  1. Congrats on "GETTIN' OUT"..........Natan and Barenaked!!!!!

I called today.....we are still in there.......but, Monday is the six week mark for us.........so, you all have given me hope that I can call next Friday and have good news.......I make an oath right now not to call until then!!!!!

Also, for those of you who have gotten out before, how long did it take before NVC sent the letter to your home stating that your case was on the way to the embassy? Cuz, you know they always tell you when you call, that they will notify you in writing once your case leaves NVC......have you found this to be true?

Haven't received a letter yet (12 days later) I don't think, but then that might have slipped my fiance's mind entirely to mention as I already know its out!

*fingers crossed* that you get good news soon

  2. We've been at NVC since Nov 18, we just found out yesterday we are in AP or administrative processing (backround check). :o Is anyone alse in this situation, maybe we can keep track together.

    Thanks~

Write now we are in the same situation. It left nvc however she has not receive anything from the embassy. I would to know how long does it take for to receive this package. We started gathering all the things she need. I wonder after we got every thing can we call the embassy asking for an appointment or we still have to wait?

Mine left NVC on the 12th January and as of today had still not been received by the embassy according to DoS, I've been checking a lot of time lines and it can often take a couple of weeks to show up at the embassy and then up to another couple of weeks for them to get the paperwork out to you. Some embassies are more receptive to early contact than others so you might want to check your regional forum to see what experiences people have had.

  3. Hey cdneh...

Im sorry i have to inform you that i wasnt able to beat your record...you are still on top...but hey cdneh, i tried...it just didnt work...

Today i called NVC and a nice lady there announced me that i got out of NVC and hopefully they will send my package to Romania on monday...Then i called again just to be sure and the second lady told me that im under AP and then i asked her to check again since this second call was just for getting the confirmation of the first call. Then she said, oo yeah, but we will not be able to send it today... Still a good news...

Wow all these weeks seemed long, but it was good having all of you encouraging each other...

So, cdneh... i stopped at 6 weeks and 5 days...

    blessings,

    Nate

It is a bit of a horrible record...and I wouldn't want anybody to be unfortunate enough to better it

I'll still check back...I want to see all of us get on with it

    Congratulations!

  4. hi everyone i called the NVC today and they said that out petition left ther yesterday. so its on its way to Australia (finally yaaaa) i hope everyone else will have the same good news soon too!!!!

one step closer to being with my fiance...im sooooooo excited!!!!!! woohooooo lets hope the rest of it goes smoothly and quick. im tired of going to bed alone!!!!

    Great news - Congratulations!

  5. Ok..I sure hope this works...I'm so computer illiterate with some things!!

    weddingdress5tu5.th.jpg

Gracious it took me a while to figure that out!! I probably won't remember how now! LOL

I'm going with the one on the left, but the sleeves will be a little shorter, and I won't have it cut as low..( I'm just funny that way)...but I just love it!!

Very pretty dress and lavender is a wonderful colour.

  6. It could come anytime. I think the 6 weeks is an average, if you look at other people here who were in AP and are now out. It could be more, it could be less, and there isn't any way of knowing.

    I was 7 weeks and 2 days.

The day has COME !!! We were released from AP at NVC today before noontime EST. They told me it will go out in todays DHL package to Kiev, so now the countdown is to see how many days before the Embassy gets it in the computer and we can finally make an appointment for February. I know some people said they called in 3 days and got appt, , others said 10 days. I can name 3 people who waited under a week, so lets hope for the best.... who who knows. i will call every day and use up a few pin cards, if I can be done with this process ASAP. Hopefully everyone else who went into AP with us on Dec 9th, will get released soon. Good luck and thanks for the support every day.

    Woohoo, congratulations!

  7. I have been trying to collect together all the documents on the package 3 checklist but am having real problems getting hold of a certified copy of my certifcate from my former marriage as I was married in St Lucia. The court kept the original I had when I was divorced and I only have a photocopy. I have the certified copy of my divorce decree, does anyone know if I need the marriage certificate as well for the interview?

Could the court issue a court certified copy if they hold the original marriage certificate?

Thanks for the suggestion:) I had not thought of that so I rang the court. They cannot issue a court certified copy only a photocopy, however the person I spoke to said that if I request it in my letter they will provide a covering note to that effect. Hopefully thephotocopy and the covering note together will suffice for a plan B if the certificate does not arrive from St Lucia.

  8. I know I took my former marriage certificate to the interview (just in case) - In agree with previous poster - for a woman I think it simply covers the name changes - I would take it just in case - if you dont need it all fine and well but if for some reason you got asked for it and you didnt have it you would be kicking yourself .... better to be safe than sorry. I cant remember if I was asked for it but I know I took it.

    Good Luck

thanks - did you obtain a certified copy or just take an ordinary copy?

  10. oh ok never thought of that. The way my luck goes that would probably happen to me since it took me almost 7 months to get my NOA2. That is what ill do I will wait to plan everything once i goes to the embassy. thank you. How will I know will they send me an email or a letter that it left the nvc and on its way to the embassy.

The NVC ususally sends a letter when they recieve it to say it will be sent out in the next week, that will have your LND case number on it - though I think when you call you can also use your USCIS ref number, if you haven't had that letter yet.

The number for NVC is 603-334-0700 press 1 and 5 to get a live operater, you'll need to give case number/USCIS ref number and beneficiarys & petitioners dob and they usually ask you to confirm a phone number.

You can then ask if your case has been forwarded to the embassy yet. Either the petitioner or the beneficiary can call.

  11. Does anyone know really how long it will take from your NOA2 until your interview. Im trying to plan a march 21 wedding or at least the second week in April. I got an email on jan 14 saying I was approved. But since there is no mail tomorrow ill have to see if the letter comes tuesday. This way I can let my finacee know what time frame he is looking at to go to london he is about 5 hours away.

We planned for 3 months from our NoA2 but unfortunately didn't factor in almost a 6 week wait at NVC( a rare occurrence) so I reccomend not starting planning your dates untill you know it has left NVC for the embassy and then you won't have to deal with the dissapointment of realising you'll not make your planned date.

  12. We had two letters from NVC, both identical. The first was recieved on the 12th, and the second on the 16th. Both of them said that our case would be forwarded onto the appropriate foreign embassy 'within a week'. Has anybody who got stuck in AP had this letter, or do you get it at the end of the processing?

Just want to know if we're 'safe' from being stuck at NVC yet.

Sadly I think most of us who are or have been stuck in AP all received this letter. The only way to tell if you are stuck is to ring the helpline and ask if your case has been forwarded to the embassy yet.

Hi guys, youre pretty quiet today... I hope everyone is doing well.... My situation these days seem to be that the Embassy is taking longer than usual to allow you to set up an interview and sending the packets out even though theyve had our file for 12 days now. They've told several people that they are backlogged. Another wait, but at least we are almost there...

Sorry you haven't had anything from the embassy yet Sweetjuly - hopefully its just a temporary post holiday back log and they'll pick up again soon

  13. Wasn't our case.

Unless the person I talked to today couldn't understand at all what I was asking or saying. Why? Because they basically speak no English. Heh.

Still AP, said the mysterious foreigner.

aww I am so sorry - the not knowing what they are doing with it is so hard. I'm hoping you get good news soon.
