  1. This is the NOA2 which you will attach to your inquiry - Don't worry about the expiration date - The Consular Officer will extend the validity of the notice at the time of the interview - If it's going to expire before your interview, I suggest you and your fiance write updated letters of intent to marry to bring with you to the interview. Otherwise there is nothing you need to do about that expiration date.
  2. In case anyone missed it... We got our interview scheduled yesterday! It's set for July 23rd (1 day before yours @hplusj ) I'll post details as soon afterward as I can for those coming after us
  3. Today's stats: June 16, 2025 23:15 MDT November 2024 Filed I-485 Stats • Approved: 11,164 (+247) • Denied: 1336 • FingerprintScheduled: 69 • InterviewCancelled: 485 • InterviewScheduled: 8,835 (-171) • Processing: 19,022 (-96) • Received: 555 • Rejected: 102 • RFE: 420 • Terminated: 199 • Withdrawal: 50 • Others: 29
  4. The other question is, do you not qualify with income alone? Because if you do qualify with income, you do not need to include assets.
  5. They usually take you straight from primary inspection at passport control to secondary unless they want to inspect your baggage as part of the secondary inspection. Basically you will just sit in a waiting room while officers make sure your ADIT stamp is legit and then they'll call you up to a window to answer any further questions they have for you and give you back your passport and send you on your way. It couldn't hurt to have a copy of your I-90 receipt notice to show them.
  6. It took us 3 inquiries to get the case number. You can send them about 10 days between each inquiry
  7. Thank you for all your moral support my friend... it is truly appreciated!
  8. That's good news! Means the NIV section has started working on the case

  10. @Turquoise Sorry for the delayed response... busy weekend. Once the status of your I-129F goes from "Approved" to "Case Has been Sent to The Department of State" you can make an inquiry with the NVC to see if they have input your petition and created a Department of State case number. With this case number you can track the status of your visa application and where it is (At NVC, In Transit, Ready at the Embassy, Approved, Issued, etc.). I would give it about 3-4 weeks after the status changes before you make an inquiry. You will ask if you have a case number yet, attach a scan of the I-129F approval notice to the inquiry and in the first inquiry I would have them verify they they have the correct email addresses for petitioner an beneficiary. Below is an edited version of the first inquiry Jaycel and I made to them: Our I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancée, was recently approved (June 1, 2024) and we received our I-797 (NOA2) from USCIS and were notified that our case was sent to the Department of State. We haven't received any further communication via mail or email and we were hoping we could obtain our NVC Case Number in order to progress with our application. I have attached our I-797 (NOA2) to this request for your reference. Thank you for any help you could provide. Also requesting if you could verify that our email addresses are correct as listed below: Petitioner: Edward XXXXXXX Petitioner email: email@email.com Beneficiary: Jaycel XXXXXXX Beneficiary email: email@email.com Thank you.

  13. “At NVC” means they have not shipped your file to the embassy yet. When they send it to the embassy, you will get an email with a K1-FTP letter attached stating it’s enroute to the embassy.
  14. So happy for you @SL2024!! Glad this part of it is behind you now
  15. I though it might because of the status showing “show fingerprint has been taken”. For whatever reason, and this is not set in stone or an absolute truth, all the reading and researching I have been doing since starting this journey shows that MSC cases seem to take a bit longer than IOE. Like I said, a lot of this is anecdotal and from reading other's accounts of their timelines. Don't sweat it too much, it will happen soon enough!
  16. Ah ok... so you got the acknowledgement email back from them saying they received your request? That's good... it can take them up to a week to respond. Right now they are processing Public Inquiry requests from 6/3/2025 Current Public Inquiry Form response time: As of 9-Jun-25, we are responding to inquiries received on 3-Jun-25.
  17. Did you send an email or did you use the public inquiry website?
  18. Do NOT email... They will not give you case details via email. Use the public inquiry link below. In that online form, there is a button to attach files. Attach a scan of you I-129F approval notice and in the body of the request, ask them if your case number is available yet. After that, ask them to make sure they have the current email addresses for the petitioner and beneficiary and then give them both your email addresses. This will ensure that the NVC and then the embassy has both of your email addresses going forward. If they say they haven't created your case file yet, you can inquire every 10 days or so. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html
  19. I can understand this prompting them to request police/FBI reports but the I-129F copy? I don't get that at all

  21. I would agree with those above that the Spousal Visa is a superior option (This coming from a Phil-Am couple that went the K-1 route ) However, if you do decide to pursue the K-1 route, be sure to disclose your history AND provide court certified disposition of the cases with your filing. It does not seem that any of your past includes violations under the AWA so I would imagine that you will be ok. However, I am not an attorney, this is not legal advice and you may want to pay for a consult with a reputable immigration lawyer and discuss this before filing the I-129F, if you go that route. I had a conviction from when I was a young idiot 30+ years ago. Nothing violent or drug related under the "Special Offenses" listed on the I-129F. I was approved after an RFE for the court docs which I then provided. (I did not read the instructions for the I-129F carefully enough and while I DID disclose my conviction on the petition, I neglected to provide the court documents with the initial filing - Learn from my mistake ) Good luck, stay in the community here at VJ - it's an amazing support group - and let us know how you decide to proceed!
