APPROVED!!!
NOA2 - 10/3/08
OMG!! I am so happy for you and hopefully the rest of us won't be far behind.
-
I haven't heard anything as of yet either, but I just read, " Does a fast NOA2 approval mean a slow NVC receipt? " and this person recieved their Noa2 in 21 days. It was filed late August and already got a Noa2.
Maybe the July filers will be lucky as well and receive good news as it's now October. Good luck to us all.

it seems like there are so many members on the visa journey have the same situation
we have never used phone calls for communicate we just used yahoo voice all the time so i don't know if that ok or not ( we have some webcam pictures when we were talking throw yahoo...
i met my fiancee when she was still married to a guy from Egypt and she was having hard time to get him divorce her ( she married him in dec of 2005 and we met online in feb 2006 and we met the first time in aug of 2006 and then she got divorced in nov of 2006 and then we met another time in 2007 ......we tried to get married as so much people here on the visa journey from egy but we couldn't cause of that prob between the usa embassy and the egy government so i think we are in the usa embassy system that we tried to get married ........
another thing maybe she will not come to see me again and we will file for the visa soon so maybe it will be more than 2 years we didn't met at the interview date???i wonder if that ok or not
** As for the attempt to marry in Egypt.. we tried to as well and couldn't for the same reason. Later, we did get the approval from the U.S. Embassy to marry, but we never did as I changed my mind and decided to marry in the U.S. I want my daughter to be a part of the wedding and she can't travel to Egypt due to health reasons. But, I do still have the original paper of approval from the U.S. Embassy to show them we didn't get married, is they should ask.
When she applies for the I-129f for you.. you both must have MET at least once in person within the last 2 years before she files. If she filed today 9/17/08, between 9/17/06 and 9/17/08, you must have been together in person at least once. How do you prove this? She would have her Itinerary from her trip, she would have her ticket stubs from her flight, she would/could have hotel receipts, a couple pictures of both of you together, receipts from shopping she did while in Egypt.
At this point all they are worried about is if you two have actually been together at least once in the 2 years before she filed.
In my case, since we met on an online game and used it's chat sytem to communicate.. I don't know how to prove we knew each other prior to 1/08, which was my first visit to see him. Since 1/08, I have my Itineraries, ticket stubs, pics, and receipts from shopping for every visit I have made. Which at the moment, I am now in Cairo with him, so it would be 4 trips to date and I have proof of all those trips. I also have a few phone calls, chats from Skype, copies of call log from Skype, web cam pics of us talking and some with my daughter in them too.
If she doesn't have the ticket stubs and Itineraries from her flight, from at least one trip to Egypt to visit you within 2 years before she files, she will have to make another trip before she can file for you.
Also, from this point on make sure to make copies of your chats, web cam pics of you talking n never wear the same thing in each picture so they know they are from different times. Maybe even have her send you a card through the mail.. although, Mohammed, has yet to receive one letter/card i've sent him.

I haven't been around for awhile, but it seems to me that Cairo is known for it's hellish long waits after the interview (aka AP or AR), but there have been very few denials. And more recently it seems like the long waits have gotten quite a bit shorter.
We didn't submit any phone bills at all. Did you save any emails? I printed off screen shots of my inbox from various points in our relationship.
Hopefully some people with more recent Cairo experience can chime in.
** We have never emailed each other what was the point when we spent hours together on a game chatting constantly. I believe I have a few calls from 2/08 until to date, copies of Skype chats, pics of us during my visits etc. I have NO proof what so ever of us prior to 1/08. It was all done on the games ingame chat and there is No way to copy anything as thats not an option.
-
I was reading another post concerning denials and concerns of others. Posted was a list of reasons one might be denied and a member from, Egypt said, Cairo was the Embassy from hell. Cairo is where our petition will go through. I have a few concerns on 3 of the reasons one might be denied.
6. Petitioner submits phone records that show he uses a residential phone number that is listed in the name of another person.
** We have never used a phone to communicate as we met on" World of Warcraft", an online game and we use its ingame chat system to talk as well as Skype. I have used my parents phone a few times to call him when i'm home and not in Egypt. But, I live at the same address as my parents. This is clearly noted on my Passport n Drivers Licenses. Will it be a concern if I submit the few phone records I have and the phone in my dads name?
7. US divorce followed very quickly by an engagement to foreign beneficiary is often a red flag for consular officers.
** I met my fiance on 4/07 on the game and were friends. My husband left me on 6/07, our marriage was over before that for many years. My ex and I did not get our divorce final until 7/14/07. On 7/24/07, my fiance asked me to marry him. I was divorced as he said it wouldn't be proper to ask me unless we were divorced. Is this a concern I should have since I was divorced and asked to marry so soon?
8. There is little or no documentary evidence of the relationship prior to the actual engagement.
** I don't know about this one.. As I said, we talked on the games ingame chat system and through Skype, but I have always erased my Skype chats as when my ex comes to visit with my daughter... and i'm in Egypt, he uses my computer and I dont want him to read private talk between my finace and I.
I didn't file until 7/08 and I have proof of many trips to Egypt, some phone bills, chats from Skype, web cam pics of us n my daughter talking etc.. Once I filed I have been careful to keep proof of our relationship. If they were to ask for anything prior to Jan,08 my first trip to Egypt. I couldnt provide them with anything. I never thought i'd need proof of anything as I never thought of a visa.. didn't know anything about a visa at all.
If you have any advice or thoughts i'd like to hear them as i'm getting worried and might be for no reason.

