If nothing else everyone has one thing in common, waiting to bring someone to OUR country and marry them as quickly as possible. As VJ is a place to share your emotions, it is a place to share opinions as well. We all wished the system moved quicker. It would probably be very interesting to see how fast this process was pre Sept. 11th 2001, as sometime after that all of our countries security systems changed. It is easy to be angry at waiting but out of all of the countries represented here, I am only guessing, none have the volume of people wanting to come to their countries as we do. I love Colombia, but there are a couple of reasons I wouldn't want to marry there, live there and so on, we all have our reasons we chose this path as opposed to being married in their country, and living in their country, which I gather would be much quicker(?). I am thankful for our system but from the outside looking in it appears it could be managed better that is for sure. I know the feeling of standing at the airport in Colombia, a foreign country to me, waiting in line, saying goodbye and having my fiance say don't cry, the only time to cry is if you were never going to see me again. I have visited and been through that 5 times since mid August 2006. The thing that amazes me the most is when you visit the USCIS web site, and it shows their processing dates, and all of the different types of visas and sub categories under those types, it is mindblowing. Emotionally, this is a long terrble wait and a real rollercoaster. To step aside from emotions, it is a major feat to accomplish the never ending task of processing and maintaining security. My point is, emotional flare ups are already happening here basically one month post NOA1, it is only going to get worse as we wait longer. Everyone must respect the fact the everyone handles this stress differently. Respect

called my bank and still not cashed yet...
No I went to my online banking and saw it posted after midnight last night. So I called my bank and ask them for the 3 letters and 10 digits. I went and registered it online with the link a couple of posts before and it showed me they actually are counting from August 7th. I know they received both of our packages within a day of each other. So I wanted to tell you....
-
My check was cashed so they must be getting near the end of Julyer's my package was received on the 22nd. I guess I will have to call the bank or have them make me copy today!!!

dgk3188 my check was cashed yesterday........keep on the lookout you must be next. I am going to have to call my bank to get the info from the back or have them make me a copy.

Our cheque has been cashed on August 6. At least something after 2 weeks...
We already have the case number, and now waiting for NOA1 hard copy.
For other July filers, yours will be coming real soon. Good luck!
Great they received my package on the 22nd, so it feels like we might be getting closer to a check cashing.....I am hoping we are close. Congrats!!!!

Well slowly but surely getting closer.........Sandman sent his package on the 12th.....I was 9 days after him. Woohoo I think once the check gets cashed I will feel more that there is at least a process
-
Congrats to all who have gotten underway!! I sent mine on the 21st and it was signed for on the 22nd of July so I have a ways to go yet I am sure. Our relationship is at 2 years and 2 months, she is a very patient lady, but now is when the clock will really seem to move slow.

Very Happy for you and wish you a Happy Life Together

Thank you all for the overwhelming response...I think I will send 1

The company that I am using to assist in preparing the K1 stated in their list of things I would need 4 passport photos....I can find nothing but their list saying this. Can anyone think of a reason I would need 4??? Does it vary for Colombia possibly?

Sorry for the repeat....never should type on forums before morning coffee
