  1. Not shooting the messanger. Just wondering how sexual equality is to be achived when men and women are inherently sexually unequal due to biology and physiology. Is the premise a platitude or a legitimate goal?

i don't think it's referring to to the body, just equalities in life?

  2. feminism n. advocacy of women's rights and sexual equality.

Sexual equality with whom or what?

    to the opposite sex?

    How would that be achieved?

umm? lol... what are you asking me? how women aren't sexually equal to men?

that definition is from the oxford english dictionary btw, don't shoot the messenger :P

  3. It's really quite simple, if you aren't able to have control of your own body (ie, if you can't choose to have an abortion under any circumstances) then you don't have control over your life unless you adopt a no sex policy. I don't really see how it can be that hard to understand. Pro choice is simply understanding that women have that control WHETHER OR NOT they choose to excercise that choice in the circumstance of terminating a pregnancy. Being pro choice is the only FEMINIST choice because it's the only one that give keeps the choice with the woman and not some outside agency.

If you can't understand that concept, well, really.

  4. Its laughable that a woman can be both pro-life and feminist, given that the pro-life position goes totally against women's rights.

I mean - could a black person reasonably call themselves a civil rights advocate if they supported racial segregation?

lol ya, she clearly isnt a feminist...

  5. Nooooo, dont pay attention to USCIS website!!!!, put the correct date in your timeline. It looks like you forgot to put the date you sent the I129F. You should fill out the date you sent your I129F and the date they received your application. When you have that information, automatically you´ll see an estimate of the date that you should recieve your NOA2. I filed in June and mine is approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so dont pay attention to them. Good luck!!!! your NOA2 is coming to you!!

the processing date quoted by the USCIS is supposed to be the earliest dated petitions they are processing, but many people receive their NOA2 before then, its just to cover themselves. lots of ppl from may are getting theirs now, dont panic ppls!

  6. lol @ her friends love of cows, this woman is clearly insane

this is in the ny times article..

"Rick Steiner, a University of Alaska professor, sought the e-mail messages of state scientists who had examined the effect of global warming on polar bears. (Ms. Palin said the scientists had found no ill effects, and she has sued the federal government to block the listing of the bears as endangered.) An administration official told Mr. Steiner that his request would cost $468,784 to process.

When Mr. Steiner finally obtained the e-mail messages — through a federal records request — he discovered that state scientists had in fact agreed that the bears were in danger, records show.

“Their secrecy is off the charts,” Mr. Steiner said."

how exactly is she going to get away with this?

  7. I tell Chantal all the time that this is the BIGGEST test that we will ever be given. If we can make it through this, then we can make it through anything.

Anyway.....I was glad to see this topic brought up today. Because, as much as we complain about this whole process......there are some great points to it as well.

We know exactly what we have, and exactly what we are getting.

Many couples never know what they are getting until it's too late.

Happy Thursday everyone. One day closer to having the love of our lives in our arms.

couldn't have put it better myself

  8. Hi Alex ... yea I know, it's almost unreal. I feel so lucky to have this approval now, and luck is the keyword here ...

    Melannie, I understand what you're saying ...

I got this remark at work a while ago "how is it possible to miss someone so bad that you're almost making yourself sick, well there are men here too you know, or why don't you get a substitute while you're here?" Really sensitive ... while I wasn't really complaining about anything at all, because I don't share my personal life with most of my co-workers. I was mad, but I didn't bother getting into a discussion ...

wow that sucks... you just have to remember that these people have no idea what this is like, and have probably never been in love like we all are either :)

  9. I wish I could say the list helps us. Even a little.

When it was working, it was awesome. We were able to watch us go from 150 to 80. It gave us something to look forward to each day.

But, when you rely on something like that list to keep your spirits up each day......when it's not working anymore......well.......it was a rough few weeks before we found out what was going on.

Anyway......we've been stuck on 80 for about a month now. If you're looking to see which VJ members have updated their profiles after approval, then the list is worth a look.

Otherwise, it's a total kick in the seeds.

the list used to be really good but like you say i haven't seen it move up for a month either, it's mostly just new members joining and pushing everyone below them further down... we've been moving around between 89 and 93 for over a month now, pretty disheartening... but you say this is a computer problem? that's comforting, somewhat ;)

the list is working again btw everyone

    congratulations tarantula!

  10. hi, we are currently waiting for our noa2 and i was wondering if someone could tell me whether a change in details on the g-325a matters?

since receiving our noa1 the petitioners parent has died... i'm pretty sure this isn't of any interest to the uscis, but i just wanted to check

    thanks in advance