Not sure where to post this, but I need help. I have sent letters to my fiance and my family has sent them to me while I was visiting him. We have not recieved ONE letter or card. I know our address, but can someone who mails to their fiance in, Egypt, tell me exactly how to write it? Apartment is in Maadi, which is outside Cairo.
Would I write: Egypt, Cairo, Maadi or ? and is that written above our names or below our address like in the states? I'd appreciate any help as I know others get their mail and I can't see my family paying $80.00 to send Fedex like I had to pay to send my I-129f to my mom.
I'm trying to make labels for her so maybe we'll get our mail.
Typically we write both.
Example:
Mohammed XXXX
9 "Whatever" Street
2nd Floor (if one)
Maadi, Cairo
EGYPT XXXXX (zip code)
Hope that helps! Good luck!
Thnak you for your response I will give that a try and see what happens.

My Fiance lives in, Egypt and I was wondering for a I-129f, what forms will be sent to him to fill out and return or bring along with him to the interview? Is there a place online to get these forms, so I may copy them, and look over exactly what must be done so I can start preparing to help him? I'd like to practice to make sure they are filled out correctly and gather things ahead of time.

I had another touch yesterday, 8/18. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad since the last touch was 8/15. Seems like i'm getting touched alot.
I've seen lots of people around the forum with touches a week or two after NOA1. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.
Looks like your timeline needs updated -- it helps everyone. You can add your touches in the Comments section.
O.K. where exactly do I update, because i've updated my signature and VisaJourney Member Timeline is correct. I'm missing something I guess, I didn't realize I needed to fill in. I went to comments in my controls, but didn't see what you were talking about.
Of coarse, i'm preparing now to leave my Fiance and not in the best of moods.
So, i'm not understanding where you want me to update. Ty for your help.

I'm ashamed of so many of my peers who misuse the word "hate" (and for that matter the word "attack") instead of more accurate and descriptive terms. It seems anybody who has a different opinion on some subjects is labeled a hater. Is it not possible to disagree with legalizing gay marriage for reasons other than hate? I sure hope so because I disagree with it and don't hate anybody on the other side of the argument. Do the people on the other side of the argument get labeled straight haters or straightphobics?
Can I root for the Red Sox without being labeled a Yankee hater?
Let's tone down the rhetoric, please. Ok?
I agree with the above. I personally don't agree with legalizing gay marriages, but I can promise you this.. I don't HATE anyone. I am intitled to my own opinions and they won't be the same as the other 5 people sitting in the same room I am. I personally don't care what anyone else does, but I do not/will not accept that in my family. But, that is my own business and not anyone elses what I will accept or not accept.
I also don't think this forum is the place for some things I see brought up here. They have NOTHING to do at all with those of us trying to find help/support for what we're going through. I know some are posted to get heated debates started and that's a shame. This whole process is scary and some of us will not be the lucky ones and will have to tell our loved ones good bye. Why not put all our strength into helping each other cope with this long process, and support each other without bringing up issues that have nothing to do with what this forum is about?

O.K. My daughter just called me and I received the NOA1 hard copy today. I went online and signed up for emails to be sent to me concerning my case and it shows I received a touch on 8/6/08. Now time to plant my feet firmly and get ready for the long, hard wait.

YAY!!!! My mom called for me today and she said, the check was cashed on 8/5. She is going to town later and get a copy of the back so we get the numbers off of it. Vermont is moving along it seems and I bet the rest of you guys are right behind those of us that has had our checks cashed.
-
Our check has been cashed and we have case number now
YAY!!!
Grats!!!! I'm so happy for you, but I still haven't seen anything. I'm still in Egypt, but my mom called my bank few days ago and still nothing. Maybe in a few days it'll get cashed.
Anyway, i'm happy for the both of you.

