  1. Congratulations !!!!!!!

I hope that he will get the visa soon .

It seems like they sent that Emil to everyone today or yesterday.

I'm kinda confused . i wonder why they waited us to send them Emails to ask about our status and then they asked us to send our passports back .

Why they did not call us ?!!!!!!!

They even sent the same Eamil and asked some to send their passports and they already have them !!!!!!!!!!

anyway i hope that we will get it soon .

Good luck and my best wishes for everyone .

    Mohamed

** I don't know why they didn't call.. maybe they hadn't had time to call him or was gonna wait till Sunday, but they opened my email and decided to let me know.

Have you received news to send your passport as well? Are you outta AP too? If not, you just hang in there it will happen.

  2. Thanks everyone and I do wish anyone who is waiting the best of luck. I tell you this news couldn't have come at a better time for me. I was feeling really depressed and what wonderful news I received. I started crying and couldn't breath. I'm a firm believer in contacting your Governor, if you filed a K-1 and already had your interview, and it's been one year since it was sent off.

  3. Hello Everyone,

I emailed the Cairo Embassy as I do once a week and 15 minutes ago, this is what I received.

    **

    Dear Madam,

Thank you for your e-mail message.

Please have Mr. Mohamed send his passport to our office via DHL courier service for visa issuance.

    Regards,

    Consular Staff

I was at my worse ever feeling very depressed and something told me to check my email and there it was. I will tell you guys, I can't thank you all enough for the help you have given me through these months.

I also want to tell those that are waiting.. Have ur SO contact their Governors office. If not for them this wouldn't have happened as fast as it did. July 14th made a year ago I filed, I mailed my Governor and in 2 weeks AP was over. Please don't give up and contact those Governors.. it won't hurt, but can help. Wishing you all the very best of luck.

  4. As usual.. I can see this is yet another thread for the smart asses to come out and say hurtful things and make others think they know it all. We're all in this together no matter our ages, religion, or nationality. Why do some have to come along and start ####### in a rather nice thread?

I have learned so much by reading threads like this and I appreciate it, but this is the end of my VJ days. I didn't join it to listen to what smart asses think about me, my relationship, or the help i'm trying to give others. For you know it alls.. you don't know ###### and you need clean to around you own front door before you try to clean around others.

To the guys who were friendly and truly helpful.. I wish you the best of luck in your journey.

  5. Of course it is their business. It is their freaking job to do a little bit of personal interpretation regarding the validity of petitioners' relationships. Why do you think the USEM employs them - for their health??? Ummmm no. They employ them because there might be something an Egyptian citizen might ascertain from an interviewee over what a CO might understand.

I am referring to their personal feelings about an Egyptian man with an American woman. I'm not stupid as you're trying to say I am and I don't appreciate it. End of discussion with you.

  6. Congratulations on your fiance's approval :)(F) It is sad that Egyptians employees in the embassy are rude... I have read the replies on this topic and it makes me wonder, being a female and the beneficiary, if it bothers them that Egyptian men marry American ladies how bothering it is to them if it is the other way around? lol... I know it was a joke, but I am already starting to worry... The process is hard and long already....

I wouldn't worry about anything and with what others think. :star: I personally think it's none of the Egyptian ladies, that work in the Embassie's business, the ages or nationality of the Fiancees. They should look at the evidence presented, to determine the Bonafide's of the relationship.

It seemed this Egyptian girl didn't want to accept, that I knew a computer well enough to play an online game to have met him. That's bull.. I have played WoW for 3 years and I play my characters as well as many of the males. She kept questioning him about me playing and knowing a computer that well. That doesn't even make sense, since we all know she herself must know a computer to have her job.. or I hope she does.

Also, i'm not bashing any female Arab or w/e.. I'm only repeating his exp. at HIS interview. So, I don't see why anyone would get upset over that.

  7. Thanks everyone and I mean it when I say, Thank you to everyone. I have learned a lot by reading your posts and Hot Guy... you are so helpful and willing to go an extra mile to help someone.

He also said, the CO wanted to give him the Visa early on, but the Egyptian girl didn't want her to. She kept asking questions the CO didn't and wouldn't accept his answers. But, he said I kept repeating over and over the same thing. It's the truth, it's all I know and all I could say.

I told him, i'm sure the Egptian girl didn't like him marrying an American, that's the reason she was rude. I'm just glad all went well and I wish each and everyone one of you the best of luck.

  8. I want to thank everyone who has given me advice and those that have shared how their interview exp. went in Cairo. Mohammed had his interview today and he waited about 6 hours, but it was worth the wait.. He is approved!!

