  1. The Senator's office called me back last Friday to tell me the NVC gave them the same message that they gave to us, and they would put in some sort of request for information on the interviews... unfortunately I haven't heard back yet (probably because the NVC hasn't answered them I would guess)... I may call them tomorrow just to check.

We still can't access the scheduling system, because our case is still "In Transit." Do you know any direct way to get in contact with the consulate or ustraveldocs? I tried calling a number my wife had, but they only answer nonimmigrant inquiries. My wife tried calling ustraveldocs, and they told her the same pretty much. I've left an email through the online system at the consulate's site, but I would prefer direct contact when possible.

there's an email form at the website - but, IMO, it's useless to contact them until DoS Hotline tells you the casefile is opened. Sure, that means yer calling each day, into DoS, to ask for casefile status.

Well, we finally got an email today telling us we were eligible to schedule an interview and got one on August 12. I saw an option for emergency appointments on the site and submitted a copy of my doctor's note for my upcoming surgery and marriage certificate in hopes of possibly getting an earlier date. Interestingly, that option no longer appears for the website for me after I submitted the request.
