Those of us stuck here are K1 filers - our checklists and other requests for documentation will come directly from the embassy, I think we all had letters from NVC saying they had received our petitions and would be forwarding them to the embassy within a week, but then they never did!
They have sent us no further letters, our knowledge of being in AP is from ringing the NVC helpline or e-mailing them to ask about progress on our case.
I have no idea what the process is for K3 and how our stuckness compares to people waiting on K3 petitions, sorry.

Welcome to the new folks, sorry that you are stuck in AP to.
I rang today but we are still there, the operator I spoke to seemed surprised we were - she said the K1 visas don't normally stay in the facility very long and to call back at the end of the week. I wonder what they will tell me then

Hi there Badgerella and Luvhasdnoborders, welcome to the waiting room
I was also told the first time I rang that our papers would be sent to the embassy any time now, wasn't till a week later that they admitted they were in AP and lat Monday they admitted that 2-4 weeks was not accurate and the process did not have a defined timeframe
I am still hopeful that next week will see the end of the holiday period slow down that nearly all big organisations suffer and that all of us here see our papers heading to the embassy

Happy New Year all:) Here's hoping for good news soon for everyone

I hadn't seen the screaming smiley face emoticon before sums up how I feel, really made me laugh
It is great to have company while we're stuck
I just wanted to add, for those of you who are reading, that some of here are K-1 and some are K-3 and others and the checks are different for all. K-1's don't have the DS-230 and that is checked again at the NVC level from what I was reading, so different checks and times for different problems. Maybe??? Good luck??Any comments to this theory ?I agree seems the K3 and others generally spend longer at NVC than the K1 petitions, the majority of which zip through in a few days

Hopefully they will process yours quickly now they have the missing sheet, Gogo.
Fingers crossed for you and everyone who is stuck here without knowing why there is a hold up.

I've come to join you all, NVC have had our case since 4th December, they told me on Monday that we are in AP - though they didn't give a date when our case went to AP
Happy Christmas to you all and here's hoping the New Year brings us better fortune with the visa process:)