Here are the questions the lady with blond hair asked him. Also, he said, she did call in an Egyptian girl to translate, but he answered her in English not Arabic. He said, the Egyptian girl was rude and didn't like his answers and had an attitude. Interview took about 25 minutes.

    1. Who was ________? It was my dads name.

    2. How did I pay for the tickets for the 4 trips.

    3. Asked about our pictures and emails.

    4. She asked if his family had met me.

    5. How his family felt about us marrying.

    6. What did we have in common.

    7. What was my hobbies.

    8. Did we have an Engagment party and why not.

    9. Dates of my trips to Egypt.

    10. How many kids did I have.

    11. My birthdate.

    12. If he was gonna marry me within 90 days after arriving in U.S. Then give him a lecture of what would happen if he married me just for a Visa.

After this, he said, she give him a white paper and told him he was in Administrative Process. She checked off next to AP and passport. She said it would be about 2 months for the checks and then they'd call him to mail his passport to them. He said it went smooth and the CO was nice, but it was the Egyptian girl he didn't like.

  9. Okay, packet 3: Do you send the Medical exam report with the application by DHL to the embassy, or do you keep it and take it with you to the interview? I've got conflicting info here.

For the Medical exam, do the photos you take with you need to be passport-style photos with the white background?

How long did it take for you to get the medical report back?

    Thanks :)

Yes, you send the medical report back to the Embassy by DHL and with your other forms. Passport pictures for your medical exam is also correct.

He got his medical report back in 6 days.. they told him they were backed up. He sent his packet 3 off and the next day, they sent out his interview letter. His interview is 6 days from the date he mailed his packet 3 back.

  10. ** Yes, it cost me $149.00 for a 2lb. package. I had read on here off and on about shipping to Egypt and one payed close to $180.00, I think. I didn't have the money either, but it had personal info of mine and my dads and I felt safe sending by Fedex. After the experience with USPS... I was on pins and needles until he told me had the package.

  11. I sent mine off to my SO about 2 weeks ago ad I used Fedex. It had tracking and made it in about 6 days, but was told it wouldn't for about 10 days. The envelope I sent was about 2" thick and it cost me $149.00 to send it. So, if Fedex will do it for you for $80.00.. that's a steal.

IMO.. never use the postal service to send anything. I have sent my SO 3 letters with delivery confirmation and filled out the waybill form, he has never seen those letters. I trust Fedex and they're the only ones I would use. Good luck.

  12. I am preparing to fill out the I-134 Aff. of support forms and didn't know exactly how to answer number 11. I was looking on Vj and found a thread from Jan, 08 and the lady said, Cairo refused a co-sponsor for them as the co-sponsor wasn't the petitioner.

Has anyone here went through Cairo lately and used a co-sponsor w/o any problems?

On the I-134 #11 - I intend/do not intend to make specific contributions.. The example on VJ shows, n/a (K-1 Visa process for permanent residence) But, I recall months ago, coming across as thread that someone was turned down, because they stated this exact thing on theirs. Any suggestions on what to write for number 11?

    Thank you

  13. HG, you have been on my mind as you've always been so kind to others in helping when you can. I'm happy to hear it's over except for the wait.. at least she didn't tell you your visa's not approved. So, you have much to be happy about and just keep busy planning your future with your loved one.

I also think that is alot of questions, but you're lucky you didn't get one of the men. I do not know why anyone takes a job, just to make another persons life miserable. The interview is the hardest part as they make you feel so uncomfortable and you passed it.. so celebrate.

I was told on 3/25, we are out of AP at NVC and our case was sent to Cairo on 3/20. I'm nervous, as his day is coming soon for him to be in the hot seat at the Embassy and I hope he does as good a job as you did. Just pray in a couple of months you'll get your visa and be on your way to the U.S.A.

    Best Wishes..

  14. Monica ,if u want to do other women a favor post his pic on here because i think he is trying to get other women in different countries .

I been dealing with the same thing... i was waiting for K1 for 2 years and all those promises how he just loves me and not the green card .

Bull.............. its all about them......and for those who think they will be happy........ good luck to u all .....only they will never tell what really happend to then ..because i know a lot of women on here that have been there and going through it right now.... only they r married already and have to deal with abuse .What r u women looking for? A man without a job and no money? Don't fool yourself .....even if they r Dr.s ..its not the same as here.

What was you looking for when you found yours? Is he a doctor since you mention them? Why do they have to deal with abuse.. all these other women you know? Not in American does a woman HAVE to deal with abuse. Why don't you put a pic of yours instead of trying to get someone else to? You sound very bitter and it's not going to help you to heal, to try and convince the rest of us we are going to be in your shoes one day.

