As a ex-californian I can honestly say I am very glad to be out of that god forsaken state. I was born there, lived there till I turned 13 and then moved away. I have been back several times and each trip re-afirms why I moved away. It's a nice place to visit but live...hmm you have to make at least $4000 a month to live there comfortably. The last time I was down there which was a few years ago, a loaf of bread was $5 and a gallon of milk was $7. I dont know about now. I looked at some places to rent and #######, $1000 a month for a studio. No thanks I'll stick to Idaho with our 4 seasons, cheap cost of living (you can rent a 4 bedroom house for <$900/month) and our .89 loafs of bread. Crime is another problem in Cali,there is lots of it.

Sounds like you have no choice but to do a K3 or CR1 in a years time. You cant do a K1 and get married outside of the US.

Filing a birth abroad can take from 2 to 6 months. You also have to have passports for the babies to get into the US so it can take from 2-8 months for everything to happen. It just depends on the country.

Good luck but I am curious, your filing you i129 for a k1 visa right? Why did you send it to Austin Tx instead of the Lock Box in Chicigo or am I reading your post wrong?

The part I like is Phillips Morris supports this regulation. The FDA will regulate the amount of nicotine in each cig. Now stop right there and ask your self this, why would Phillips Morris support the goverment on this matter. It's because they see dollar signs. Say each smoke has 15mg of nicotine, now cut this amount in half and you have a bunch of smokers smoking twice as much to get thier fix. I am supprised other manufactures are not seeing the money signs that Phillips Morris is and welcoming this.

Light cigarettes with less nicotine have been around for awhile. I doubt the FDA would put a limit on the amount of nicotine per cigarette. Most likely, the FDA will be focused on disclosure of all the chemicals that Tobacco Co.'s add. Currently, cigarettes packaging shows no list of the ingredients.

That statement right there tells me the FDA "could" limit the amount of nicotine. I know lites have been around for years, as a pack a day smoker if all of a sudden I was only given the option of lites, I would end up smoking almost twice enough (thank god I'm using chantex to quit, it's my 7th day) I know of plenty of heavy smokers that would end up smoking twice as many cigs a day to get their fix. OP, maybe you can find one of these fellow Indians from VJ to live with while you work on finishing the Doctor thing. Once you learn the ropes here in the US, you can divorce your husband, become a doctor and have a awesome life here in the US. You have a visa, as others have said use it, don't lose it.

Hmm, interesting thread....I hadn't worked for over a year before bringing my wife over...I was on workers comp and that pays #######. Before that I made a good living. My point is bad things happen in life...I dont consider myself middle aged, I'm 39 the end of this month. I was lucky to find a job that I could make over $1000 a week with only 1 week of training considering my family size for the AOS was 5 and I needed to show lots of income, but as all good things must end....the economy dumped. Thank god I qualified before the job dumped along with the ecconomy. I didn't bring my wife over for love anyway....she is my sexual slave and I am her's!

My wife was preggy and we was able to expidite our case from NVC to USEM to visa in a matter of weeks. It wont be a problem. As was said by other members, no xrays or vacs.

You can have a marriage ceremony in the Phils no problem, just DO NOT do the paperwork. I think you have to apply for a marriage licence from the municiaple office (mayors office) and that takes 10-14 days if I remember right. If you skip this step you marriage is NOT legal, plain and simple. So have your wedding there then fly to the US and get married legally. All that matter here is the legalitly of the paper work.

You use your K1 Visa to enter the US, no other visa is needed. After you marry, within the 90 days you can apply for your AOS and EAD. From what I have been reading this takes a few months.

You have 6 months to make your POE from the day the visa was issued. You then have 90 days after POE to get married.

None, they don't care about that kind of stuff.

My take on not just muslims but all religion

Hmm just about every war in history has been fought over religion. I'm not saying all but most. Lets break this down some. It's muslim this, Christian that, lets take away the religion and what do you have left...plain ordinary people. If the world's masses were not religious we could come together as the human race and accomplish great things. Religion is the altimate evil plain and simple. Religion makes to many people narrow minded in their beliefs to stop and try to under stand their fellow human. I'm going to touch on the bible,quran or what ever its called and any another other "bible" type of book for a minute. Who is not to say one cold night in the desert these people were cold,hungry and lonely. They found some bushes and mushrooms growing and wala they had a merry feast.

Un-known to them the bush they were burning was marijuana and the mushroom made them "trip" and wala religion was born. I can tell you, I am not religious in any bone of my body but my god I got ahold of some mj and shrooms a few times that had me freaked out. To this day I still have a hard time beleiving it was just a bad trip and not real. The point to this is nobody know if God is real or not yet more blood has been spilled in his name then any other reason in history...all based on some writings that may or may not have been a bad trip.

Personally I could f"n care less what religion someone is till they start telling me how to live my life then watch out, you going to get a ear full of language that would make a sailor blush. My last post on this subject. I stand behind what I said about America saving the world from Germany. It was American warships that brought the Allied soldiers to Normandy. It was american stradagy and allied soldiers and that stopped Germany. The vast amount of Allied soldiers that died was American, it was dropping the bombs on Japan that ended the war, once again American. I DO realize that this was 65 years ago. The generations since can not be held responsable. Hell my grandma and gradpa fleed Germany during the war amd moved to Iowa. So I am half German.

Let me tell you a story, I blew out my ACL's and MCL's in both knees several years ago while skiiing. I had to fly to Seatle from Boise. I had this big knee brace on that immobilized my rt leg. Well the day before I flew to Seatle I was reloading some shotgun shells. Going through security they pulled me aside for further checks because of my knee brace. Well when they swapped my hands they found trace amounts of gun powder. Next thing I know I was be strip searched and they removed my brace, regardless of how much pain they caused me. Needless to say they found nothing and I was on my way to the gate. I wasn't mad, heck I really appriciated the fact that they were DOING their job. It's these same azzwipes they are protecting us from who will stop at nothing to strike at us on our own soil using any means they can, using man,woman,child and from any country they recruit from. So yes I am affronted. I do admit my response was much stronger then it should of been and I do appoligize for that. I need to be more tactfull.

Accually you will be fine, I hadn't work for a year (workers comp) before filing for my wife. You will need a letter from your employer on company letterhead,their contact info and you should be fine. Send in the letter,check stub(s) and write a letter of explanation describing your situation and you will have no problems.

My income for the prior years leading to filing was bad, $32,000 3 years ago, $6000 2 years ago (student) and $0 in 2007 (workers comp year). I also have 3 children from a previous marriage.
