  1. Finally, we submiited the RFE back to USCIS. Last 17th for me and 18th for my son. It took us a while coz the doctor was on vacation for a week after we had our exam so we waited for him to be back to get the result. Also, to save from cost, we went to the City Health Department to get our TB Skin Test. My son had negative result but I got positive one, so they scheduled me for an Xray on the 17th. We may have done it earlier but we need to pay $80 to private radiologist and the one in Health Department is FREE.

As soon as I had my Chest Xray result, we went back to the Dr to have him complete my I-693 and told him that we needed to put my son's TST result and his vaccination records on the I-693 too. But the Dr said that he needs to have FULL MEDICAL EXAM though we explained and even showed him the RFE letter we got from USCIS that they are only asking for TST. He insisted hard and since we are so close to our deadline (June 21), we just let him squeeze out some sh*t from our a*s. It was bull! I know!

We weren't happy about the Dr (obviously!) but were still glad that finally we were able to send the RFE back before the deadline. Now, the waiting continues for us.

To those who had RFE's, how long did your case resumed after you submitted the RFE back to USCIS? Just wanna have an idea.

  2. I love my in-laws so much! They all love me too. As in, they always treated me and my son as their own.

I thought at first, when I was still in Pinas, that they'd not like me cos they never knew about me until their son and me got engaged. But after my hubby (was then fiance) told them about us (me and my son) and our plan to get married, me and Mom started e-mailing each other, almost everyday. She is a very nice woman. Very talkative din, gaya ko. In fact, when we first got here, and we met at the airport, she started talking a lot which made me so comfortable right off the bat.

My dad-in-law isn't really talkative and so sarcastic naturally, in a mean and funny way, which what we always miss about him. Both of them loved my son so much though he's not their own blood, but they love him, much more than how they love their real grandson cos they see my son more often than the other. In fact, during the time that me and my then-fiance planned on having me here, we thought of just leaving my son and just have him follow-to-join cos we're tight on money, but it was my parents-in-law who paid every single penny needed for my son to get here at the same time with me. Nakakatouch talaga!

    And the list goes on....

    Kayo naman! :D

  4. So THAT's who married my ex-wife!!

If he was married this long he should have an unconditional green card. What's the probem? I don't understand. After two years he should have had consitions lifted and be on his own.

this is what i dont understand! I asked him what went wrong and he doesnt know. I know he should have recieved a work permit at least 90 days after his initial application. he has nothing! just the paper stating they have a "number" for him, along with the other that states that his petition has been approved. i believe that it was the lawyer that was filing the paperwork.

what should i tell him to do?

Can he ask his lawyer about it?

I believe that the marriage was entered in good faith and that's what's important. It was just the woman who seemed to lose her mind. If he has a lawyer, I'm pretty sure they can help him about it.

  5. I believe that is a general heading, like a title--Medical Exam. Another RFE might have had the title Affidavit of Support.

Then underneath your title, they give you the specific part of the medical exam that is missing or in your case expired. I think your son only needs a record of being free of TB, which can be shown with a TB skin test.

That's what i understand too but I just wanna make sure. Tomorrow we'll go to the Civil Surgeon and get the test and exam done.

I was just confused cos we both have the same heading in the letter and we both have the same medical exam date, but the description in the RFE is different which confuses me.

But thanks for y'all response. I truly appreciate it.

  6. The record shows that over 12 months of time has transpired since you were medically examined in conjunction with you K-1 entry.

What was the date of your medical? They think it's been longer than a year so aren't accepting it. If your NOA date was less than a year from the medical, then you might try to speak to an officer or make an infopass appointment and insist you applied before a year had passed and their slowness to review it should not penalize you to have to go through another exam. It's in the rules that way.

About your 2 year old son. Did he have a chest x-ray at his medical or any test to rule out TB? Perhaps he was too young. If he didn't, then he should have a TB skin test to send to USCIS before they can approve him.

Our medical exam was on 4/23/08 and yes we received NOA prior to expiration of our medical exam but I called USCIS and spoke to an IO, she said that because I have been in the US for a few months being out of status, they'd require to have medical exam which I understand.

My son was less than 2 years old when he got his medical exam in the Philippines, so he didn't get TST that time. So, should I just get the TST for my son instead of the full medical exam? It says in the notice that they want I-693 Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record (same as mine), then below that is the TST.

  7. After reading about an RFE post here, I read our notice again and I'm confuse now.

I got my RFE and my son's RFE and here is what's in there: (notice the lines in red)

    MY RFE

I-693 Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record

The record shows that over 12 months of time has transpired since you were medically examined in conjunction with you K-1 entry.

Form I-693: Please submit a properly completed and signed Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. The medical examination must be conducted by a physician who is on the list of Civil Surgeon approved by USCIS.

    SON'S RFE

    Request for Additional Evidence (I-485)

This office is unable to complete the processing of your Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, (Form I-485) without additional information. Please submit the information requested below.

