  1. As far as bank statements, I received a letter from my bank stating that I had an active account for "x" number of years and had deposited "X" amount in the past year and had "x" amount as a current balance. The current balance is not as important as the amount deposited in the past year. I also took bank statements..I was paranoid that if the person on the other side of the window had a bad night the night before my interview they may ask for something "not required'.

  2. Hello Everyone!

Does anyone can help me. Is there a way I could extend my K1 visa, it will expire on the 19th of May.

My fiance was not ready for marriage. He wanted me to extend. Is there a way?

    thank you in advance

First, please fill in your timeline :)

Second, you can't extend the 90 days once you are in the US (it sounds like you are in the US, but I'm not sure). One of the reasons its 90 days (rather than a shorter period) is to give you time to live together and make sure marriage is still what you want (its hard to judge these things in a long distance relationship). Sometimes it takes being together in a more normal life setting to realize one does or does not want to marry.

If your fiance is not ready to marry, then you need to return before the 90 days, or you risk having problems with possible future travel or immigration to the US.

Hope things work out one way or the other.

    Ed,

Once again I concur.............you keep beating me to these answers

  3. I'm a little late. Things have been crazy over here but CONGRATS MOHAMMED!!! almost there!

I bet things have been crazy. Friday will be here before you know it and you will be with your man! So excited for you that he will finally be here.

:D hehehehe we're both really excited. i'm running around crazy over here getting things done. he's wrapping up his life in France. we are both soooo happy!

oh - HAPPY BELATED MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS ON THIS THREAD!!

I was busy with Mother's Day stuff over the weekend too. Annnd with IKEA. Booo IKEA. They put me through so much this weekend. For those of you on thefacebook, the entire mess of a story is on my fb page.

Hope you have a great reunion

  4. I don't know anything about how in depth about your relationship is, but if you have any time together I think you will be surprised how much you actually know about each other. Use the sample questions as a guidleline and take the questions others have had at the interview and go over them together....really just make sur eyou are on the same page.

  5. The chances are ZERO. And even if the make the mistake of stamping it, it is of no value to a K-1. Temporary work authorization for K-1 visas is no longer valid for work. The requirements of the I-9 form used by all employers changed in February and began enforcement in April. A K-1 can no longer work without an EAD or Green Card. An EAD applied for and approved prior to marriage and AOS will expire with the I-94 and is sigularly useless. For your $340 you will revice and EAD maybe a week or two before it expires.

Enter the US, get your SSN, get married, file for EAD and AOS (grreen card)...then go to work.

    I concur

  6. Chill out man. Withdraw your AOS if that will validate your manhood and move on. Let the woman move on and you should to.

    I disagree with you.

If he doesn't withdraw his support, she will have legal status in the US. Basically, she would have married for immigration. She wanted out of her life in the Philippines and married an American, then she left him once she got here.

Its ok to leave him, but she needs to return to her home country, If she doesn't return, then she is showing that being in the US was her main concern, in which case she has basically #######'d her way into this country.

Sorry that sounds harsh, but I am tired of all the third world women just trying to come to the US for a better life. People like the women this post is about is why the K visa process has gotten so scrutinized, forcing us all to wait longer.

I couldn't have said it better...