Thanks to all you guys that have posted. I sent mine off on 7/10 and they received it 7/14. I haven't seen anything yet from them, but someone who filed on 7/7 I think has gotten a NOA1. So, maybe they're getting to them now. It's August now, maybe they'll get to moving with all those packets. The longer something lays around the longer it's able to get lost.
-
I am so happy for all those who filed in July, that has recieved their NOA1, but i'd like to start a post for us who filed a K-1 in July and their service center is, Vermont. If one has already been started excuse this post. I think, for those who filed a K1 in July and at Vermont.. it'd be so mush easier to track whats going on with our own thread. I keep reading how someone got their NOA1 and I get excited then I see it's for another service center.
So, if it's fine with July, K1/Vermont filers.. lets start posting here to make it much easier for us to track Vermonts progress.

I'm ahead of myself here, as it's no where near time for me to send the I-134 to my fiance, but I have a question i've not been able to find an answer to on the forums yet.
My question concerns the W-2 forms we must submit. I have not worked in many years as I was a SAHM. My exhusband was the only one working and all my past w-2's are based on his income not mine. For 2007, I do have my own w-2, as I filed on my own as I sold a home and had to pay taxes. In previous years, we filed together as we were married, but the income was his and has nothing to do with if I can support my fiance or not.
I have a co-sponsor, so i'm not worried about meeting those requirements. Here is my question:
I will send a copy of my 2007 taxes as I filed alone, but what about for 2006/2005? I flied jointly with my exhusband, but the money earned was his income not mine. Would I still send a copy of 2006/2005 as well even if the income wasnt made by me?
Also, if I don't send a copy of 06/05 should I explain that the income earned was my exhusband not mine?

Well, i'm not getting my hopes up by what others have accomplished. I will just tell myself, it'll take a year or more for the whole process before he gets his visa. If I didn't make mistakes on the I-129f or they don't find something else to cause delay.. then maybe i'll be lucky as well and things go fast and smoothly. Although i'm not thinking that way at all.
Considering how long things take it's best to file as soon as possible to get the ball a rollin. As far as where ur fiance is from.. I don't care where they are from.. if they have NO back ground to be concerned of, then everyone should be processed the same. I mean they all go through the same security checks I hope. A bad peep can be from any country and all should go through the same process.
I just find it hard to think some filed in 1996 and still nothing.
Maybe things will improve with the system and approvals will be speedy.

I read a lot on the forums and i'm really suprised some i've coming across that have had their K-1 approved in 3 or 4 months. The few I looked at were all filed at Vermont and in 3 or 4 months their Fiance was in the states. They also didn't have a RFE and although what I read is great news for those that were processed this quickly. I'm not getting my hopes up at all, i'm accepting that mine will take a very long time. I am doing this so I won't get very dissappointed as the months go by.
I've also seen many that have started this process years ago and still nothing. I just don't understand how some filed back in 1996, if this is correct, and still not approved or even an interview. I wonder if maybe some have forgotten to fill in their timeline, as this just doesn't seem right.
I've been thinking how could it take that long, unless maybe it's the country the fiance/spouse is from, causing the delay. No matter, I wish us all a speedy approval time.
And for those that did get approved so fast.. be very thankful.

Well, my mom sent it of for me and she used FedEx and it was sent on the 10th and to be delivered on the 14th. I tracked it and it sat in Vermont for 2 days.
She payed for it to get there in 2 days, but when I started tracking it, it said, to be delivered in 4 days.
I won't use the USPS for delivery of any of this process i'm going through. The mail in Egypt is NOT like it is in the U.S. and I have a letter sent in Jan. and I havent seen it yet. To ship from Egypt to the U.S. weighing a half pound cost me $80.00. Can't go that route either too much.
-
Well, after checking constantly everyday, my I-129f was received by A. Stanley on 7/14.
Now I guess my real worrying starts as i'm so nevous. I'm just happy to know they did receive it and maybe i'll hear something soon.

** Also, how do I put my timeline in my signature like I see most of you have? Do I just write it in or is there a program you are using?

Mohammed and I met, in April 2007, on World of Warcraft. I made a guild and he joined it and was a quite person for a while and that made me wonder about him. I started talking with him, found out he was Egypt, and was unsure of his english, so he never said much in the guild chat.
I myself, couldn't believe, I could have so much fun and get to know someone through a computer like I had. I was taught that bad men prey on young girls and women on the internet.
The news channel taught me and my family that. Even till today when anyone hears we met online.. I have to stand and listen to how dangerous he could be and so forth.
I think people forget there are men preying on girls/women 24/7 in the town they live in as well. I always answer, "how do you know that a person that you meet in a party, at work, by a friend/family, is not a psycho or something?" How many women marry these men and later find out they are dangerous? How many live in abuse for years, because they're too scared for their lives to leave them?
I have spent daily online playing WoW and Skype/webcam talking with, Mohammed, since April/07. You just get to know the person and feelings begin, as they do if someone in your life, lived next door to you and you had met. The danger is still there, no matter how you met, as I feel no one ever TRULY knows for sure what another person is capiable of doing. All we do is believe they are a good person and love them, until they prove otherwise.