I-693 Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record

TUBERCULIN (TB) SKIN TEST: Current regulations now require that the tuberculin skin test and/or chest X-ray be completed by all applicants 2 years of age and older. Your Form I-693 reflects that you have not had a tuberculin skin test or chest X-ray performed. A chest X-ray is required only when the reaction to the skin test is 5mm or more ...(so on)

Me and my son had the same medical exam date, 4/23/08, and I understand that we submitted our AOS application close to the expiration of our medical exam. What confuses me is whether I should get a full medical exam for my son or just the TST?

  8. Hi AndJona ..Shophie123..

We received an RFE on 06/01 too . I didn't expect it because I send them I-693 vaccination Part(did them in feb. 09)...which requred for K1 NOw they asking for whole medical exam report I-693 to submitt...

I can see my application online, it did not mention the RFE it says that case pending at CSC.

Now we have to take whole medical exam..n got to civil surgon certifited to it.

We took appoitment yesterday n did medical exam again...Report gonna be collect on next tuesday.. so waiting now for it.

& I have to return REF by June 25the

    Good luck everyone!

Did you have the civil surgeon fill out the first I-693 that was sent?

yaa...civil surgeon fill out our vaccination Part & certified I-693 form..Now again Paying civil surgeon for I-693 whole form..

In your case, they have lost or can't find your medical exam that's why they asked you for another one which is a very common case (based on what I've read here on VJ).

I still have to do my medical exam tomorrow and my son's TST :(

To destine, congrats for the approval

  9. I have partly updated the March AOS/EAD/AP Filers spreadsheet at

    http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pFA...QRCkw0cUHUhHXMQ

to the best of my knowledge, looking at your timelines and/or signatures.

There are 75 couples in there, so it is significant data.

By the way, it would be best if we each updated it individually. To do this, just click the "Edit this page" link at the bottom left of the spreadsheet.

Remember that the data is extremely useful to all of us, as well as future AOS filers.

    Thank you.

    Paul

Thanks for the reminder Angela & Paul. I try my best to keep it updated too, but just don't have the full time capability to do so, so yes it is best that we should individually update it, that's why I set it for everyone to have the right to edit it.

Thanks to those who are updating it regularly.

I can figure out how to edit the spreadsheet but I can't seem to figure out how to save it after?

Don't worry about that cos I set to save automatically once changes has been made.

  10. Thanks for y'all replies.

So, I made the call myself earlier since I only asked my hubby to call them the other day. Then I found one who is an hour drive away from us, but he only charges $175 for everything already. So, he's the cheapest one I found and decided to just go to him. So, my problem is solve now. We'll have our exam on Thursday since cos it's my husband's off.

Again, thanks y'all for helping.

  11. Hi Folks. My husband and I submitted his AOS along with EAD and AP documents. We got our NOA1 dated May 1 and a few weeks later received an RFE because we had not included a translation of his Mexican birth certificate. The RFE stated that my husband's EAD may be delayed and that a decision may not happen until 90 days after the receipt of the requested document translation.

We took care of the translation and sent it via overnight mail, which we could track. Someone at the USCIS signed for that mail on May 26. In the meantime, my husband has also had his biometrics appointment (May 28). I checked his case status online, however, and it says they're still awaiting information from the RFE they sent. The phone service, of course, says the same thing. Does anyone have an experience similar to this? Is there a way to figure out what they're doing with our case at this point? We have proof that someone signed for our document, but apparently it hasn't been entered into their system yet? The EAD receipt date is of particular concern, as my husband has a potential job pending... How do we get information about this case?

    Thanks for your help.

Their online service is unreliable so don't worry about that. They already received it and they're working on it. As long as it was confirmed through your postal office that the mail was received by them, then it was received. Just hang in there.

  12. Try to find a civil surgeon suggested by your local uscis office. Like here in Las vegas, the USCIS office has an authorized civil surgeon who works with them and they normal charge less than the other. Their office is just right besides USCIS. I am talking about Dr. Topigh at Pepper Lane, LV, NV. Maybe you can also find one in your place.

Thanks for the advise but the nearest Local INS office to us is about 2-hour drive away from us.

  13. My insurance does not cover the cost at the civil surgeon's office which I know is crazy expensive. So, the civil surgeon that I am planning to use advised me to get my remaining vaccination (tetanus) and my bloodwork (HIV and Syphilis) done at my own family physician or at the county's Health Department if I want to save money. Then I must go back to the civil surgeon's office to do my physical and TST and have everything else transcribed into I-693. I just need to have all my records with me.

I guess I am going to do just that since she (the civil surgeon) allows that. I am looking at saving $133 if I follow her advice. So.... why not?

    Cheers...

Good, at least you were referred. I haven't gone to any CS yet, just trying to figure which is best for us, price and convenience wise.

