be only 1.5 months and when I was allowed 6, I stayed til it was around 4 months) when I first went there as for me spending time with family is never enough. :) The airline I got was Korean Airlines, free of charge for changing the dates.

Thank you very much for the response, it really help. I think that what I would, get round trip tickets for 3 months. Again, thank you and I appreciated much ?
  2. On a visitor visa they must have a round trip ticket. Why would you buy a ticket before them getting a ticket or knowing how long it will be. Just wait until the interview is over then act accordingly.

Answer for that; the U.S. embassy approved their visa already, but I'n not sure yet how long my parents would stay, either 3 or 6 months. If I buy round trip for 6 months, what if the immigration just give them 3 months of stay? That's way I confuse either buy round trip ticket or one way.

Thank you for your response, I really appreciated!

Surely you would wait to secure the b2 visa before buying the ticket?

If they already have the visa then hatvdid they answer when asked 'when are you planning to visit the US and for how long?'

They answered was about 3 months

  3. I'm about ready to buy flight tickets for my parents to visit me in the US, but I have some concerns. I would like to buy them round trip tickets, but I don't know yet how long my parents would get the length of stay in the US. Also, if I buy one way tickets, I'm worry the the officer in the port of entry (airport) won't let them in since they don't have returning tickets yet. My question is, which one should I go with; round trip or one way tickets?

If any of you ever have experience like this, please do share.

I'm looking forward to some responses here, and appreciate it a lot for your time to help me out!

    Thank You!

  4. Just want to share my experience here from interview today in San Antonio. I had 10:00 am interview, thank god we (my husband and I) didn't have to drive for few hours. We got to the USCIS office 9:30, IO called me around 10:45. It was really easy, she didn't ask me for any documents but GC. She went through all the documents with me, she asked me to swore for the information that I gave to them is true. And than she give me the test; for the read and write test, she asked me to read 3 sentences, and than asked me to write 2 sentences that she dictated. For the civic test, She just asked 6 questions, because I got them right. Here the questions that she asked;

    1. What is one right or freedom from the first amendment?

    2. What are two rights in the declaration of independence?

    3. Who is in charge of the executive branch?

    4. If the President can no longer serve, who becomes president?

    5. What are two ways that Americans can participate in their democracy?

    6. Why does the flag have 50 stars?

Good news is I passed the interview, and waiting for the oath ceremony letter in the mail now. I hope will be arrive soon. Good luck for anyone here that will have interview.

  5. The word "your" on the N-400 refers to the person applying for naturalization (see the grey heading for Part 1). When it asks for your children, it's asking for the children for whom you, the person applying for naturalization, are a parent. Your spouse's children don't count if they are not your children, too.

The N-400 instructions says that stepsons/stepdaughters should be included.

I didn't include my step daughters.

  6. we also did not receive a Biometrics appointment letter yet for our daughter. we did receive an extension letter. I've seen this question posted on VJ recently, about biometrics with ROC for children under age 14. I haven't been able to find out anything on the USCIS website. my wife's Biometric apt is Sept 11. all I know now is not to take my daughter out of school if she doesn't have a Bio Apt.

anyone have a clear cut answer if Biometric Apt. is done for children under age 14?

My son under 14, and he had a biometric (they took his picture, and just index finger for fingerprint).
