  1. I know right! I wonder if he will get his oath ceremony in, in time to vote? Just ready for it all to be over & done with too! We'll keep everyone posted when we get the oath letter!

Hopefully it will. Where I am we must be registered at least 30 days before the election. Not sure if the rules are the same there? If it is mid-September then that should give you enough time! Print the forms out now and have them ready to send off the day after the ceremony.

Today is the day. I still cannot believe it. I've been waiting for this day my whole life!! I think I will get completely emotional when I get to the ceremoney th is afternoon. I am leaving work early!

    Hope all goes well!

  2. You never cease to amaze me. Go back and check and see who the Governor and Mayor of Louisiana and New Orleans respectively was during Katrina.

I know who the governor is and was, I live very close to New Orleans... You don't... What on earth does Katrina have to do with the RNC? The RNC in Tampa is this year, 2012. Why are you confusing this with 2005? Why would you confuse a category 5 hurricane with a Tropical Storm? They are completely unrelated. Would you like to compare apples and oranges next?

  3. You don't even need that much money to eat healthy.

Eat only whole foods (fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, eggs, nuts) and stay away from processed foods (cereals, doughnuts, pizza, hamburgers, sausages).

Yep, I do this already. :) If it wasn't so hot I would grow my own veggies. Unfortunately most people here are stupid about food. I know people who think eating two chicken breasts is "healthy" and better for you than a burger. :bonk:

  4. Amazingly enough it's the same percentage of people on food stamps in Mississippi. A family of four gets 150 per week in food substance thru the Snap program in Mississippi. If you can't feed a family of four on 150 per week , you are not poor enough to or smart enough to make smart decisions. 150 will buy a lot of flour, rice and beans.. Maybe that sounds harsh, but it's your job to go out and earn enough money to buy frozen entrees and Soda Pop.

How many of those 25% you wanna bet had cell phones and expensive shoes ?

Most of the poor in this country are not poor enough to go hungry, that just have their priorities wrong. If you have a Flat Screen, Car and Cell Phone you are not poor.

Who said that these people were on SNAP?

I'm not surprised - the fat аsses who live there need a LOT of food.

Fattest and poorest state in the nation. It's all the hamburgers.

  5. Do I need to extend the I-94 even if i am k-1 visa holder? Is it a big deal if it expires and I didn't apply for AOS yet?

No you don't need to extend it. You are technically out of status if you don't apply for AOS before it expires. USCIS will forgive this when you file. You can apply for AOS at any time but I would recommend doing it as soon as possible. I was unable to get a learners permit until my GC was approved, and it took a while!

The SS office should be simple. Take the SS card application, you can find it here. SS card application

Also take your passport with valid I-94 and marriage certificate.

  6. Again - I never mentioned slavery, nor did I imply that there was a parallel to slavery in Israel. I am saying there are parallels between how Palestinians ("Israeli Arabs") are treated in Israel, and how blacks were treated during the Jim Crow era. This is what I said:

You mentioned Jim Crow, a result of slavery. Not sure how many times I have to repeat this to you? This is a terrible comparison.