  14. I called all the Civil Surgeons in our area to compare prices and found out one, Dr. Carlos E Gray (Oltorf Medical Clinic), who'd only charge $175 for physical exam including bloodwork but doesn't do Tubersulin Skin Testing. He's the cheapest that I found.

Now, my question is, since we need TST (for me and my son), can I go to a different Civil Surgeon? Would that make things complicated or what? Because Dr. Arnold only charges $20 for TST but $230 for physical exam and bloodwork.

    I need your opinion. :help:

  15. Explain to me where this is?

I think he saw one of the member's signature here "Ask a silly question, I'll give you silly answer" which I forgot the name, then the OP thought that he asked a silly question but just saying in advance that he doesn't wanna get a silly answer. That's just my speculation though.

Anyway, gus123, congratulations to you! Nothing to worry about cos you're approved and you'll be receiving your GC soon. Am so happy for ya!

PS. You didn't ask the silly question and if you receive sarcastic answer, just don't mind them. :innocent:

  16. Thanks andyjona.Im sorry to hear about your RFE.I have a friend of mine too who just had her RFE about re-doing full medical exam. She had her medical in PI Sept.2008 same month I had my medical too but still the uscis wants her to have medical again.Another thing, when its immigration purposes, they dont take insurance,so they spent around $320 just for her medical at the civil surgeon.Anyway, she said she didnt submit I-693 along with her AOS application..she only submitted DS-3025.

In my case,I went to a civil surgeon,he looked up on my vaccination supplemental form and he saw that my HPV 1st shot were past 6mos.already so he told me to go to our doctor to have my HPV 2nd shot so we dont have to pay $150 for the shot if I will have the shot on his office,he said USCIS dont take insurance for immigration purposes,so then he transcribed my DS-3025 to I-693 form sign and sealed it and gave it to me the same day and charged me $25 for that,he just told me to go to our doctor, took the shot and fax him the proof that I took the HPV shot..I submitted my I-693 sealed envelope along with my applications and a copy of my DS-3025.

Another VJ member here too (K1 and K2) filed their AOS and it been 6months now, they just had their RFE 3weeks ago about full medical and they re-do it and sent it to USCIS,but last Friday, she told me that USCIS sent her another RFE again when she checked their case online...now she's waiting for the RFE notice in the mail so she can find out what they want again.

Im hoping for the rest here to have a smooth process and have approval soon.

    God Bless us ALL!!!

I also submitted I-693. I'm pretty sure we did everything right with regards to the documents that we submitted. I was actually anticipating to get this kind of RFE cos the date we submitted our AOS application was pretty close the our medical exam's anniv. I'm just confuse why they asked for my full exam and ask just TST for my son when we had the same med exam date. I just hope that they won't send us another RFE for my son for getting his full med  The IO I talked to said that it won't likely to happen. I'm keeping my fingers cross though.

  17. Congrats Bluemist! I'm so happy for you.

As for us, we already received our RFE letter. They asked for my full medical exam saying that it's been over 12 months since I had it prior to K1 admission. Yes, they're right but it wasn't 12 months yet when they received our AOS application. We had medical exam at the Philippines on 4/23/08 and they received our AOS applications on 3/26/09. But we can't argue with them or else no GC for me. While for my son, they only asked for TST from him which confuses me cos we had the same medical exam and submission date. But again, we always need to satisfy what USCIS asked for, no more, no less.

Good luck to all of us!

I'm sorry to hear about your RFE.. puts a big weight on our shoulders as We're very short on money and my Husband is most likely going to be receiving the same RFE. His medical was 4/28/08 and they received our AOS on 3/18/09. So it's cutting it close.. looks like we better start saving up!

Also congrats to the recent approvals, that's great news.. quick too!

Same here. We're tight on money too but we don't a choice. Oh, I take it back. Actually there is cos when I called USCIS and spoke to an IO, she said that I shouldn't have another medical cos we filed AOS within the 12-month, but it'd really depend on who's looking at our cases. So if we'd like to do the route of proving to them that we submitted within the 12-month period, etc., there is a possibility that we may win or may not. But I don't think it'd be worth the risk. I'm not really a risk-taker in comes to this situation.

  18. Congrats Bluemist! I'm so happy for you.

  19. We called the misinformation line. My husband called 1st and wasn't satisfied with the lady's answer cos she's just telling us what we already know, so he asked for a higher level and won't let the lady transfer him so he got irate

So I called them and was nice enough so they gave me an immigration officer to talk to instead of just the customer service rep. Then explained to me my case and everything. I was satisfied with what I heard from her, with the explanation she gave me and all.

The immigration officer was right, "Give the USCIS what they want, no more, no less, avoid any problems.", so we'll give them my full med exam and my son's TST. Hopefully they won't asked for my son's full med exam after we'll submit his TST cos they only asked for TST.