There's nothing wrong with letting your steam out, but don't try to act as if you KNOW all of our SO, because you don't. If you know your man is preying on other VJ members, then spill the beans about him. You're not saying anything to help any of us, except put down our SO, which you don't know anything about.

  15. By believing all the niece things they say ..........we all need to be loved and want to be loved ......we r impatient and lonly and we go on line to find love instead of going to social events or friend.... they promise us the skies and we want it to be true but deep in our hearts we know they r lying to us ,tho we hope for better and in the end its all fake .

Eeven those who are happy now.......it will come to u too .

they always end up with their own women because we don;t obey their rules .

Face it women ........we r independent and they need dependent women ....one that does as they say.

I didn't go online to find love, never gave love a second thought in my case. I was on an online game my family plays and that's where I met mine. I spent 7 months last year with him and I feel I know him as well as I do any guy i'd meet in my hometown. I do not believe ALL is fake, our hearts don't know about cultures, languages, rules.. all it knows is it met someone and it loves them. Just because the guy is from the ME doesn't mean his heart can't feel the same way.

It sounds to me you are speaking from experience not through friends. What anyone must realize in ANY relationship, is we don't truly know anyone but ourselves. Many women in our own home country marry american men and have families, later to find out he is a murderer or rapist. Some take the only life savings the family had and hit the road and is never heard from again. Bad, evil, deceptive people come in ALL countires, religions, and cultures.

As for education.. there is NOTHING stopping them from getting an education in their own country. I'm sorry for any woman this happens to, but it's not only a guy from the ME that breaks an american womans heart or uses her. I might get used, but I run that risk with a man i'd choose from my own town and i'll run a big risk not making it out of the relationship with my head intact.

  16. I have been trying to contact The Embassy in Cairo, to make sure they have my SO new address and they kept saying they haven't received it yet. I received hard copies from NVC with dates of 2/4, 2/9, 2/10 with my new case # and within a week our case will be forwarded to Cairo. I called NVC just now and she said our case is still at NVC and we are in AP.

When they put you in AP at the NVC level, then it's forwarded to Cairo, will we have to go through AP again at the Consulates lvl? I know AP can take months, even years, and I would think after being in AP that long, once it reached the Consulate they'd not have to do it again. Just wondering what are your experiences with this.

    Thanks

  17. If you were interviewed and they asked for proof of income, then this is all you need to worry about at this point. Tell your fiance to send you the proof of his income they need as they told you to do.

I think you are referring to an Orfi, correct? My fiance and I have one and he is from Egypt. We also filed for a K-1 and when asked at his interview if he has an Orfi, he will say, yes. I would say most who apply for a K-1 visa in Egypt, has an Orfi, as you can't live together without one. This is NOT a legal registered marriage.. therefore you are NOT married in the eyes of the U.S. Government.

The Embassy always knows the customs of the country they serve and Orfi Marriages are known by those who interview as an unregistered, non legal marriage. It's nothing more than a piece of paper saying you two are married, to satisfy the police.. if you were stopped while out together and the manager where you rent your apartment.

Unless you went and had your Orfi registered, you are not to worry about the email. You didn't go to your government and register it, correct? If so, i'm not sure about this as i'm only familar with unregistered Orfi's. I'm also speaking for Egypt only, as I don't know anything about the country you're going through, but "Hot Guy" i'm sure understands and can give you good advice.

Good luck and just keep asking what you need to know as that's what we're here for.

  18. ConsularCairoIV@state.gov

This is the one I use and it goes through fine. This is for the Immigration Visa, the NIV would probably be the Non-Immigrant Visa's. Not that it should probably matter.

O.K. I will try that it looks like someone added and N in the one they provide and yours doesn't have an N in it. Thank you so much i'll try it now.

  19. what email u use ... and why u dont contact them by phone

I used the email they provided on the Embassy website for visa questions. I haven't called because i'm in the U.S. and it says, you must call from within Egypt and they don't provide a number for outside of Egypt to call them.

This is the one i've tried using: ConsularCairoNIV@state.gov

  20. yeah they know about that at DHL thats for sure.

i think i will send my forms back to the embassy maybe the end of this month .

so maybe we will have the same interview date :D

    Good luck

Good luck to you too. I did get through to NVC over the phone and changed his address, but i'm not happy till I hear from them through an email. She did not speak english well and kept messing up on the address. :( This did not ease my mind all is ok with his address. So, I will continue to email NVC and next week start emailing Cairo. Thanks again for your help.
